So, in other words ... 299.99 before mail in rebate?
Seems a bit steep.
Re: wow no updates necessary,...verrrry good!
Hahahaha. I was reading the article over and over like, "WTF is this guy saying?" lol.
Good to know you're smarter than that. lol.
Sort of on Topic, but sort of not
Dude holding the Photon4G... you need some lotion for your thumb.
Much love anyways. lol. 8)
Re: wow no updates necessary,...verrrry good!
What the hell are you talking about?
Re: So...lemme get this straight....
lol. Are you surprised?
Re: yes....YES....
This happened with Verizon a while back as well. I love how people try and compare companies ... like one is less shady. They're major corporations with ties into government... they're all out to get you, not just one company. It's like when people vote and pick the lesser of two evils... they're both evil... one just has a cooler suit.
Re: QWERTY Android
Eh, to each his/her/shis own.
I agree, though. I think there needs to be more android devices with a physical QWERTY keyboard.
If you can save some extra cash I reccomend the MotoFlipside. Android 2.1 with qwerty keyboard. Not a bad device.
You can grab them on e-bay for pretty cheap.
The Majority vs The Minority
98% of people use less than 2GB of data. That means 2% of smartphone owners are going over the 2GB. I'm sure it's a fairly large number considering all of AT&T's customers... but, it's not like you're getting charged per KB used once you go over. It's 10 bucks per GB after that.
The next plan up is 5GB for 60 or 50 bucks depending on if your device is 3G or 4G.
And WIFI is everywhere... I ...
Re: There is no such thing as unlimited data.
That's seriously the dumbest analogy I've ever heard. First off... food is in constant supply for a buffet. SO, you can promise ALL YOU CAN EAT. And most buffets will kick you out if you have been there longer than 3 hours. So, your analogy fails on two levels.
Re: Dillusion
My question is how did the FCC get this powerful? It's just an annoyance bleeping curse words and controlling our every move. They are useless from a consumer standpoint.
I say get rid of the FCC and have America take a vote. Yes or No. Just check a box.
So....
Who has forgotten what this article was about? *raises hand* Guess I'll go read it.
Re: consumer reports
lol.
I don't trust consumer reports. There's so many other great outside sources to judge products on.
Re: Can they leave T-Mobile alone now?
lol. Guess not.
Re: AT&T ISN'T PLAYING AROUND...
Well, there are people who write good reports. It's just slightly more rare. I've been in retail (phones, clothes etc) for 11 years on and off. Ever wonder why managers rarely take a complaint seriously? If the manager knows your work ethic, they will disguard any complaint.
Re: AT&T ISN'T PLAYING AROUND...
Yeah, that makes sense.
There's just a lot of DUMB people in the world. Another example is the Android market. Great applications suffer 3 star ratings due to stupid consumers. Alot of Home Replacement Aps (Launchers, which I use because I get so bored with the standard TW Launcher) get poor ratings because, "I cannot find in my aps" etc. Makes me scream, "It's a LAUNCHER!!!!!!!"
It's just hard to take consumer reports seriously. A ...
Re: AT&T ISN'T PLAYING AROUND...
Another way to think of it...
How many negative user reviews on phonescoop make kind of rediculous claims?
For instance, the Pantech Persuit got a User Review that said the screen just cracked... I'm willing to bet that's a bit of a stretch. Really? Your kid didn't press to hard on the screen or drop it? Suuuuure.
Plus, out of context any phone can be a peice of crap... just like any company can be. If I wanted ...
Re: AT&T ISN'T PLAYING AROUND...
Yup:) 8) :P
Re: Can they leave T-Mobile alone now?
Well, it's not millions... but it's a pretty nice amount. Not all of us can be rich like you. lol.
Re: Do not think so...
This isn't a big deal... AT&T is a main share holder... it's kind of like if I'm borrowing your ipod because you got a new one... I'm gonna give you some money for letting me keep it a while, and eventually give you more money.
Re: uhh what?
It also had nothing to do with what you just said. You know what else it has nothing to do with... Big League Chew. Are we talking about that? No.
You see, there's this thing that happens in conversations and/or threads online. The topic tends to evolve into another topic and so on. Sooooo... now I want Big League Chew.
Re: I love the double standard
No joke. I never said AT&T cares about me. I pay them, they let me upgrade every two years or so. Pretty simple transaction. If I wasn't happy with AT&T I'd go to some other corporate monster.
It's all the same.
Re: To what end?
Verizon is next in line.
Re: AT&T ISN'T PLAYING AROUND...
Let me put it this way... how many GREAT experiences have you written companies about?
Now, how many bad experiences have you written companies about?
Consumer reports = innacurate.
Re: Can they leave T-Mobile alone now?
Dude, destroy jobs? T-mobile employees will either get a HUGE check if they lose their jobs or get a HUGE check if they work for AT&T. Seems like a win win.
Re: The real question...
Sony loves updates, and knowing that company... there's probably something on the device that inhibits purchasing games once rooted. It's Sony... they're crazy.
Meh...
4G isn't real, it's a marketing ploy. That's not to say it won't be real in the near future... but, for those of you buying the "latest" and "Greatest" 4G devices... don't waste your time. Well, I mean, the devices claiming to be 4G are great devices... but, in 2 or 3 years you'll be upgrading to a real 4G device... so, that being said... I lost my train of thought.
Hmmmm... these numbers need an "*" next ...
Re: Seems
lol. Yeah, that's like the oldest trick in the book. Verizon uses it as well. It's just a marketing thing. I feel like Bill Hicks on marketing people. Youtube it.
Re: I love the double standard
Couldn't have said it better myself.
I've been with AT&T for a long time, and I'm friggin' happy they are building their network, getting high end phones (other than the iphone) and really attempting to have the best network available. It's about damn time. Kudos, AT&T.
Re: I have an Apple question
Because it keeps the doctor away?
Re: Wow
I agree with TBone. There's nothing wrong with the X10. Most of my buddies who ended up with that phone (a penny at best buy) love it.
The processor wouldn't handle Froyo, I'm willing to bet on that. But for what the X10 is... it's a great phone. SE has consistantly makes great phones... even when flip and/or slide phones were the way of the world.
Re: Webos phones are a joke(not really)
This wasn't a positive post on WebOS...
I personally don't like WebOS, and I wish the competition was paying me. lol.
I have friends with the Pre, it's a nice phone ... Web OS just isn't my bag.
Re: Sam The Eagle says, "You are all weirdos!"
I've worked for every carrier, corporate and authorized retailer. And Sam The Eagle is awesome. lol.
Re: Context, context, context
I get the feeling Steve Jobs would recieve a lot of kidney shots. It's ok, though. He can just buy another one.
Re: Laughing
Hahahahahahah! Nice. :-)...
Re: I find it somewhat insulting
True. But 48 MB isn't enough to change a 16GB phone to a 14GB phone. The captivate, fresh out of the box, as is, equals 13.2 GB I believe (don't quote me). This means that 3 GB of bloatware is taking up some major space.
Then again, you can buy a 32 GB card and BAM.
Re: Context, context, context
I say we just put the ceos of EVERY player (ie Steve Jobs of Apple and his gang of miscreants, MOTO's peeps, LG, Samsung, etc) in an octogon and see who wins.
I'd watch it.
Re: Does anyone remember the tablets...
Point being directed back at the article. Law suits. If I remember right, the HP tab (released years before the ipad) was VERY similar in design... so, HP should sue everyone. lol.
I do agree that the new tabs are a zillion times better, but if Apple can sue for a design similarity then so can HP, LG, Gateway etc.
Re: Sam The Eagle says, "You are all weirdos!"
One more thing ... I'm sure you are employeed somewhere and have specific customers you just can't stand. It happens in every business, including health care... As a whole, I have great customers. But when some idiot interrupts me while I'm with a paying customer to ask questions about the merger... that's when I say, "I'm sorry, you'll have to wait in line"
Re: Sam The Eagle says, "You are all weirdos!"
I was calling everyone on phonescoop weirdos, and quoting from Muppets. Sam The Eagle... duh. Should I call the Wahmbulance? Plus, I don't work for corporate AT&T, so there goes your theory.
I personally take a lot of time with customers, call them back 3 months later to make sure their phones are great and see if there's anything they need (internet service on their phones, at their house, accessories etc.) for a discounted bundled price. You know ...
Re: I find it somewhat insulting
Word.
I was going to wait a year before I root... then an Otterbox scratched my phone by putting slight scratches at the bottom of the screen. This was my Q to not care anymore, but I still haven't rooted my phone.
I've also found that GoLauncher and other replacement homes have the capability to hide any ap you want hidden. It's nice, but it does not free memory.
I'm just tired of a 16 GB phone only ...
