Re: iOS 5 support
Beta OS doesn't = jailbreak.
I am the developer I got the code from, so I'm not worried.
I honestly don't think this is an OS issue since it has happened both ways (my phone called hers, and her phone called mine), but people are so quick to tell me it's not their problem because they have no other way of explaining it.
Re: Ghost Dialing
It's not jailbroken but I'm running iOS 5 beta 4. I took it to Verizon because my phone hasn't been ringing, as in I just get voicemail notifications, and they wouldn't even look at it cause I "voided their warranty"
Ghost Dialing
So today I'm at the movie theatre with my friend. During the middle of the movie her AT&T iPhone rings; She shows me her phone and says "You're calling me!" I pull my Verizon iPhone 4 out of my pocket and the screen is locked and the call does not show up in my recent calls. A few minutes later, the same thing happens again. No voicemails were left. /;|
I'm guessing it's a phone issue?? Thoughts?...
Re: A way to Make Text Alert Sounds?
iOS 5 allows you to use ringtones for text messages
Switching service between two smartphones
If I want to switch my service between a Droid Incredible and an iPhone 4, can this be done easily without changing up my plan? Specifically, the smartphones talk free promo and the unlimited data? And is there a limit of how many times you can switch between phones?
Sorry for the noob question, but I get bored with phones easily and I'm used to SIM cards.
Thanks.
Looks like an Apple
Another lawsuit could be brewing!
Re: Blackberry Bold
RIM isn't doing too well right now. I'm not sure I would want to get into a 2 year contract with a blackberry right about now. I tried to like android and I'm still trying to, but my iPhone has been much better than my Bold 9000 (AT&T) and my HTC Incredible.
Re: All old tech that they now claim as cutting edge... Still no Flash aka "the deal breaker"
Yeah we don't miss those annoying flash advertisements, or the extra battery drain, or the insecurity.
Re: att is behind on this LTE
Almost went with Sprint for the Evo, but went to Verizon after a few friends complained about their Sprint service. Nobody with Verizon had complaints and so far I'm pretty satisfied.
Re: Zune App for Android
I do not believe so. The "menu" key does nothing while the app is open. The app is still in the very early stages and doesn't have an official name yet. I hope they continue with the development though.
Re: Zune App for Android
Haha, I use an iPhone 4 on a daily basis but I had to get the Incredible out of the closet when I read the article.
Re: iPhone 4s on Sprint
Not true. I've had both, and Android is a paper weight compared to Apple. How many times did you have to take your battery out today? HAHA!
Re: att is behind on this LTE
AT&T has no problem charging it's customers more than the other carriers, limiting their abilities (first capped data plans) and not having the network capacity to keep customers happy. They make me sick. They are even capping home DSL now. Greedy crooks.
Funny story - AT&T is based in Lubbock, TX. While sitting at a college football game at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, my AT&T phone could not make calls, send texts, or access the internet because of a ...
Zune App for Android
http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/20/windows-ph one-7-style-music-player-for-android-arrives- from-the/
Has anyone else downloaded this? I think it blows Android's (or at least the one on my HTC) music player out of the water.
Apple and Google better watch out! Microsoft might actually be a threat soon.
Re: This just made me realize
It seems to me that Android focuses more on getting stuff out quickly (and half-assed) where Apple is more concerned with making sure the stuff actually works well. Microsoft is just trying to catch up, and WebOS needs a better marketing strategy.
I'm hoping webOS can gain some market share; I haven't used it yet but it looks promising.
I downloaded Fede's Music App for Android - the Zune-like player not available in the Market place (Engadget Article) and I ...
Re: Samsung Charge?
Wait for the Apple to come out. Chances are you will get more than 4 hours out of the battery.
Re: Smartphone with best signal capability
Call quality is better too, Azeron. I thought it was just me until someone else used my phone who has an incredible and made a comment about it. Still miss the weather/clock widget though... Can't have it all!
Re: Smartphone with best signal capability
I get better service with my iPhone 4 than I did with my HTC Incredible.
Re: You just described....
I agree with the OP. I think Verizon's selection sucks. Especially because I don't like Motorola's phones and when I was looking most of the phones seemed to be Motorola models. I didnt want a blackberry because of past experience with their OS and browser. That didn't leave many options.
Re: Buy iPhone 4 from Best Buy Mobile or Verizon?
I got a Droid Incredible from Best Buy (and a month later I paid full retail for an iPhone 4 from an apple store, but that is beside the point). The good thing about best buy was I got a really good price on the phone, however they messed up the plan I wanted and I had to go to a Verizon store to get it straightened out. The lady also misspelled my name twice, which required a call ...
Re: u mean...
Except Apple doesn't make the Facebook app.
Not even a year!

Terrible
Raising the prices on devices that can't even hold calls. AT&T gets worse everyday.
What's next, a cap on dsl and u-verse? Oh wait, they already did!
:x
Re: Incorrect
You would need a physical keyboard for Ctrl+Alt+Delete... Unless you wanna pull the battery out everyday like an android.
:D
Re: Am I the only one?
Why can't device makers find a way to make their products more efficient? Or add bigger batteries? (as long as they don't come out looking like the thunderbolt) I don't want to mess with a charger at all.
Calculators have been using light energy for years. Put that on a phone!
Re: iOS 4.3
They only released 4.3 for the GSM iPhone
Re: Two Difference Versions of the iPhone 4 for VZW!?
I bought mine from Apple instead of Verizon. Mine ends in A. They give refurbished ones for replacements usually but I'm not sure if it's been on the market long enough to have been refurbished already.
Re: Battery Life
Are you using the automatic screen brightness setting? if not, do you have the brightness cranked up all the way?
Re: Windows Phone 7 for Verizon
It seems like win mo 7 is a joke. They are so far behind. Not to mention the "minor update" that bricked phones - although I gotta blame Samsung a bit there too. I've never had a Samsung phone that I liked.
Re: I think verizon is way way overated!
You can video chat over 3G with apps like Tango, but for FaceTime you need wifi. I've never used FaceTime cause I've only video chatted android people so I can't comment about the quality.
Re: What's the best texting phone
I really liked the keyboard on my blackberry bold when I was with AT&T. Back then I didn't need a data plan but Verizon might require one. Not sure.
Re: I think verizon is way way overated!
iPhone 4 has a front facing camera. Verizon offered the hot spot feature before AT&T.
iOS 4.3
I want 4.3! Lol.
Re: Im So Tired Of Waiting For The Thunderbolt
Thunderbolt was in today's Best Buy ad for $299
Re: So is the thunderbolt out tomorrow or not?
It was in today's Best Buy ad for $299
Re: Hot Spot Tethering and iPhone/Verizon
Look into jailbreaking it. I haven't done so; but I think it can be done.
Re: iOS vs. WebOS vs. Android
I've been wanting to try webOS. It looks pretty cool and I've always liked the design of the Pre but the reviews weren't good. I remember having a Palm IIIc with 8mb of storage. Ha!
As for me I've had a 3GS, 4 and the Droid Incredible. Android definitely wasn't for me. Way too glitchy. My biggest complaint on the 3GS was the screen; love the retina display on the 4.
Re: NEW TO AT&T
Hopefully you do. I definitely think it was an overcrowding issue asI was not too far from the events. I had the same problem at a Texas Tech football game in Lubbock. The game was at AT&T Stadium of all places and I got the lovely "No Service" banner. (still cracks me up) Hopefully people switching to the "4G" network will help with such issues.
Re: NEW TO AT&T
I didn't have good luck with AT&T and I'm in the DFW area. Verizon has been much better. I used to have problems when the cowboys and rangers would play. Hopefully you will have better results.
Re: Data speed ?
I never did a speed test but in my experiences Verizon has been consistently faster in my area.
