Re: News brief says Sprint users can now share messages with users on all major national carriers?

This is the article explaining where cingular and sprint had interpolability.
Re: ALREADY!!! (But do we mind? Hell no...)
It is a nice phone but could they do something about that awful color.
Re: Definatlly a chick phone (Call me girlie, then...)
I don't really see any problem with that personally.
Re: Noteworthy
oh trust me with ebay, you always give it breathing room. But I honestly didn't have any problems with the predessor, but maybe im just crazy.
Re: Noteworthy
This is officially IMO the best looking clamshell out there. And the features look excellent. Once this baby comes out I'm going to get one for my rogers service with or without the 850 band.
Re: what a waste
exactly
Re: Nifty
I didn't say it was. What i meant was to use Voip you would have to pay the wifi charges for using a hot spot or the monthly service from your boradband provider. Even if you decided to use voip with your cell phone's bluetooth you would still pay the data charges.
Re: what a waste
But think about it this way though. lets say i have a CDMA carrier enabled bluetooth phone. this way my cdma phone can be used as a modem for this device and with out increasing the cost of the device for having edge they can sell more units.
Re: Nifty
granted voip you still pay for the broadband connection in most areas

They've already stated previously that they are going to concentrate a lot on CDMA products this year (and I'm sure next year). Maybe there'll be a series 60 CDMA phone that handles N-Gage games next year? You never know.
And I don't see why not. They are definitely headed in that direction
Re: I WANT IT
CDMA is completely different from WCDMA. If any thing it is a beefed up version of TDMA and/or GSM.It doesn't even use the same hardware as CDMA. And Iden has less coverage than sprint does, and it is a slower technology.
Re: Don't forget the fine print!
I honestly must disaggree. Its almost like saying that the growth of a city is successful due to its large amount of gang controlled areas. The true seller of the web originally was email
Re: data plane high
actually on a PDA with cingular it now only 39.99. With a PC card its 79.99.
Re: Big Deal!!
Any GSM prepaid actually. And since GSM is currently the largest standard, they are just going to sell more units this way.
Just wondering?
DOes the release of this phone mean a price drop on an X700. Just curious.
Re: If these phones are 3G
ACtually check again. It has says that the Us speds are not anounced. It is very possible this could be part of the first few phones released for 3g in the US.
Re: Yet another nice new Cingular phone.
actually those TDMA towers would be shut down and used for making GSM towers eventually since Cingular own AT&T's old TDMA network. And if anything they would be given to Altel or Suncom, which are the companies taking over the customer that weren't given in the merge. I mean honestly, what would a CDMA carrier do with an old TDMA network,
Re: Yet another nice new Cingular phone.
I have a question about verizon's AC plan. If you leave verizon's network do you get roaming charges in some areas. Or is it like Cingular which is no roaming no matter what network your on as long as your in the US.
Re: question!!
thats what i just said. but in different words.
Re: question!!
Dont't you mean colors, not pixels. Because 320x256 is 81,920 pixels.
Re: thanks!
actually just to know that it also works on siemens too and it won't turn off the phone if the keypad is locked
Re: Rip Off
Totally true. I just bough calling cards while i was in Ukraine for three weeks, but it would of been nice not to have to use another one every two minutes.
Review oversite
I thought everyone should know that if you press and hold the end key while it is locked it will light up and show the home screen that you have set up for phone without unlocking it.
Re: Rip Off
But in comparison though to other amercan carriers their prices are pretty good. Their competition isn't prepaid simcards.

Israel $0.69
Western Europe $1.49
Caribbean $1.49

Re: Since when is stainless steel a "luxury metal"???
Actually you should be able to get a samsung P777 for about 100$ less through customer care, the local store, or through the Cingular website. It does have the megapixel camera but it just wasn't listed in the previous post.
Re: Durability?
I must honestly disaggree on the breaking very easily. I bought a Siemens SL56 and it still works just fine, and the slider doesn't even feel lose at all. Plus I have a friend with the kyocera slider that only started getting loose after dropping down a flight of stars. I aggree they could be brittle, but only if you don't know how to take care of a cell phone.
Re: remake of the first matrix phone?
he said first matrix, not the last two
Re: VZW Prepaid
from the looks of it there is a chance that this isn't going to be prepaid at all.
Re: Whoa!
I think he ment it would be slow coming out, not that the service itself will be slow.
Re: GSM!?
Actually I think the only reason it is government mandated is that there was no CDMA(or was in early developement) when they started building their GSM network.
Re: T-Mobile release?
Those things aside it is still a very nice phone for an entry level to mid level camera phone. I don't see the problem with releasing a phone with edge before it is available, that just means it is there you'll have it available. And the extra band, who really cares, it just might not be there.
Re: noone cares
Actually In europe they are quite popular.
Re: Here they are.
I've used both the M55 and the SL56 and have found no problems with these phones. I especially like the sound quality of the M55. I'd still be using it if someone wouldn't of swiped it.
Here they are.
Finally, some more options available for siemens that will never be released here
Re: So many choices, so little time...
Would you like a hero cookie for that.
Re: Umm
touche... I think i generalized a little too much there. Its actually more like if they released the PS2 before releasing games for it.
Re: Umm
But in another thought, they already had released a slew of playstation games and a whole bunch playstation ones that are probably showing their age.
Re: Hey, how about that...it's written right there...
Rogers Wireless in Canada  but usually if rogers has it, Cingular has it 5 monthes earlier.
