For anyone concerned about the 100 song limit on Motorola iTunes phones, there's now a relatively easy way to increase the limit to 1000. I managed to do it in about 5 minutes...

Good enough considering it's a phone. Syncs w/Outlook using the included software.
I've read about the M-mode button issue, does this launch M-mode even with the keypad locked on the phone?
You can program the Online button to do whatever you want. And no, it won't launch with keypad lock on.
Can you upload/download files using bluetooth (i.e. OBEX support)?

i live and work in the city and made the switch from verizon a few weeks ago. i have absolutely no regrets. my biggest concern was service, but based on my experience (in the city mostly, also in queens, bk and nj) the service is comparable, if not better in some cases believe it or not. plans are a heluva lot better and there's no comparison on the phones.

Another option is to purchase with an Amex card. I think all Amex cards have purchase protection against theft or damage and I know my Plat card also has automatic insurance against loss as well.
I've had to use the service once and it was nearly effortless - just called them, told them what i lost and got the credit issued to my acct.

Cingular service in NYC area?
So, the wife and I thinking about switching from Sprint and Verizon, respectively, over to Cingular. Reasons for the switch are plan terms (7pm nights, rollover, etc.), price (great corporate discount) and phones (much cooler phones).
The big question is around network coverage. We live in NYC and spend most of our time in the Tri-State area. Verizon seems to be the best service out there, but how does Cingular compare? Any difference after the merger ...

the only way to get to the bottom screws is to disassemble the phone. definitely be careful doing it. i've read about quite a few people damaging their phones after changing faceplates. the most common problem is the display going completely black after they put the phone back together. the other option is to bring the phone to a independent wireless provider and having a technician do it.

the 39.99 plan is most likely the 400 min National Plan...
verizon charges more than everyone else because their coverage and customer service is a lot better than any other carrier. having come from sprint (who has cheaper plans and cooler phones), i can wholeheartedly say that i am much happier paying a little more in order to get better coverage and service.

i made the switch to verizon and couldn't be happier - yeah, they're more expensive than others, but the coverage is unbeatable and the customer service is great - no wait times and consistently knowledgable reps.
FREE battery for LG1200...no kidding

here's a page that has illustrated instructions for disassembling the SE47. i think you'll only need to follow a couple of the steps to change the faceplate...changing the entire housing may require all steps.
