Re: Email & Calls over Wi-Fi?
Aug 23, 2010, 4:48 PM
in the BlackBerry Torch 9800 forum

BES will work over wifi, that is you will be able to get emails, send BBMs, and browse the web. Calls will not work through wifi because AT&T doesn't support UMA. T-Mobile is the only carrier that supports UMA, which allows you to place/receive calls and send/receive SMS and MMS. Hope this helps.

I don't use a lanyard, but there is a hole on the left side which seems like that what it's for.

$299 - $100 (mail-in rebate) = $200 with 2 year extension.

Yeah. Call 611 and the CSR should be able to upgrade you without any issues. Some people have been saying that not all CSR's will do it for you, so just keep trying. I got mine on the first try, some people have had to call 3-4 times to get a CSR who would do it for them.

Sync on Mac.
Oct 23, 2008, 11:28 AM
in the HTC G1 forum

Does anyone know what the syncing situation is for mac users. I went to a T-Mobile store yesterday, and really liked the device after playing with it for like 10 minutes. However, they are pretty clueless when it comes to syncing the phone with a mac, or a pc for that matter. I have all of my contacts in Address Book and calendar events in iCal. I don't want to have to switch to web based Google calendar/contacts just so ...

Re: Voice Dialing on 8120
May 2, 2008, 12:34 PM
in the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 forum

I don't have the 8120, but i have the 8100. Since the user interface is largely unchanged I am quite sure in my answers. "Independent" means that the phone has voice recognition software where you do not need to (and cannot) record your voice to use the feature. That said, I can assure you that the recognition is quite better and more advanced than the Nokia phone. In my experiences as long as you are in a quite place (e.g., ...

REFUND CHECKS!!!
May 24, 2006, 9:41 AM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Has anyone actually received their refund checks? The form said that the refund will be sent out within 30 days of the receipt of phone. My phone was received by the Settlement Administrator way back in mid-April, but I haven't gotten anything back yet. Thanks in advance for your responses.

You can deffinitely purchase it for him. What Verizon will probably do is put it initially on your line of service. When you get the phone just call Verizon and activate your service on the v3c and your family member's line on the replacement phone.

Re: RELEASE DATE!!!!!!!!
Mar 22, 2006, 10:33 AM
in the Motorola ROKR E2 forum

I'm also pretty sure that this will be released on Cingular, as I have mentioned in my previous posts. However, I do not believe that it will be released within the next few weeks. Mobilebee states that the availability periods are estimated. The reason why it seems to be April 1, is because Phonescoop and other sites said that ROKR E2 will come out in Q1 2006, thus April 1st the latest. However, if you read Motorola's website they state ...

Re: Is this phone going to come to Cingular?
Feb 27, 2006, 10:44 AM
in the Motorola ROKR E2 forum

I highly doubt that a rep will know what Cingular plans to do. I think this sort of thing is decided much higher up in the company and no rep will be consulted for their opinions. Thus I don't think that a rep is a reliable source. Further, I believe the contrary that Cingular will carry this phone. The SLVR is an exact copy of the ROKR E1 in a sexier body (so to speak). While the E2 is a ...

Feb 24, 2006, 5:00 PM
in the Motorola SLVR L7 forum

I think you missed the point! Re-read the question and see why your answer doesn't make sense. The problem is that the Category/Contact ringer ID overrides the sound settings, not only for calls, but for text messages as well. If you take off the custom ringer ID, then you have the same ring tone for all your callers (which sucks!!!) BTW, I have the same problem with my PEBL. When I called Moto, they said that the phone is set ...

I called motorola yesterday, and they told me they have no clue as to when the ROKR E2 will come out. But SUMMER!!! Really? That sux!!! I have a feeling that they told you that because their site says ''first half of 2006.'' I'm hoping phoonescoop is right by classifying it as ''first quarter of 2006.''

It should work just fine. Call MoviStar and they will activate it for you. It should be as painless as that. Oh, they will probably need the ESN number ready, which is on the sticker under the battery. -Matt

I don't think anyone has a release date yet... What bothers me is teh fact that PhoneScoop said First Quater, but all other websites, including motorola.com, have the release date as "first half of 2006".

Problems with Cingular!!!
Feb 13, 2006, 10:45 AM
in the Motorola PEBL U6 forum

As I understand, the phone works fine on Cingular, but for all the functions to work properly browser settings have to be changed. Can someone who has done this post here the exact procedure to follow. SO that future users will be able to do this quickly and painlessly!!! Thank you!!! PS. Has anyone got their MMS working on Cingular? It should work once the browser settings are correct, however this doesn't seem to be the case for many users.

Re: Work in Cingular
Feb 4, 2006, 11:43 AM
in the Motorola PEBL U6 forum

Um.... I would say go to a dealer that sells both T-Mobile and Cingular, they will know if it's possible to configure the phone to fully function on the Cingular network. It might be the case that you can't, but most likely they would know a way around it. Good Luck!!! PS. Let us know if you get it to work, I'm getting it on Cingular next week and would like to know if these features will work.

Re: Work in Cingular
Jan 13, 2006, 2:38 PM
in the Motorola PEBL U6 forum

It will work because they use the same spectrum. The problem is that it has to be unlocked. My dealer said, actually, that it is easier to get the unlocked version then the one from t-mobile. The reason why Cingular is not offering it is because Moto probably has an exclusive contract with T-Mobile. -Matt PS. If you want it on cingular don't go to the T-Mobile store to buy w/o contract, or Cingular store to hook it up. Go to a ...

Re: 850 vs 900?
Dec 21, 2005, 4:39 PM
in the Motorola PEBL U6 forum

Phonescoops answers that question if you click on the frequency in the "Info" tab. A copy of that response it below: ----------------------------------- ------------ GSM 850 (GSM 800) GSM 850 is simply GSM technology operating in the Cellular (800 MHz / 850 MHz) frequency band. Both the technology and frequency band have been around for a long time, but only in 2002 were they combined. In the U.S. prior to 2002, GSM technology only operated in the PCS (1900 MHz) frequency band. GSM 850 addresses the needs ...

Re: Transferring mp3 files from email to the phone
Nov 17, 2005, 11:45 AM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Verizon does not recognize mp3 attachments even though your phone does. So here's what you do: You rename the file from *.mp3 to *.mid (MIDI format). Then you e-mail it to your phone and it will work like a charm. Remember Verizon has a restriction of about 300KB per e-mail, so make sure your songs are below that. Good Luck.

Re: Picture onto the computer?
Nov 15, 2005, 2:34 PM

You can do it 3 ways: 1) E-mail it to yourself. Each e-mail can contain about 3 photos and it'll cost you 25 cents per e-mail. 2) Buy the data cable and Moto Mobile Phone Tools and you can read up on the forums of how to make it sync in a way that will allow you to access media data on the phone. (I think you pick a v715 instead of v710, something like that). 3) Purchase a TransFlash card, transfer ...

Removable Memory!?!?!?!?
Sep 13, 2005, 1:08 PM
in the Motorola PEBL U6 forum

This phone is really great! It looks hot and has all the functions we've come to depend on. EXCEPT!!! There is no removable memory (TransFlash/miniSD/etc..) That just completely ruins the phone. How are we supposed to use all of the functions with only 5MB of memory??? This is ridiculous!!! Motorola really screwed up!!! I would have loved to get this phone, but 5MB, seriously, what can you fit in there nowadays???

Phonebook porblem!
Aug 5, 2005, 2:16 PM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Hey guys, I just recently got a replacement v710 from verizon (my old one always froze on me). The new one has the latest firmware 8700_01.40.0R. My problem is the changed Phonebook. I use categories to distinguish between different people in my phonebook. In my previous phone the category name would display on top whenever I'm in that specific category (pressing * and # while in Phonebook changes the categories and should appropriately change the name which appears on top). ...
