does anyone realize that att is already rolling in cash, enough to buy t-mobile and anything else they wanted 10 times over, idk why they would be like "gotcha!" after the t-mobile merger and raise there price, they already make plenty of money.

"As well, by doing a limited release they can have, in a sense, a controlled test group, and also limit the strain on the server while the determine how much people will use it and how much bandwidth they (netflix) needs to support a full on mobile app like this." finally a good answer, verizon and htc had no idea how to answer my question. but luckily i rooted my phone and got netflix for my thunderbolt. new android apps only for specific phones?
Jul 4, 2011, 9:58 PM

Im just curious if anyone has a legit answer for why the new apps only release for specific device. I know that their are many different versions of android, but why would it not be across the board for all phones on a specific type of android. like when they came out with netflix for the incredible which runs 2.2 and the other on the list run 2.3, why would other phone that run 2.2 or 2.3 not be ...

new htc sense / gingerbread
Jun 20, 2011, 4:51 PM
in the Development forum

So i have a rooted htc thunderbolt, I just found a custom rom called thunderstick verison 1.2.9, This has the new htc sense set up which is much improved from 2.0, The lock screen is awsome, and the drop down allows for more on the fly changes like turning on wifi, or turing off mobile network. The rom is made with android 2.3 gingerbread, the phone runs much smoother and i can glide through apps and screens. MY favorite ...

I found out that you have to have a custom kernel installed that is able to work with whichever ROM you are using, and is an overclock kernel. Then you can use CPU overclock app to set it higher. without the kernel only lets you set the speed to 1ghz max.

Im personally not a big fan of moto loved the razr but nothing else since. should look into htc offerings for verizon. like the htc incredible my favorite phone or the new incredible 2. both have 8mp cameras on the back. and the incredible 2 has a forward facing camera, or the current phone i have the htc thunderbolt which i also love. 8mp camera and 1.3mp camera on the front. lte speeds in lte areas, and a very ...

well i did apologize for being wrong on the lte. which i was mis informed at the call center i am at. And the fact that he was right means that att is a rip, they basicly sell advanced 3g devices as 4g. And no were in the device tutorials shows were you can turn the 3g data connection off on a WM7 device. And you are also incorrect that its a windows phone 7. Since you like to ...

100% no doubt when it comes out, its going to be the htc sensation. first dual-core snapdragon processor, new htc lockscreen and gingersense. 8mp camera, hspa+ data speeds and the highest resolution LCD screen in a phone so far.

They even mentioned the dropping on the phonescoop review. Its so thin and large and its got some pretty smooth cheap plastic for the edges. The plastic on the back in rough but since the phones is pretty big your hand doesnt touch the rough plastic part to get grip. Still I really like the device, I have had only htc's and i preferr htc but I think the infuse is definitly a winner if I switched to att ...

Its not that they took it away its whatever line that was eligible for it, had to have had something changed like your overall rate plan or your employee discount changed, Or an individual feature changed on the line.

yup android being open source plays nice with about everything. Anything that may be missing from your android that you would like do to, there is more than likely an app for it. Which is why the WM7 is lacking until they catch up there are almost no apps avaible yet.

ive never heard a good story come from someone with a windows phone 7 or earlier. i will not get one unless there are some major improvements, such as a way to stop apps in the background currently no task killer or app closer of any kind. Also their is no way to turn data completely off on the line it has a constant connect with 3g. And my biggest thing is that it comes with all the standards ...

So something I would like to hear some feed back on, their are alot of die hard apple/ iphone fans and alot of new android fans. I personally like android for the fact that you have the ability to create widgets and manage most apps from the home screen instead of having to open each one up. The other think i really like about android is that, were it come to syncing media you do not have to jump ...

I personally dont consider HSPA+ 4g, but t-mobile, att, and the fcc consider it 4g, and it is faster than regular 3g atleast. honestly though and i know imma get hated for this. att regular 3g vs verizon 3g att has faster 3g speeds. now that hspa+ will be over most of the network means even more speed and then lte on top of that.

Also the carriers require a data plan, but there is always an option on the phone itself to turn data services off, which updates would still come through but apps in the background would not run data. and its also a great way to save battery. for example the htc thunderbolt people who complain about low battery do not realize they can make a widget an turn data off and on so they are not constantly connected to lte. ...
