Apple Statement iPhone has already passed several of its required certification tests and is on schedule to ship in late June as planned. We can’t wait until customers get their hands (and fingers) on it and experience what a revolutionary and magical product it is. However, iPhone contains the most sophisticated software ever shipped on a mobile device, and finishing it on time has not come without a price — we had to borrow some key software engineering and QA ...

no biggie, until you ask you don't know, just look at the frequencies at the chipset they are using and this usually gives you a very good idea where a phone might be headed.

Just a heads up for you, no this phone will never support EDGE as it is a CDMA phone. It will however support EVDO which is much faster than EDGE. EDGE is found with GSM devices not CDMA

Theoretically Cingular would be faster, but as far as I am aware of there have been no real world tests that show that HSDPA on Cingular is anywhere near being considered an EVDO crusher. It just isn't up and running yet. I could be wrong, but would love to know if I am.

That just pushes the point even further, to say what justifies a $600 price for that phone? The MP3 player? for $350 I can get an iPod photo spend $140 on the 6230 and still have money in my wallet, and both devices will work better than the 7280.

Re: My question is why?
Apr 13, 2005, 10:35 AM
in the Article: Nokia Releases 7280 On Website forum

I think the point of his comment was that there are a lot of people out there willing to spend $600 on a phone. He just doesn't see how this phone justifies that price, it doesn't compete with a treo 650 or a samsung A790. What justifies the $600 price, hell even the Razr was only $500 and it was much more usable, this phone is designed to be an accesory night phone not a primary phone.

D600 is everything Sprint want in the A800
Mar 10, 2005, 8:29 AM
in the Article: Samsung Announces Two High Tech Phones forum

Why can't sprint realize that bluetooth functionality is desired enough by our customers to build that feature into our phones! The feature set and style of the D600 is very reminiscent of the A800 and yet it offers potentially more stuff. Sadly I also wouldn't be surprised if this phone comes to the market at a lower selling price than the A800, which would throw out the idea that it is a cost issue which limits the ...

You're anger and logic would have made sense in November, but seeing as how the phone will probably be out in less than 2 weeks according to Sprint reps and Sanyo's own website. This isn't a phone 3 months away, this is a phone nearly released that is being hyped to peak interest after all of the delays.

Re: help out i want the 5600 and i thought i qualified for rebate
Feb 19, 2005, 1:13 PM

Honestly, there is virtually nothing that can be done. Possibly if you call customer service and explain why you got it a new phone and if it was replacing a broken phone instead of just buying a new phone they may note the account as eligible for the rebate. Generally though, unless the change is made through lockline then whenever you change phones even just activating an old phone will reset everything. I think they have ...

You are entitled to your opinion, but look at it from my point of view. I currently have had the Sanyo 5300 for 2 years now. I watched as the 4500 came out with Speaker-phone and was a little jealous, then I watched mega-pixel cameras come out on phones, but now QVGA screens and more. This phone has everything I told myself my next phone would have to have for me to upgrade from the 5300. ...

I'm pretty sure, that the phone will only be available in one color. That picture appears to just be a shot of the back of the phone. If you look at the pictures of the phone here at phone scoop, the back appears to be a different color than the front.

I wasn't even aware a current U.S. phone could do that, but that is a useful feature. The nokia version will be much more useful in that video could be recorded live, in the moment! Sorry about the confusion

I believe this article is in reference to the idea of streaming video, not just sharing videos. If you can see the other person live, then you have this feature but I didn't think that was available yet!

Yes, you're in the wrong forum though It is going to be a samsung model. I think you might have gotten the Samsung PM740 confused with the Sanyo MM7400. Very different phones.

Had you done your research you would have found the sanyo 7300. Flip phone with speaker-phone, Ready Link, external idea and analog roam if necessary. Also has Sanyo's superior RF reception. On a side note though, they will soon replace it with the 7400, which does have a camera, but that just goes to show what the market is clamoring for.

Just so you know, Sprint just rolled out a new family plan in southern Indiana under Ubiquitel. This new plan is 2000 minutes shared, including unlimited PCS-to-PCS, Unlimited Vision on both phones as long as you keep the plan. This also includes unlimited nights and weekends, that can start at 7 p.m. for all the lines on the account for $7. Additional lines are $9.99 apiece with vision for an additional $5 for each line. ...

You seem to not be a big fan of the Treo 600, well what about the 650? It should be out by thanksgiving and it will clear up most of your complaints. It will have a removable battery, the capability to do bluetooth and possibly wifi I believe, not too sure about that one. As for the issue of price, that is the standard price for the Treo. If you don't want a treo, wait ...

from what I have heard whispered from my sprint reps is that the main difference will be MM5600 will have 262K internal screen. And that the MM5600 will employ the use of an explansion slot, this can be used for a variety of things, best of all being memory! Other than that the only other key difference I know of, is the faceplates that the MM7400 have are replaceable and the MM5600 propably aren't.

Re: VZW PRL's
Sep 6, 2004, 9:04 AM

Just a little heads up for how Sprint works. Unless you have a special phone I am not familiar with then you are just wrong. Sprint phones have to be manually updated with the new PRL's also, by calling techinical support, requesting it then having it attached to their account. Its not the easiest thing in the world, but it doesn't just occur automatically. I have customers regularly stop in my store 6 or 7 ...

This message is directed towards PhonePimp and his constant complaints about Sprint and its pricing policies. If you sign a 2 year contract with Sprint, PCS to PCS is no longer a $5 option, it is included free of charge. This is closer to the Cingular/Verizon policy. Just so you know its there, I think it is a fairly new option.
