Do you work in Sprint customer service? Your grammar looks like a lot of their outsourced reps talk. Reading your posts gave me a headache. Try using a period.

https://www.phonescoop.com/news/discuss.php?f m=m&ff=2487&fi=1422660 What capability makes the q9h different then the q9m as far as crippling? You said Verizon crippled the bluetooth on the h so you couldn't use your gps with it, I pointed out they both have the same bluetooth profiles. I'm happy for you that the only example you can give is the one I gave. I guess that must mean all their phones are crippled since one feature has been delayed. I concede, you win, great job making stuff ...

Nope, and it never was except for Blackberries, but that has to do with a contract with Rimm. It is worth it to add the feature to get a discount, as you can always remove it since it is noncontractual.

I'm guessing the 8830 doesn't have GPS so that they can sell VZ Navigator on it, like they are doing on the pearl. The Q9H is the global version you are referring to, right? In your definition of "crippled" both are equally crippled, as they both have the same bluetooth profiles, as I already stated! Quit making stuff up like you did with the 8525. And if you did do some research, it would be your's, not mine. How can ...

I have read the entire thread and you haven't given one example. I was the one that pointed out the 8830, not you. You pointed out the Q9M which I pointed out is just as "crippled" the Q9H. I wasn't choosing one or two devices, I am only saying what I have personal experience with. I am not going to do research on their entire lineup. My point was that most of their phones are not crippled anymore. I'm ...

Hold on a second. According to phonescoop the TyTN has 128mb of ram, a 2mp camera, and it looks like both the TyTN and xv6800 both have a 400mhz processor. So I guess you're just making stuff up at this point.

Re: Question

My point is most of Verizon's current devices are not crippled, which was the point of your original post. The "TyTN" is not the same as the "Mogul", you say that Verizon takes phones and disables features. I'll take your word that the 8525 has superior hardware, but you aren't comparing the same devices. If your argument is Verizon can be really slow at releasing phones, I agree. This wasn't (until your last post) a VZW vs ATT thread. ...

That's interesting about the Q9M, because on Motorola's webpage, the Q9H is listed as having the same bluetooth profiles. Both only have A2DP and AVRCP or headset/hands-free and stereo profiles. So it doesn't look like the Q9H would support your GPS either (or maybe its crippled too!). I transfer music and pictures from my computer without a USB cable, VZW's blessing, or third party software all the time. You can use a memory card to transfer all of that. Both ...

Since you seem very knowledgeable on the subject, maybe you could educate me on what Verizon smartphones are crippled. I only know of the 8830 not being able to use GPS (yet). You could even take it a step further and tell me what phones (non-smartphones) out of Verizon CURRENT lineup is crippled.

Phonescoop just read the press release wrong. Verizon just mentioned that if you do sign up for the unlimited data, you can receive an additional discount. Plans start at $34.99.

You keep making up different numbers, but you haven't mentioned operating cost. If verizon's operating at less then 4 trillion a year doesn't that make them profitable?

Actually, you are incorrect. VZW's policy is if you have more then one year remaining in your conract, you can change your plan without renewing your contract. If there is less then one year remaining, you can change your plan with a one year contract from the date of the change. I think that's a pretty fair policy.

How does the iPhone have 8 hour battery?

Did Apple somehow create something better then lithium ion?? I think the best battery life of current smartphones is the 8525 (correct me if I'm wrong) at 5 hours of rated talk time, the next closest being 4.5 with the treo 750. So is Apple just lying?? How the hell does the iPhone have an 8 hour talk time? Can anyone point out a phone to me that has ever had 8 hours?

It also says that McDonald's started using the same beans Starbuck's was using a year ago. I don't make mistakes with my current WM5 phone. I just like the feedback of buttons. I can dial and text without looking at my keypad with my current non-pda phone. My point was not having any real buttons is a major drawback for me.

I think its a cool concept on paper, but in real use it may suck. My biggest gripe with phones like the razr is the flat keypad, because I can't feel the buttons. I have a xv6700 and I hate dialing from the touch screen. Even if Apple improved the touch screen, I can't see it being that much better.

Uhh... Dell, HP, Compaq, etc are equipment manufacturers, the same as Motorola, Nokia, or LG. ISPs are service providers, not content providers. Verizon is mainly a service provider, but also provides content through vcast. And you said it yourself, they will go after 'the entities making the content available,' wouldn't that be verizon? Ok, so I have a real one now. Reception is great. 4 bars of 1x and 3 of evdo, my 8300 is only getting one ev. Speaker phone is ok, but much better on the 8300, same goes for music playback. The UI have the original vzw but with different, better looking bars. There's something very similar to the 8300's silver spin. And a third option that scrolls up and down.

Almost identical size to the RAZR, but the front flip goes down further so it doesn't have that big thing sticking out below the keypad. Ugly chrome rim around the outside flip. Gloss black outside like the chocolate. I don't like the keypad, it's flat like the razr. Someone needs to make a flat phone with a raised keypad. It doesn't open as far as a razr, so the mouth piece is at a better angle. Overall good looking phone, ...
