Outlook compatibility issues
Nov 16, 2021, 10:24 AM
in the Article: Samsung Starts Rolling Out Android 12 forum

Just a heads up. Everyone I have encountered that received the Android 12 update on the S21, + and Ultra yesterday are complaining of outlook being unusable and force closing as soon as it opens. Might want to wait for a patch from from Samsung or an update for outlook before downloading if you use outlook.

Viewing PDF files
Apr 14, 2008, 6:41 PM
in the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 forum

I got my Pearl for work (Sprint) and have a lot of data stored in PDF format that I need to keep handy. Is there a way to get the phone to view PDF files that are stored on the storage card? If so is there a particular folder they have to be placed in to be accessible?

How to add it. It will be easy
Dec 6, 2007, 1:05 PM
in the Article: Opera Creates Mini Browser for BREW Phones forum

When it becomes available just add it through BitPim. You can't download directly from Verizons browser but with BitPim it should be easy to add after you download it to your computer.

Verizons phones aren't subsidy locked
Oct 28, 2007, 11:52 PM
in the Sprint forum

It would be nice to have an Alltel phone on Verizon so you wouldn't have to deal with their crappy UI but a Verizon or Alltel phone on Sprint is going to be voice only, maybe text so there is no point. Everyone mentioned the data platforms are different which is correct so no web. Verizon phones are limited in what they can do feature wise due to them locking down a lot of options but are not locked ...

Detroit gets V-Cast Mobile TV 11/19?
Oct 11, 2007, 8:47 PM
in the Verizon forum

According to a Verizon rep I was talking to today V-Cast Mobile TV goes live on 11/19 in the Detroit area with the usual month of free access to get you hooked. Can anyone confirm this? I was told before the end of the year but didin't know how reliable the date was.

I missed the memory card slot portion. However from what I heard there was no music player on the phone. Maybe they just meant no Sprint music store and it has an MP3 player still. :?

in the Article: LG Rumor Spreads The Message For Sprint forum

But compared to the EnV the Rumor is not EVDO, no music player, no card slot, etc. It is strictly a messaging phone. I would like to see a high end version of this some down the line.

Re: Transfer pics from phone to PC?
Oct 9, 2007, 8:52 PM
in the LG VX-9400 forum

That is the cheapest way unless you want to pay for the picture pack or buy a data cable which will cost you more than the card. If all you are doing is transferring pics to the phone and don't have 500 pictures then a small card like 128 or 64 meg should be fine and can be bought for $5 or under at most places. If you want larger storage you can get 1 gug cards for ...

Re: vx9400 sound problem
Oct 9, 2007, 8:45 PM
in the Verizon forum

Thanks, I was kind of wondering since I had not read anything about this before. I know my 4400 had a sweet spot that had to be found as well as a couple of other phones but this one just sounds muffled on both ends of the call. I will run it in and get it swapped in the next couple of days.

vx9400 sound problem
Oct 9, 2007, 6:52 PM
in the Verizon forum

Sorry for posting this here. I posted it in the 9400 forum but it doesn't seem to be too active and I am hoping for some input. I picked up a 9400 3 days ago and noticed that the earpiece sounds muffled and it sounds somewhat muffled for the person I am talking to as well. I never noticed this problem with any other phone I have had and it is extremely noticeable when compared to my 8100 and ...

Muffled sound normal/common?
Oct 9, 2007, 6:12 AM
in the LG VX-9400 forum

I picked up my 9400 a few days ago and love it so far but the sound seems to be muffled on both ends of the call when compared to my previous lg8100 and my wifes 8300. Is this normal for this phone or did I get a dud? I am still within my 30 days so if I got a dud I want to swap it for another 9400. If this is normal I need ...

Re: Transfer pics from phone to PC?
Oct 9, 2007, 6:10 AM
in the LG VX-9400 forum

Transfer them to a memory card and then use the card reader on your computer. If you don't already have a card and reader you can pick them up cheap at almost any computer store. The card should come with a micro SD to SD adapter so it can be read in most computers.

It may have scrambled
Oct 2, 2007, 10:19 PM
in the Sprint forum

I have seen a few issues with older samsungs where the lock code scrambles for no apparent reason. Even in the store we would hook and read the code and it would appear as a bunch of weird symbols. At that point we would change the code and write the phone and it would work. You may have to visit a store to get it fixed.

Re: Antenna only for TV?
Sep 29, 2007, 12:12 AM
in the LG VX-9400 forum

Thanks. I am looking at picking mine up next week and hoping it is as good as the reviews claim it is. I just picked up a Muziq as an upgrade for my work line and want something really unique for my personal line.

Re: 8350 free at CC
Sep 25, 2007, 11:45 PM
in the Verizon forum

I am in Michigan. I upgraded my wife to an 8300 today and we checked with CC first. They were out of 8300's and only had the 8350. She hates the 8300 but only because of the UI. She had a 6100 previously.

Antenna only for TV?
Sep 25, 2007, 11:25 PM
in the LG VX-9400 forum

I am deciding between the 9400 and the EnV (a tough decision) but am kind of leaning toward the 9400. I am just wondering if anyone knows if the antenna is just for the TV. I would hate to have to pull that monster out every time I make a phone call. Also, I have read all of the reviews I can find and they seem pretty positive. Any issues that I need to look out for ...

Actually it is VTEC, not Vtech. Also, I would love to run your overweight bahn burner against my 3rd gen Prelude which is almost complete including the 486WHP Turbo H22 that a friend just pulled out of his Accord.

Unprepared and he paid the price

in the Techs & Trends forum

Or you could search for "Unprepared sheeple who went into the mountains without taking the proper precautions, emergency gear or "just in case supplies". Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for the family. It is just frustrating to see people go off like this unprepared to take care of themselves and the people they are responsible for. Too many people have the "Someone will come and save me" mentality. Don't count on it, take responsibility and be ...

What's a fair price for this?
Oct 24, 2006, 5:14 PM
in the Verizon forum

I posted this in the 9800 forum but got no response. I have a brand new in the box 9800m that I am thinking of selling locally or on Evilbay but am wondering what a fair price is for something like this? I was thinking around $280. Does this sound fair and reasonable? Please note, I am in no way trying to advertise this for sale here but am looking for suggestions as to fair ...

Actually, they would work with another carrier
Oct 11, 2006, 2:16 PM
in the Article: Sprint Policies Give Subscribers An Out forum

"Although an unlocked Sprint handset would honestly not work with any other national carrier's network" Actually they would work with any other CDMA carrier such as Verizon (but no web as VZW uses BREW and Sprint uses Java), Alltell (same web situation), Metro PCS, Cricket, U.S. Cellular. However the ESN would have to be added to the data base for a subscriber to activate the phone which most carriers will not do. They could be used if you ...

Big problem with receipt for settlement, can anyone help?
Jul 3, 2006, 4:22 PM
in the Motorola V710 forum

I purchased my 710 at full price on August 31st of 2004. I do not have my original receipt. I tried to get it from Verizon and that is where the problem comes in. The store that I bought it at is no longer a corporate store. When they try to pull the transaction up from another location they cannot get it because it gives them an invalid location error. Customer care said they ...

Rich Brome said: Forget "people"... You can expect LG and Verizon to call it the Chocolate. Ever since the RAZR, phone names are all the rage, and LG is all over that trend. The V, the Migo, the Fusic... Don't forget the a900 "Blade" and the 6600 "Katana" which by the way I got to play with today and was horrendously unimpressed. I wish this one would be out by the time I have to return my v710 but ...

Re: Battery Life
Mar 20, 2006, 8:34 AM
in the Article: Review: Samsung A900 forum

According to Sprint, due to the size and design of the phone there will not be an extended battery released. In stores the standard replacement battery is the same price as most extended batteries. The best thing to do is to try some of the tips and tricks that myself and others have mentioned in the forum to prolong battery life like leaving bluetooth off if you don't use a headset with it, turning the location off, ...

It isn't locked to begin with
Dec 31, 2005, 2:39 PM
in the LG V VX-9800 forum

Ok, first off it can be "unlocked" as there is no lock on it to begin with. The MSL is 000000 as it is for all Verizon phones. The only catch is Sprint will not activate it as it is not a phone they sell and none of the features would work. Sprint uses Java and Verizon uses BREW for their internet, the picture mail system is totally different, and the EVDO would not work so it ...

Re: unlocking
Dec 11, 2005, 11:59 PM
in the Samsung MM-A900 / SPH-A900 / Ace forum

In theory, yes. You would only need the MSL for the phone. However in practice it is probably not going to happen. Verizon will not activate it on their network as it is not a model they carry and the ESN is not in their data base. The other downside, if you did get it activated you would be able to use none of the features such as picture mail so it would basically be ...

What software version is the Treo? I know the was an update to fix the roaming and a few other things. It should be at 1.12

Set your roaming to Sprint only, change your backlight and keypad to 8 seconds, unless you are using it, turn the bluetooth off. It should help some but the battery leaves much to be desired.

YL02 fixed your picture mail problem???? It did nothing for mine. Teir 2 support couldn;t even tell me what it was supposed to fix but said therewas an update coming later in the month. I wonder if there is going to be ANOTHER update coming as the current one did nothing to help the "Data channel not enabled" error. The only thing that fixed it was backing up, then refurbing the phone and reloading everything ...

Dec 9, 2005, 12:09 AM
in the Samsung MM-A900 / SPH-A900 / Ace forum

I prefer the 900 for the style and size myself. The 920 reminds me a LOT of my LG 8100 so I was looking for something a little different when I went for the 900. If you like the 900 I say stick with it. The speakers on the 920 aren't that much better. On the flip side my co worker bought the 920 the same day I bought my 900 and she absolutely loves ...

Go to the store and check them out, see which one feels the best in your hand and has all the features you want. Narrow it down and read the reviews here. See which one looks the coolest and has the features you want. It is a tough decision, I like my 8100 and thought about changing to the 9800 (now the V) but can't justify the cost right now. Personally I don't trust any ...

Dec 7, 2005, 11:22 AM
in the Samsung MM-A900 / SPH-A900 / Ace forum

YL02 was released for the phone and you can update it over the air. There are rumors of a software update fixing the picture mail issue. I am assuming there is another one coming as this one did nothing for the "Data channel not enabled" error and that is what the update is supposed to fix. There were rumors of one being released in mid December, not sure if this was it or if there is ...

Crippled again
Dec 7, 2005, 1:33 AM
in the Motorola RAZR V3c forum

I am sure it will come as no surprise that while the other carriers selling this phone left the BT wide open that VZW crippled theirs again. Sprint is finally selling phones with open bluetooth and have 3 new models out that are left uncrippled like their past offerings, all the GSM carriers leave their phones alone, even other CDMA carriers selling the same models don't tamper with their phones capabilities. I know, I know, the standard response ...
