I like my Captivate as well but everything about this new phone is amazing. The only thing the Captivate MiGHT have on it is the Super AMOLED screen, which is pretty awesome I have to admit. I'm definitely gonna try to get the Atrix.
Why do you say that this phone wont be able to be rooted? And Motorola doesnt lock down their phones as much as its the providers. SPECIALLY AT&T!

What version of Android are you running? You have the OG android device, so your O.S. version might not be compatible.

If you are within the first 30 days then you should be able to return it for a brand new one for free. Not 100% sure but it would surprise me if it werent. Act quick before time runs out.

honestly im apprehensive about making the move. Just to lock yourself in for 2 years for something that is so un-established is kinda risky. If I WERE to move to a Win7 phone I would do it next year after a few of my friends have tried it and I can get my hands on an actual phone.

I just read all of the comments in this thread and it's sad to hear all of the conflicting situations. you guys are all supposed to be on the same team. Ever since I started reading phone scoop ive been kinda cautious of when I go to the ATT store near my house, and even when I call customer service.
You guys all need to get on the same page so you can let the customer feel more comfortable about ...

Thats actually not a bad idea. I wouldnt mind paying the $20, MIR are a pain in the ass. IT kinda sucks that ATT banks on the customer to forget or mess up the rebate so profit a little more....

And what if I dont have the receipt? I think you already answered me this before but thanks again. I believe you said they keep copies of the receipt for 3 years? So hopefully that is the same with ATT stores. I really want to get this fixed because I am probably going to cancel my account when my contract is over in December. And might go to Spring or Verizon.

I was gonna go to the retailer that messed up my upgrade a few months ago, it was never reversed after I took the phone back within the 30 day period.
I am an authorized user on the account. I just want to make sure I have everything before I get there so I can get this settled. What will I need?

damn, I was afraid of that.... I tried looking for the receipt but cant find it. I did call customer service when I first noticed they never removed the contract extension and I told the lady over the phone what happened. I was able to verify that that 'upgraded' line was using the older phone with some serial number under the battery.
And the upgrade was done in-store from a retailer. Do they keep copies of the receipt?

I'm behind you Toasty. Glitch or not that's what was offered to you. You're probably not the only person who purchased to phone for the incorrect price. I remember your original post and I remember seeing it as well. I almost jumped on the deal as well. No, it's actually terrible. sometimes it gets slow here and I only have access to a few sites. Ive read every page on those sites and they hardly ever get updated.
