Re: Authorized Retailers
I used to work for Sprint (hence the username), but I now work at DirecTV in a customer care center and have the dubious pleasure of partnering with ATT so our customers can have a phone/internet/satellite bundle. ATT corp agents are usually sweet, even if they don't know what they're doing, but auth retailers are terrible. I actually had one refuse to let DTV sales place a customer's order because she would lose the sales credit. When I pointed ...
Re: SPRINT iPHONE!!!!!!
That explains why it's rumored to eat stars to charge its battery.
SPRINT iPHONE!!!!!!
Yes, you heard it here FIRST. Apple is making a CDMA iPhone and will be releasing it by April 2011.
The entire phone will be carved out of one large diamond. The touchscreen is psychic; as soon as you THINK about touching something, the phone responds. It waives its own upgrade and activation fees. If you're about to go over your spending limit, it turns into a fireball so you can't use it. You will never have to call customer ...
Nobody Listens to...
the NIV. It's a poser. 8)
there is nothing really wrong with iDEN
other than the fact we don't do anything with it. the phones are solid (seriously, Motorola devices are nearly invincible and the reception is unparalleled), the coverage is pretty widespread, and PTT is a very useful feature for people who use their Nextel phone for work.
but I am not surprised to see this happening. they didn't bother to train me on iDEN devices when I came here last December and the few reps that do handle those phones aren't ...
Yes!
This is wondrously exciting for me. :D
your mom...
eh?
boonies? what about...
upstate New York, pretty much all of Louisiana that isn't New Orleans, western Florida, most of Maine, anything in Nevada that isn't Las Vegas or Reno, etc.?
Verizon has pretty awesome coverage in the Southeast US, second only to Sprint, so...yeah. this is not unprecedented.
Re: West Virginia is a perfect case study
I've always wondered why wireless technology was not tested in places such as my home state of West Virginia more often. 85% of our population is concentrated within a 90 minute or less drive from Charleston, there's plenty of open land to build towers on, and the hills (while formidable) are not so insurmountable as the Rockies. If your tech works here, it will work just about anywhere and if it does not, you didn't lose as much money ...
Re: Dear Customer
Just don't take it personal when they make it personal. You're getting paid for your expertise, not your feelings.
Re: Blame Canada
Excessive international roaming?
That one...might actually be Canada, if you live near the border. oops!
*crickets*
pun SO intended.
Sprint ID
Apparently you can pick and choose what parts of the ID packs you want to keep, so that should keep your phone from being full of bloatware.
I am rather concerned that the My ID function, which is pre-installed and cannot be removed, may drain the battery. I guess we'll see.
Re: *facepalm*

there's no such thing as a nice werewolf!
*facepalm*
Since almost every Asian person I talk to is in Order Support or Telesales, when I got this little Chinese woman just now, at the end of the call I told her to "have a good shift."
Re: iphone4 or evo?
nice! does this work with any company, or just AT&T?
Re: iphone4 or evo?
if you are going to go with the iPhone, I would recommend getting a leather case for it and a screen protector. that's really almost better than having insurance.
Re: iphone4 or evo?
the iPhone 4 is almost completely made of glass. you'll probably break it too. and from what I've heard, it's a NIGHTMARE to get insurance replacements on any Apple product.
all joking aside...
this may happen when AT&T's exclusive contract with Apple ends in 2012. Apple has realized that Android is spanking them because every carrier has at least one Android.
Re: Does anyone here work for SPRINT (call center) ?
It is a magical, beautiful device.
Re: Does anyone here work for SPRINT (call center) ?
Essentially, you're gonna have to wait for the Airave to get back in stock, which won't be until 2011. And then you'll have to fight to get one without shelling out extra money for it. Sorry, dude; it's a pretty difficult situation you're in.
Re: Another Great Name...
Garrett Begay, pronounced "buh-gay". I cannot imagine how awful middle school must've been for that guy.
Re: What pisses you off the most about call center/store reps [flame on]
where did you get the idea there are no outsourced reps on phonescoop? I'm third party collections/care and I know for a fact several other regular posters are.
Factory Resetting a Blackberry
...sucks! I need to go to the bathroom and the phone just finished wiping after fifteen minutes.
Re: "My phone sizzled and turned off!"
That's what you get for trying to fix roast Evo.
Re: Blame Canada!
Joben? Blame Canada.
Re: Blame Canada!
Daniel Craig as Bond? Canada.
Re: for all you SPRINT CUSTOMERS
$25? that's it? man.
Re: Number Change fee
we don't charge to change your number, but you can only do it 3 times in 30 days and you can't pick a particular PTN; it's totally random.
Re: If one more custamer...
getting the same customer three times in a row and them not taking 'no' for an answer.
Re: I talked to her too!
triflin' people. always switching carriers and junk.
Re: OHHHH...
lol I was 18 when we got married and I was pretty skinny then. apparently I am now preferable in my slightly overweight state? I don't understand men.
My Time Travel Wish
Have relations with my hubby when he was seventeen and not balding or fat. :P
I talked to her too!
I think I just called her "Ms. Sims" the whole time, though.
HD2's
are a beast!
Re: Blame Canada!
High call volume? Canada's fault. They're bouncing all the calls.
I usually don't read my user guide
I just touch everything on the phone and figure out where stuff is. It's probably harder for older people who haven't had computers/smartphones/MP3 players/handheld gaming systems/etc all their lives.
Re: Telesales Reps (Sprint)
Unless it's a Nextel phone, there is no SIM card.
Happy Ending to this Story!
Went to Best Buy, they were out of the Samsung Strive and had only one Pantech Link. I was gonna get that one, but it ended up being a lemon, so the manager was super-nice and let me get a Pantech Ease for $10! I am so happy with my cute little old-person phone. The touchscreen is nice and the keyboard makes texting soooo much easier. My only complaint is that there's no music player, but since I have ...
Plan Compatibility
Cst: This $150 a month is too high, I can't do that.
Me: Well, unfortunately, since you have an HTC Hero and an HTC Evo, this is the cheapest plan we can put you on.
Cst: Do you all have any cheaper plans?
Me: Yes we do, but we could not activate your phones on them.
Cst: But I have the $10 data pack on my Evo. Can't I just add data on the other line?
Me: The $10 premium data charge is not ...
