I have it for Zoom and Brightness, but not for Shutter. I've seen messages about creating a blank wav file and saving it as shutter1, or something like that. but when I tried to save the file on the blackjack, I received an error that it is locked. A Shutter sound off option would be very nice!

So how is the browser on the Curve? I used a Pearl for a day and the browser was painfully slow, but email messaging was awesome. I have a Blackjack 2 and can say the opposite...browser is awesome, messaging could use a lot of work. I realize the BJ2 is a 3G phone and the Pearl wasn't, but even with EDGE the browser shouldn't be too bad.

I'd love to know this as well, there's about a 1 second lag between the time you press the button and the time it takes the picture. Meanwhile, you've started to move the phone since the picture has remained still only to discover you have nothing but blur. I really don't rely on my phone as a camera (I have a digital camera that takes great pictures), but it is convenient to have once in a while.

So I just got mine today and discovered that my travel and car charges that work with every other Samsung I have had is not compatible with the BJII.

So how does the BJ2 compare to the first BJ? Has anybody had both? I have the first right now and the more I use it the less I like it. Is it a faster interface? Does it crash less? Thanks

I just got off the phone with customer service, it has been released but is not in the distribution centers yet. Comes in red or gold. But they won't be able to talk about ordering one for a few more days.

Mini-USB to Samsung charger adapter
Aug 23, 2007, 6:10 PM
in the Samsung forum

I've been through the forums but couldn't find anything on this topic, nor on the vendors with accessories linked from Phonescoop. Has anybody been able to find an adapter that changes a mini-USB plug (Motorola, Blackberry, etc) to Samsung's charger plug for the Blackjack, Sync, etc? I travel a lot and would rather not pack two separate chargers for my Motorola headset (mini-USB) and another for my Blackjack. Thanks!

Question...would you buy a Blackjack on Ebay? You can get a "new" one for about $100 less than at the AT&T store, but I'm a little leary as well...thoughts? Thanks

Awesome! That drove me crazy with the past phones. I might have to look in to this one now if they get it in a retail store around here.

in the LG Trax CU575 forum

So do you suppose they got rid of the goofy jingles that played every time you changed a menu setting or sent a message? That would be my dealbreaker on this phone. Sure you can give the same response as everyone else did about the 320 and 500 (just put it on vibrate), but I don't keep or want my phone on vibrate full time.

I agree that it looks better than the earlier phones...remember the CU500 that looked like it was just thrown together with spare parts or the CU320 with it's ridiculously tiny keys?

I've had the original phone since June. Not really good service on VZ's part to have what are obviously defective phones (which the rep in the store even experienced) and force their customers to suck it up and deal with it.

Powering off - 8300 version
Dec 29, 2006, 2:01 PM
in the LG VX-8300 forum

Ok, I'm not sure what the deal is, but I'm having the same problem with this phone as I had with the VX-4600. The phone would not connect a call about 30% of the time and would power off randomly. Today I went to the store to exchange my 8300 for something else, but the warranty coverage only allows you to get the same model of phone. The first (yes, first) replacement phone they gave me started doing the same ...

Eh, I'm gonna disagree with Indianapolis. They still don't have it on their site and the rep said he really hasn't heard anything new as to when it will be rolled out.

So what's the latest rollout plans for 3G? I was told in June that we (Indianapolis) would have it in July. It's almost October now. I do recall reading an article that they are delaying some rollouts. Anyone know when they will complete it?

while in contract you can move around all you want. the only thing that suffers is you loose some roll over when moving to a lower plan. SOME rollover? I went from the 600 minute plan to the 450 and lost ALL of my rollover. The person at the store said it would be some, when I called customer service they said it would be ALL and the rep had no clue what he was doing.

Actually, Cingular is the only carrier where I've had this problem. I've been with Sprint and VZW in the past and haven't had the buzz. Even set up service again with VZ this past weekend because I'm thinking about going back and it doesn't happen with their phone.

Its like a chirping buzz, I have the same problem all the time and it has happened with Motorola and LG phones. It is very irritating as I have been on calls at work with my desk phone and can hear it through there (and so do people on the other end). I've also been fairly happy with Cingular up until recently when my reception at home dropped down to nothing.

Well then both of us are dumbasses. I had the Razr for a week too. The reception was great in my apartment which is usually pretty bad. But it was awkward to hold and text with, plus I couldn't get it to keep a bookmark and work on media net. So I'm back to the 557 too. Thanks for the tip!

V557 Reception - Software problem??

in the Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557 forum

I just upgraded to the 557 on Wednesday from the 551 because I thought the 551 was a great phone. Then on Saturday (yesterday) my reception suddenly dropped down to nothing, to the point that my phone said Emergency Only on the status. So after going back to the Cingular store, they swapped phones for me. Today, the same thing happens, I had the phone maybe 15 hours. The rep was surprised to see me in the store again ...

Because I certainly can't get one on the phone! I created my media net login a year ago when I came to Cingular, have not made any changes to the settings on my phone and I am logging in the exact same way I have in the past (push the little orange Cingular guy to get on the wireless internet). Oh, and I have a Motorola V551 Here's my problem, ever since Media Net was redesigned a few months ago I ...

"Improved" Media Net

Is it just me, or has Media Net sucked since the improvements were made? "Your Media NetID cannot be verified" is a very common error along with "Empty Message!" when viewing an email. And don't get me started on the extra number of steps you now have to go through just to send a quick reply to a message. I've been really happy with Cingular after stints with Sprint and VZW, but this is really making me wonder if ...

I'm getting close to the upgrade timing for my phone and I'd like to know what some of you recommend...I currently have the V551 which for the most part has been a good phone, except the reception kinda sucks and the bluetooth has a hard time staying connected to the headset (both of which seem to be a common problem with this phone). So... Has anything else been updated on the V557 other than the ticker? If the reception and ...
