Re: Outlook Rules
Aug 15, 2008, 3:13 PM
in the HTC Touch (CDMA) / XV6900 forum

I have mine set up with rules with messages to go to certain subfolders and it works fine. However, for the rules to work they need to be set up on your exchange server, if you are using one. If you are using pop3 email, gmail or some other type of email, try setting up the rules on the server and see if it works. If using an exchange server, set up the rules on the ...

I have the HTC touch also. You need to go into Outlook on the device into the Inbox. Click Menu, then click tools, then click Manage Folders, then expand your Inbox to see the subfolders and check the folders you want to synchronize. They have to be subfolders of your inbox, if you are using public folders I don't think it works. I have rules set up to move certain messages to different and it ...

NE2 Question
Feb 12, 2008, 12:37 PM
in the Verizon forum

I know the answer is probably in this forum somewhere but after looking for 10 minutes I gave up. I am eligible for a NE2 starting tomorrow but don't really like anything that is being offered right now. I have a Motorola Q and have been happy with it - the new Q is not really an upgrade except for a nicer keyboard, the Samsung SCH-i1760 is a piece of garbage, and the Mogul is a little ...

I730, XV6800 or SMT5800
Nov 5, 2007, 10:29 PM
in the Samsung SCH-i760 forum

I have been using a Motorola Q for over a year and am looking to upgrade to either this phone, the XV6800 or the SMT 5800 (if the HTCs ever come out). I use Activesync through a hosted exchange server with 1and1.com to synchronize my email, contacts and calendar. I use PDANet to tether my laptop and have QCaps to make the keyboard more blackberry friendly (as I used to have a blackberry). I like Windows Mobile and have ...

Re: Seems Like a Waste of Time

in the Motorola Q9m / Q9c forum

I know that I can call customer care or go into a store and cut a better deal but at the end of the day it would still be about $200 for a slightly bigger, slightly heavier Q that is not upgradeable to EVDO Rev. A and does not have Wifi. While that SDIO Wifi Card may work it will drain the battery but that is not really a problem as I am not as concerned about the ...

Seems Like a Waste of Time
Aug 22, 2007, 10:29 AM
in the Motorola Q9m / Q9c forum

I currently have the Q and am very happy with it but it is over a year old and is starting to freeze a little bit every few days. I was waiting to upgrade to this phone but it does not really seem like an upgrade other than going from Windows Mobile 5.0 to 6.0. It does not have Wifi and does not appear to be upgradeable to EVDO Rev. A. Plus, I am eligible for ...

Email Question
Jun 14, 2006, 11:46 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

I just got my Q today and so far so good. However, when you send an email it does not look like you are able to cc or bcc the email to anybody else - you can only add recipients to the To line. Is it true that you cannot cc a recipient on an email or am I missing something.

Re: Optimum online POP3
Jun 12, 2006, 11:07 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

I have not bought the phone yet but have optimum online and had to set up a relay for the outgoing smtp server with my optonline account to send email at my office which uses a Verizon DSL connection. It is possible that if you are using Verizon wireless sync you may have the same issue. It is not expensive and there are several relay providers. I use dnsexit.com as my smtp relay server. You ...

Re: Push Email on the Q

in the Motorola Q forum

I have not bought the phone yet but I too have a blackberry that I use to push my POP3 account and have the same or similar issue. I think I have found an inexpensive solution for those that don't have their own exchange server. You can sign up with mail2web.com for a personal exchange email account for $1.99 a month and can forward up to 5 POP3 accounts to that account. You can then set ...

Q v. Blackberry
Jun 5, 2006, 1:58 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

I currently have the Blackberry 7750 and use it to sync my POP3 account with optimum online, which is the only email account I use. The blackberry push is great, plus it has an automatic bcc function that has all emails that are sent from my blackberry go back to my POP3 mail server so they are back in my inbox. Does anyone know if there is a way to have emails that are sent on the ...

Push Email and Wireless Sync
May 31, 2006, 11:04 AM
in the Motorola Q forum

I am hoping a Verizon rep or someone out there with knowledge can help me. Here is my situation, I currently have a Blackberry and use the Blackberry Webclient to push my POP3 email and use the automatic bcc function so that all emails that are sent from my Blackberry eventually end up in my Inbox in Outlook so I have a copy of all sent emails. It appears that you can set up Wireless Sync through ...

Push Email
May 23, 2006, 9:31 AM
in the Motorola Q forum

I have read all of the posts and the answer is still not completely clear. I currently have a Blackberry 7750 and use the blackberry web client to push my pop3 email account. Can you get true "push email" with the Q for a pop3 account through some type of web client or does it only work on exchange server or other email server? Does anyone know if Good runs a web client or does their software only ...

I have read all of the posts and the answer is not clear. I currently have a Blackberry 7750 and use the blackberry web client to push my pop3 email account. Can you get true "push email" with the Q for a pop3 account or do you always need to have a computer on somewhere? On a separte note, does anyone know if the Q can be tethered as a modem like the Blackberry 7130e?

BMR12345. I have to admit that I have seen your posts on many forums and generally don't care for the inane verbal sparring matches that many of the people on these forums tend to get into over a couple of phones - however, I have to agree with you here. In fact, my contract is up with Verizon next month and they called me yesterday on my cell phone to find out if I wanted to renew. ...

Re: CDMA / GSM

in the Verizon forum

Let me just start off by saying that I have been a Verizon customer for almost 4 years. I live in Westchester County, New York which almost demands that you have Verizon due to every other carriers inadequate coverage. However, I recently went to Jamaica and purchased a Nokia 6600 which is a tri-band GSM phone (900/1800/1900) and activated it with ATT Wireless. While Verizon may have better "network" coverage, there is really no comparison with ...
