Its simple. If you are terminating your contract early for any reason (aka leaving US Cellular) you pay the EFT. Nothing anyone says can change that. The other two options are for those times when you want to stay with US Cellular, but get new equipment.

Yes, so long as you can prove that the phone is in working order.

Actually no. US Cellular is just asking that you keep your word. However there are ways around that.

It depends on several things, but I'll try and play out all likely options here: 1st: If you are looking to cancel and leave US Cellular, you will always incur the EFT. 2nd: In most markets, once you've completed 20 months of your contract, you are elligible to renew your contract and get new equipment. 3rd: In a few markets, you only need complete 18 months of your contract to be elligible to renew. If you have any further questions, ...

The answer is no. US Cellular has been deemed too small by ringtone sites, so there are none that will work. Sorry to say, but at this time, there is no other solution, so we are all stuck using Easyedge.

Is anyone else a little worried...

Now, I truely couldn't care less about the cancelation of this phone. However it marks a disturbing trend away from clamshell style PDA and smartphones. It is very very likely that I'll not get another PDA/Smartphone until they start making new clamshell models. Am I the only one?

alejandro, please look at what The Moose has said. His words were more along the lines of "I wish USCC's Speedtalk was a verticle feature that I could add to my freaking awesome plan". I'm quite certian he'd be more than willing to pay the full cost for his new phones if it were such a feature. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Mr. Moose

I prefer the 4750 myself, but that is because I like flip phones. In the CR area, the 444 does a little better with reception, but not enough to change which one I'd prefer.

What does any of this have to do with not getting U.S. Cellular? If you want to get out of the contract by moving, you need to return your equipment and provide proof of residancy. Its just that simple. Have a great day.

US Cellular uses other carriers outside of their local network area. Their coverage is as good as those other carriers' coverage. As a USCC agent for the past two years, I've not heard any complaints about coverage when traveling outside of "The Network". As a mater of fact, I remember most people saying that they got great reception even while roaming.

What are your thoughts on the 4750? Not the speedtalk service itself, just the phone?

Actually is more of a comment on the crappy phones that Motorola tries to pass off on the U.S. carriers. Personaly I'm be waiting for an improvement of the LX5550 that doesn't have a camera.

Nope, I'm not joking. The 266 is suposed to be a Speedtalk enabled camera phone. Which really sucks because as a camera phone, the 265 is pretty lame.

We are getting a new Moto within the next few months, but it ain't the C-RAZR. I would like Motorola more except their software sucks something aweful and their charge port is useless.

Da comrade, all buisnesses should be under government regulation. We all know every industry in the US, no the world has less than totaly honest practices. The US Government should take over the world and regulate EVERY industry. As the government is so much more honest that the buisnesess they try and regulate.

Umm, radio waves transmit in a 360 degree arc. That happens to include straight up. So yeah, its very possible to get service at 35,000 feet. Heck you'd be able to get reception from ever tower in your carriers network from 35,000 as there are really no obstructions in the verticle. You would (in theory) be able to get great reception from every tower on any compatable network in the U.S. at those altitudes, hence ...

Example: You are on a farm and working with a manure spreader. You and your six farm hands are all spread out along the line and you need to give commands to all six of them at the same time to insure problem free application of the fertalizer. Is it quicker to call each one, one at a time, or two way the whole lot at once? Just something to think about.
