I hope it Fails
Micro$oft is already big enough, and Nokia as a company would be better off without windows. Its a shame that Elop screwed Nokia the way he did. Had Nokia adopted both Android and Windows, it would be have been very successful. But, it appears that it really is over, and all thanks to the Elop. In fact, this joker outdid the Greeks in the Trojan War and maybe microsoft should write and epic poem for him.
Huawei might have something
I doubt Rockstar would just magically drop a pending suit against a new rising star. I would be willing to bet that somehow Huawei has stolen some data from Rockstar that would hurt that conglemerate if it were to be leaked. Most likely Huawei would keep quiet if Rockstar agrees to drop all suits in present and future.
Its a Shame
I really used to like Nokia, they used to make the best phones til about 2008. Then, it went downhill real fast, especially after the Elop Trojan Horse took over. Since companies are in the business to make money, I don't see how Nokia would have lost anything by making Android alongside Windows, Maego, Meemo, or Symbian. Completely disgusted by the whole Microsoft and Elop deal
Fire Stephen Elop -- Epic Failure of a CEO
This guy has to go go. He single-handedly bankcrupt the largest cell manufacturer. Its clear to everyone in the industry that Elop's loyalties are with his old masters-- microsoft. He has done everything in this power as CEO to ensure that nokia has no other option but to rely on an immature OS thats 2 years behind android and 3 years behind iOS.. Elop doesn't care about nokia at all, he just wants to make sure that Windows platforms ...

Too much Touch
Seems like T-mobile has a problem with touching themselves
Don't Purchase Any current Nokia Windows Devices
The Lumia 900 will not be updated to Windows 8. Its a dead horse, no future. Avoid at all costs. If you really need a windows phone, wait til october or november of this year when the new models come out with windows 8.
While Flash may suck, we still need it now
I personally have always hated flash, it slows down web page loading on my already slow net connection. But a ton of sites are already have it and its going to take a few years before they adopt html5 as such a move is expensive and time consuming.
So in the meanwhile, we will still need flash support in our mobile browsers if we plan on browsing many pages. So why not support it for now until better options ...
Fire Stephen Elop, The CEO of Nokia
It seems that the only real person they should have fired is stephen elop. He has single-handedly destroyed the top cellphone manufacturer. I don't quite understand why the share-holders keeping the same CEO who through a short 1.5 yrs at the helm has resulted in a 68% drop in Nokia's share values.
The only way for Nokia to survive this is to maintain yet minimize its reliance on Windows mobile. Simutlaneously, it must introduce an android line-up which would ...
Congrats Nokia, you will sell 100 phones
This phone is so hot, its gonna do just as well as the Nokia n900. Yea I'm sure you remember the one , with Maemo, the where Nokia lost 50 million on one phone.
So Nokia wants to put out an awesome camera phone, Why not put it in something they're promoting like windows ? Why bother with a dead OS like symbian. Really bizarre. Nokia needs to fire Stephen Elop before he bankrupts the company.
Just Fire Nokia's CEO Stephen Elop
They don't need a lawsuit. All they need to do is fire CEO Stephen Elop. In 3 months they could be turning up both windows and android phones. Let the market determine the fate of Nokia, not some ex-microsoft employee (Elop)
Fire Stephen Elop, The CEO of Nokia
If there is one reason why Nokia is doing so poorly, its because of actions of one man -- Stephen Elop. An ex-Microsoft employee, he compromised Nokia's future by betting it all on windows mobile, a 5th place OS (at the time). Multi-billion dollar companies typically have no feelings, no loyalties per se, and basically just one simple strategy -- do what it takes to make money . If something doesn't work, they dump it. If they ...
Great Idea -- need more phones with this
Having The dedicated calling buttons and keypad is priceless. I wish smartphones still have these. I don't know about most of you folks, but I'm tired of the same iteration of the "perfect" android smartphone from the various manufacturers. They all look the same and have moved in the direction of being completely button-less.
Microsoft&Nokia; Are you taking the Crack
$900 -- seriously ?
Wait, doens't Google own Moto ?
I thought that google now owns the moto division responsible for mobile phones . Why wouldn't their hardware be compatible with software produced from the same company ?
Touch is NOT necessarily Better
I don't know why google thinks that an All touch experience is better. I personally miss having dedicated Call/End Call buttons. Also, a dedicated camera button is functional. I have yet to see a high-end andoid with these 3 buttons. I've had the HTC chacha which was great with the buttons but had ridiculously low memory for application storage. I wish Sony would bring back the P800/P900 serious with Android and the flip keypad-- That would rule.
Beginning of the End for Nokia
Captain Ahab aka steve elop , is determined to get the wale at any cost. Nokia, is unfortunately, a sinking ship and Windows cannot save it. I doubt NOkia will ever produce a single android phone and I am unsure if they will be able to have fully functional port over to these new devices. The devs tried porting to the n900 but it wasn't quite functional.
He was overheard saying their moving to Redmond
Yup, thats right. But Elop is waiting until Nokia's stocks start going down the drain and before his dark overlords at Micro$oft come in for the kill.
Don't be an early adopter
Aside from die hard nokia or windows fans, I hope no actually seriously considers buying this device. The alternatives like ios and android are much more mature OS's and offer tons of more apps. Plus, nokia has a poor history of success with smartphones in the US and I find it hard for them to break this negative image. Most folks in USA associate nokia with the $10 prepaid trackphones and the like.
Wake up Folks, Its the Death Star we're talking about
Seriously, I can't believe some people want this to go through. Can you imagine a bigger AT&T ? There is a reason why AT&T is called the Death Star.
Couldn't Agree More
They rushed the whole thing, trying to keep up with iOS. First, they were going to call it 2.4. But then apple decided they were going to call their release iOS 5, they buckled under pressure and called it android 4 but without any functioning bells and whistles. Even the hardware of the first ics device, the samsung galaxy nexus, was questionable. When htc released the nexus one, it was a leap ahead of other android devices at the ...
Re: If this is the best Nokia can do, then they should quit
Windows 7 mobiles from nokia have just been introduced. But those of HtC and Samsung have been out there and have not been selling to hot. Its the 4th quarter and basically nOkia is pulling a hail mary , but they have a traitor quarterback (elop) who already gave the playbook over (to microsoft).
If this is the best Nokia can do, then they should quit
Seriously, this is ridiculous. They have getting their butts kicked for the past 3 years in the smartphone market and this is the best they can do ? Has nokia ever heard of diversification ? HTC got it, Samsung got it, but Nokia just doesn't get it. Why does nokia think they can outsell all the other OS's when windows 7 has been selling miserably by HTC and Samsung over the past year ? This has nothing to ...
Did they run out of names ??
Seriously, is there a name shortage or something with t-mobile. First they came out with the myTouch 3g from htc. Then there was the Mytouch with headphones slot because the original lacked it. Then the mytouch fender edition which had more ram or something. So far the count is 3 different phones just from HTC so far. Then, they release the mytouch slide. Afterwards, the mytouch 4g and the 4g slide are released. So the count now is 5 ...
Apple is Suing Farmers
Yes, my friends its true. They are also going after farmers who saw increased earnings after the introduction of the ipod. Apple's rationale is that the increased crop yield was a result of the ipod's patented electromagnetic field decreasing the harvest time. And Poor Billy Bob farmer dude thought he was just passing the time on his tractor with his ipod. Come to find out he was irradiating his crops with Apple's patented E-frequency plant growth stimulator.
Already have Whatsapp and Kakaotalk
These two programs are phone number based. They're easy to use and don't need usernames. They work on multiple platforms (android, iOS, blackberry, nokia symbian).
Translation of the Nokia's statement
Ok, this is what they really meant to say
" AFter the shi**y sales the n900 got in the US, there is no way the N9 will be released here ".
Unfortunately, noki'as decided to take a plungle off the deep end. I used to be a nokia fanatic , and now there is no way i would buy another nokia product. In the past nokia used to own the market simply because they had better hardware. Long batery life, ...
I'm still waiting for the Chinese iPhone Clone running iOS
I'm personally waiting for them to run iPhone clones on the real iOS. I wonder what Apple will do when that day comes.
We don't need anymore bs from apple
everyone knows that sim cards could be made smaller. Why do need apple to convince the world the need for a smaller sim card so that next year they can tell us we need another new smaller sim card.
Re: Who else thought of Skynet?!?
Exactly LOL
Thank you Nokia for releasing something useless
Are they on crack ? Their ceo compared their reliance on symbian/maemo/meego to a burning oil platform and a few days later publically announced their windows mobile collaboration project ( and their abandonment of all things symbian/meego ). Then a few weeks later they start playing these tricks, mentioning how they really didn't abandon symbian completely. What type of BS is this ??
Re: F Accenture
So basically, they are handing them off to another company so that in a few months accenture fires them. This makes nokia look better and it can say that it didn't fire 6 thousand employees all at once. A**h*les
Too little too late
Why would anyone want to develop any software for an OS that all the mobile companies dropped ?
As far as the smartphone conversation, symbian is definately a smart OS. It works great for non-touch devices. Anyone that has used an n95 or similar nokia device knows that symbian is a good OS when combined with the right hardware. However, symbian on the nokia touch devices was not so hot.
The n8 is a very capable piece of Hardware, ...
Too late
Why release an app for an OS that will be obsolete in less than 9 months. Nokia has publicly stated that they are dropping symbian for windows.
Re: android
While its true that nokia is biggest manufacturer, they will not be holding the number 1 spot for too much longer. Samsung is gaining quick and in a couple years is expected to overtake nokia. As far as the smartphone market, which is what everyone is interested in, nokia is losing as millions of its users have already switched to other platforms including iOS, android, and blackberry. In the coming months, as the n8 sales fail to meet nokia's ...
Re: Nokia is Beating a Dead Horse...
I agree with most of whats been said. Nokia is indeed 'beating a dead horse' on the touchscreen platform. It doesn't work, few people want it -- they should move on to android. I think nokia may get a clue after their flagship N8 fails to sell. But who knows, this is a company who still thinks the n900 was a great product .
However, I have to disagree with the part about poor battery life/performance. For a normal push ...
Could it be because all Mobile Manufacters have dropped it
Symbian is Dead. Samsung and Sony both fared it goodbye. The biggest Mystery of the Universe is why Nokia insists on still using it.
Nokia's at its inflexion point
If it yields good sales, then Nokia will stay on track churning up more and more symbians. If it fails to accomplish its sales goals ( which is what I think will happen), then Nokia will have to take a long hard look at the mirror and try to figure out why the number one phone manufacturer is producing high-end phones that no one wants.
Too little Too late
This may do well overseas, but it will definately flop here. Keep the specs the same, run Android on it and it will be king.
Re: Fixing the Antennas.
I agree, it makes sense. They have to fix the antenna issues before sending out the next batch.
