No savings with new plans.....
From what it looks like, yes you'll get an addtional 1GB on something like the existing 15GB data plan and the plan fee would go down $10. However if what I've read is true the monthly device charge would go up from $15/phone (on 15GB data plan) to $20/phone. If you have 4 lines you'll save $10 on the plan but pay $20 more for the device charge netting AT&T an extra $10/month. #FAIL

I'm not sticking up for RIM but wouldn't that be an "act of God" or force majeure as stated in some contracts?
For example if cable goes does and service gets interrupted they'd still bill you the full monthly plan, right? And I don't recall reading about and class action lawsuits against Comcast for service interruption. Now whether or not you call and negotiate a credit from them is a different story.

Costs passed on to consumers
SO with all these law suits against all these manufacturers, I wonder if it would eventually have an impact on costs to consumers when buying any one of these company products (ie Samsung, Rim, HTC, etc).
Some of these companies may have some sort of insurance for this but ultimately legal costs keep escalating and eventually puts pressure on company profits, which in turn forces companies to raise prices.

Cedarstud, I just came across 2 apps that would sync your itunes to the "cloud" and then you can play your itunes from anywhere.
MP3Tunes or Homepipe. Seem promising. Avoids having to physical sync of itunes to the phone.

I've been using an HTC Aria (Android) and have been using doubletwist to sync music with playlists. However it takes a long time to sync for some reason.
If anyone else has a better way I would appreciate an alternative. The way it is now, kinda sucks......

Look.....compare apple to apples.....
Assume I need a phone and I want to switch to Tmobile, what I'm saying is in that case (which would be typical for all new customers TMo is trying to sign up) I'd pay about 100 for unlimited voice text and web. I'd pay the same (wouldnt have unlimited voice, but would make up for I with A-list) with AT&T.
Tell me plain and simple where are the savings for new customers?????

Actually I do understand. The price you're quoting is based on either 1) already with TMobile 2) brought in a tmobile compatible phone.
That unlimited 79.99 doesn't apply for someone that needs a new phone, while trying to come in. If you buy a phone subsidized the monthly will cost 99.99 as I mentioned. That sao there's no real savings to new customers, which is what Tmobile is trying to get, right?

I'm sure you've had many customers change their plans to save $$. However wasn't the intention behind Project Black to gain subscriptions? I'm sure you've had some non-Tmobile customers inquiring but have you had many closings? That's the true measure if how good the deal is right??

I'm happy that it works for you. Read a lot of other posts how people don't see this as earth shattering.
By the time you take voice and add data and text, cause that's the trend, you're already at $110, which you would pay the same at AT&T, a much bigger network.
On a side note........think about how long it took tmobile to finally add unlimited in network calling(free)?

What kind of overpaid marketing and accounting morons thought of these plans?
Every carrier out there has some kind of "my faves" plan.....AT&T has A-list with rollover and Verizon has it's friends and family. Why in the world would TMobile go backwards?
With these plans, you definitely don't get any more than you would with AT&T, who to me has always been way more expensive than TMobile.

I'd been with TMobile for about 6 years before and made the jump to AT&T.
Well I'm not happy with the many dropped calls I get with AT&T. Was interested in coming back to TMobile and looking for some type of similar touch screen device.

2) do emails get delivered to the phone or do you have to ...

I didn't reference that TMo needs touch screen phones. I said they have alot more phones that are entry level.
They're slow to get new phones that are mid tier or upper end. T
Highest end phone is G1. No new WinMo phones, G1 higher end but didn't do too well. No new Blackberries....and the blackberries they have, they're slow to release the new software that every other carrier offers for theirs.

If you installed 4.5, you need to remove your email service books from the phone. Then set them up again with a fresh set of service books....should work then. I had the same problem and once I did that, HTML emails began to work.
Make sure you have each email account setting to allow HTML.
If you are using BES service, then you either need to have your provider (email provider) or IT dept enable it.
Phone is garbage
Had the phone for 2 days. Couldn't return it fast enough.
Software was laggy and very buggy. It was a drama to just type a text message.

So I've been with Tmobile for 6 years and never in all that time was I insulted as I was just the other day.
I wanted to install the new Curve 4.5 software and I did so all on my own. However all the new features worked except viewing HTML emails. So I called TMobile to talk to their Blackberry Support to see if there was something I missed.

AT&T's Policy on new handsets
I'm thinking of coming over to AT&T and wanted to know how they tread new handsets that you buy through them.
Do they typically have a 1 year warranty that if I have a problem with the phone (ie a button doesn't catch well or screen stops work) not a result of my usage, do they have a phone swapping program where they send a replacement phone and then I send the defective back?

Google Sync installation
Anyone have luck installing Google Sync (for calendar) on the 8120?
I've had it on my old pearl and even on my curve.
When I tried to install it on my new 8120, I get a warning that tells me it can't be installed because it's not "secure"???

I had a problem with my blackberry and on the third time they wanted to give me a DASH. I refused it b/c I don't like the Dash.
