How odd. 5 minutes after my last reply to your post I went to make a call and I got the "Network failed" message on my phone. I had full tower signal, and immediately upon redialing the number it went through fine. First time that has ever happened to me with two weeks of using this phone. You jinxed me man!!!

Actually funny you should mention it, I had a "Emergency calls only" message pop for the first time yesterday when trying to make a call. I was actually tempted to dial "911" just to see what would happen :0) IT WAS DUE TO LACK OF SIGNAL though. I know this because it is about the only spot in my area that I have constantly lost signal for the last several years with Cingular service. I've had 5 different phones ...
P107 Battery Life
Just wanted to mention that the battery life really is excellent on this phone. If you don't mess with the pictures and just use your phone for talking moderately each day you'll get 5 full days of the battery. Not bad at all. I last charged my phone saturday afternoon and it is now wednesday and I still have 2 of three bars in the battery status indicator.

Satus light? There is a light that blinks that I've actually found annoying at night sometimes. I never payed much attention to what it means though so I'm not sure if this is the status light you are asking about...

I guess it depends on where you live but I must say that in central NJ I have had ZERO dropped calls with this phone or the few Nokia's I've used previously. Coverage is excellent in my area though so it might be hard to compare.

EXCHANGE this phone immediately. Mine has not rebooted even once after a dozen pictures. You have a lemon for sure.
BTW as you probably know by now the picture quality is horrid on this phone. Not that it bothers me. I'll only use the camera to snap a picture of something at the store to show my wife. No need for perfection. I mean if I could snap a picture of a hot chick walking in front of me ...

Follow up- Day two:
Well after two days of fiddling with this phone which should be causing the battery to drain I'm still full. Thats good.
The voice quality of the person with whom you are speaking with is definitely of a lesser quality then I am used to. If my past few Nokia's were a 10, this Samsung is a 7.

Well I just picked one up at my local best buy yesterday (central NJ). The people working there didn't even know they had them and only found the phone when I asked them to please double check. Got it for $99 with a 1 year extension. Not bad AT ALL.
Anyway, so far I like this phone alot. I'm a very critical person too. The interface is different then my Nokia's but not bad really. I found navigating around the ...

Hey thanks for the mini-review. I've always been a nokia guy myself and the thought of learning a non Nokia phone interface does sour me a lil but I want to try a flip phone and I too want to stay away from Motorola (though I must admit if a good enough deal fell on my lap for a V600 I would give it a try).
Reception and battery life are #1 for me so it looks like this ...
