Re: A horrible decision by AT&T
T-mobile was voicestream as early as 2002 when i worked for then in portland maine. so not that long ago by any means, and this is just a name change as has been said a million time in this one forum. nobody has to get another plan or anything. will it be confusing? sure. is it the best thing for cingular? i dont know. but in the end its just a stupid name change nothing more. and the funny ...
Re: Only one good thing here...
give up what? making a solid point? i know you dont handle that well circuit city, but that doesnt give you the right to tell me what to talk about thanks.
Re: Only one good thing here...
not too bad but on some higher than others for the same phone.
Re: Only one good thing here...
im not sure if verizon is a member of the ctia but i know that sprint unicel, and cingular all use propagation maps instead of blanket maps and i also know that unicel and cingular have street level maps available for the customer to see.
Re: Only one good thing here...
and by the way i did say that i could , and do show this to every prospect that i talk to and ahve used it many a time to make a sale. thanks
Re: Only one good thing here...
i know all of this already dude, im a t-mobile and cingular agent. and your wrong other carriers do offer detailed maps to the public they just dont put them on their websites. like i said unicel and cingular have street leveled coverage maps as well as t-mobile. do you even know the reason they HAVE TO HAVE THEM? because t-mobile, cingular, and unicel are part of the ctia agreement. so you see mr t-mobile im not as naive ...
Re: Only one good thing here...
you said show you a carrier that had one and showed you two. i could show this to any customer who wants to see it. and you didnt say show me one thats open to the public, did you? how would a customer being able to go on tmobile.com and see a street level coverage map help them any ways? i mean unless they were in the 4 day trial and in that case i could show it to ...
Re: Only one good thing here...
http://csp.cingular.com/cspportal/
you'll need an agent link to log on
Re: Only one good thing here...
cingular and unicel both have them. and cingular had them first.
Re: Read the fine print...
you are exactly right, but dont expect any of the verizon apologist here to agree.
Re: *Right on the nose...
when did it become ok to lie to consumors? when did it become common place for companys to say one thing and do another or better yet promise one thing and deliver another? there is a oft used but not thought of phrase called bait and switch. Verizon and motorola promised one thing and delivered another. i went to buy my v710 and the sales guy said yeah its got bluetooth. i asked if i could sync it with ...
Re: VZW still thinks its 1980 and it is Ma Bell
the problem with not complaining is its like not voting if you dont do anything to change the peoblem you are the problem. I think verizon is probably the second worse cell carrier out there and i worked for them for 2 years. i just think all they care about is the bottom line. there is more to business than the bottom line, at least theres more to good business.
Re: Question
you should go into verizon and get them to confirm you bought your phone before jan 2005 if you did than yes you can be part of the lawsuit. classaction covers anyone in the affected timeperiod or "class" .
Re: Has this been done before?
im sure there were some sort of issues in the past though in my ten years dong this i cant think of one that was as screwed up as this. i mean actually lying to people bold faced??!!! thats weak. I mean i know vzw is pissed they are #2 now and all but there has to be better ways of doing things than lying to people.
Re: Getting out w/o paying ETF again!!!
most agents do have minute rules because there is only a certain amount of time that can be on phone or the manufactures wont take it back and theyd have to sell it as used.
Re: Getting out w/o paying ETF again!!!
it wasnt only motorola it was verizon too. they were both in this togethor. although i have to say for moto that they did make the phone with full bluetooth, but per verizon it was crippld worse than TIMMAY. so that people would have to pay money to do simple things like sending pictures back and forth to other friends. let me tell you if im in the sae room and i have to pay 25 cents to send ...
Re: Getting out w/o paying ETF again!!!
the reason they wouldnt return it is because some jerk off sales person either told them to call motorola. Which was the going line at the time per verizon corp. or they were just told by that same jer off rep that a firmware update was comming out. I myself am too paranoid to believe jerks like that. Since i am a sales rep for another carrier myself. So the people kept their service til the 15 days was ...
Re: Incidentals ..Job Stability....Name change...etc
noone really just taking a lot of what i read and ranting. but if you think about what i said its true ..isnt it?
Re: That was fast.
well nextel is going to scrap iden and the PTT system they have now anyways. so it doesnt much matter how good the sytem they are using now is just the system they are going to is. Which i read that Qchat is going to be very nice.
My biggest thing that ive been wondering is about the coverage issue that both company's have had. Neither company has built out their system to ATT, Cingular or Verizon standards. And if ...
Re: Incidentals ..Job Stability....Name change...etc
The way to avoid the oligopoly is to get involved in making the smaller rural carriers bigger. the way that us cellular jumped on the nationwide scene last year when they turned to cdma and theyve been growing ever since. I happen to work for the 9th largest cell company in the country Rural cellular Corporation. Their DBA's are Cell One, and Unicel. They are switching to gsm this comming up year and they could become a major player ...
Re: Leave Cingular Blue??
thats why you should go into a store to do your business and not do it over the phone they never post things like 18.00 dollars for upgrade online. and in the store theres no need to wait to use your new phone. i think that is what he was trying to tell you.
Re: Huh, Denver?
same for up here in maine Rich-man, no cingular till today wooo hooo now my companys gsm coverage will rock even harder.
Re: How is Sprint affected in all of this?
i dont want to be the jerk, but your only half right in your argument, gsm is the cheaper system than cdma to maintain and to build, and no system cost 1,000,000 per tower. most dont even cost 500,000 per tower. with gsm you can put up 5 -10 foot repeater antennas and you cant with cdma. cdma was designed mostly for rural areas because of the further reaching range of the signal, where as cdma does not work ...
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
hey im on tomorrow if you want to continue the convo, i have some new fino for you to dispute...lol
Re: No...
hey Rich you know a reason why verizon would bid on attws? i was talking to someone here and she swears they did, but then backed out.
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
you have yahoo or aim or anything? so we can keep this conversation going?
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
nice to meet ya.
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
they must have been doing it to drive the cost up because they would have known ahead of time that it would cost as much to win the bid as redo the entire network.
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
also the names Rich. so you dont have to call me cellboy. whats yours and what state are you from?
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
i have not read it but i dont think that whoever wrote it has a true grasp of what they are getting versus what they are losing. for one verizon couldnt have been bidding on a gsm only company because they dont have a gsm service and you canonly own one pcs license in any given market as a company and to own both the gsm and cdma pcs liscense wouldnt happen. two they paid 41 billion for the ...
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
what do you think they are losing? not customers, not rev, not bragging rights, and they get to knock off the seconded biggest competitor in the proccess. what are they losing?
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
verizon purchased the qwest network because qwest is going to use sprints from now on they signed whats called an invo deal meaning that they will elase towers from psrint the same as the new attws and virgin do.
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
the fcc will but not cingular. so kind of a difference in words. cingular wont see any of the rev from those auctions
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
maybe but with all the invo deals sprint has inked latley they might just rent out their towers to other companys like attws, virgin, qwest and a few others. so i think the time for verizon to " snag" them has come and gone. besides that sprint customers dont want to be verizon customers. because sprint has better plans and phones, its their coverage that sucks ass most times, allthough they do have the new no roaming plan. i ...
Re: "What does this mean for customers?"
they dont have to auction it off they just have to release the markets where they have too much. like overlapping markets that both they and attws shared.
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
not only is it crazy its ruined their company which WAS a pretty good one at one time. if they had built their network out and not done that other stuff they would have been verizon before verizon was verizon. because they had the cdma network first and every feature they have they had first, from camera phones to push to talk, to anything, but they were more worried about the fast dollar and they ended up bankrupting the ...
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
well then you know who i work for.
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
sprint is just sleezy, and i worked for them when they first started the no credit check policy. this was like 5 years ago. and they would just give a phone to any 18 year old that was willing to sign a contract. then they wonder howcome their stock dropped 10 bucks and 7 eleven is worth more than them now. its because the people dont pay the bills and they have tons of money in collections, and lost ...
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
that depends on what kind of favorite.
i make the most money where im at now, but i had the most freedom at attws, id say every company is roughly the same. i disliked working for sprint the most.
Re: DOES THIS MEAN THAT THEIR SERVICE WILL BE BETTER
also have you heard of cellular one? or unicel? that is the dba for rcc
