is it...
Tim?
Sounds like the same old thing
The supplemental pay change is the only meaningful one for those who make minimum wage due to metrics and ABC. I used to think the problem was that ACS is run by a bunch of bully chimpanzees, but I have come to realize that the main offender (at least regarding ACS Portland) is Sprint and that the chimp-poo just rolls downhill from there.
Re: To all Sprint Telesales agents..
Dunno about telesales, but when I did my web order, I got my phone the next day.
Re: Hey Sprint and/or ACs agents
I think they just increased the difficulty of getting an appreciable bonus. I'm not sure, cause I left a month ago.
Re: does any one ever
I used to hate that I'd waste my precious sleep/dream time thinking about work. It sucked. :x Even with my new job I sometimes dream about work. I think it's the brain trying to deal with new information, but it's darn rude of my brain to make me think of work when I'd rather be thinking of anything else. Gotta master the lucid dream!
Re: I don't but...
I sometimes ask friends and family if I have resolved the reason for their call  just as a joke.
My 2nd day on the phones for Sprint I answered the phone with the greeting from my previous call center. Fortunately it was an agent on the phone, not a customer calling.
Re: The Mumbler
So many times I've wanted to ask people to call back after dinner, cause you can hear them eating on the phone and that's just gross!
Re: ACS Threw the eyes of a sales manager pdx site pt 2
That gives me a new perspective on what was going on there at ACS. I always just assumed it was ultimately the GM's fault that people hate working there. That supervisors are demeaned and bullied, and pass that along to the agents. I knew the firing freeze was a dumb idea as soon as I heard about it (though I didn't hear about it until I'd been there over a year). And I can see how agents would take ...
Re: Transfer today with Sprint
It's probably ACS (if those folks are at ACS). I know ACS has done some things to meet Sprint goals that Sprint has come down hard on them for in the past. As in, this is not the way to meet the goal, morons. The ACS center I worked at had some pretty idiotic management.
That's what I meant too
:) PS will remind me
Re: I dispute that award
I'll be stopping by to remind myself why I'm not ever going back.
Goodbye ACS
The worst of call centers, I will not miss you in the slightest.
Re: Rebuttles
I'm thinking you meant to type "like"
darn typos
Re: This has gotten ridiculous!
I just decided to leave all that fun behind, and get me a paper route. I'll make a little less money and work 7 days a week, and be a TON happier.
The changes coming from Sprint, and from the call center itself, were becoming ridiculous. The call center management are trying to keep up too, with limited success and much confusion. Frequent change is the nature of the beast, but I'm opting out.
changing definitions
Always changing something...
The sales practices we have been trained to use are now considered sales fraud. That's Sprint's prerogative, but to claim it won't affect our SV to do things the new way... that's BS. I predict higher handle times and adjustments, as we scramble to keep our SV above goal.
Re: Whats the difference?
You mean the HTC Arrive? Windows mobile 7. M$ rules the phone, bleh.
My favorite customer hobby
The best answer I heard was "sex" They are always so embarrassed to say it. lol
Re: Austin-area Sprint stores doing away with Mail-In Rebates
Awesome. Need to get more people into company stores. (sorry, 3rd party retailers)
Re: Why don't we
Indeed, the minutes cost more than text. Sprint's like 45 cents/min overage and 20 cents/text overage or casual rate. If they whine long enough, they can talk to account services, I guess.
I just tell people the plan they need has x minutes, costs $y/mo and (in this case) happens to include unlimited text.
Re: Why do people think I am trying to rob them when I offer insurance?
Which cell phone insurance doesn't require a deductible?
Re: What do you do...
You lot must be in stores. In my call center us slaves aren't allowed to read at our desks, unless it's cell phone research or studying company procedures. No magazines, books, or cell phones to play with. You occasionally see someone doing those things anyway, but it's just a matter of time before some manager or sup swoops in and takes it. Kinda like school but less fun. We mostly stare into space, obsess over our stats, and chit ...
we'd get sacked
I'm pretty sure sleeping (or looking like you're sleeping) is a fireable offense at my place.
How 'bout Leeeroy Jenkins?
That would crack me up if I got a call from Leroy Jenkins. Ok, maybe only WoW players would get that one...
Amen buddy
I get tired of people complaining they can't afford luxuries like smartphones. Well then get something you can afford. There are many options. My "dumbphone" runs the web & chat & email & text just fine. I don't need more than that.
More consistent
Gotta say, the extra data charge for smarty phones sounds more consistent than just the 4G ones, but telling folks it's not for the 4G... Some think it would be better to phrase the new change as smartphone data plans start at 79.99, which is fine for individual. The add-on is the only way to explain it on a share plan though.
Still, it's gonna drive a lot of unhappy callers my way, which is NO fun at all. That ...
Re: Wait...
Is for real [sigh] Customers today were calling and asking about it, so it's already been announced.
Brilliant idea Sprint! (not)
$10 premium data charge for all new or upgrading smartphones starting 1/3/11. That's gonna be popular and a real call driver. Can you hear the churn? We'll have to see how that goes, I guess.
Give me southerners all day
For the most part, southerners are my favorite people to talk to. They talk a little slow, like I do, and they tend to be respectful and friendly. Not always, and heaven knows I've some some baddies like we all have, but I prefer them to just about anyone in the urban northeast or northern plains states :)
Re: Why I refuse to sell you a PDA/Smarthpone
I like it when they call it a Sims card, cause it makes me want to play Sims instead of dealing with random phone strangers
awesome toaster
That must be the new iToast. It uses 3g (no 4g for you yet) to stay connected to all the other iToast units and gather statistics on how people like their toast. It uses lasers to sense the density of the bread or bagel you put in, and automatically determines the correct time and temperature to use. It's also secretly spying on your other kitchen appliances and sending that information back to Apple, so they can develop the iFridge ...
Re: Worst name?
Yeah that's a name I wouldn't actually say to him. As in "Good morning Mr Raper." I did once talk to a Ms Love though. That was cool :)
Re: Sprints new less than 6 minute perfect IR solution
Awesome summary! I'm looking forward to trying it (not!) I think I understand the intent behind this, but if they really want that caliber of service from us reps, they really need to raise the handle time. But that's not going to happen, sigh.
My experience with Virgin
Is that their web form is the best way to get help. Just be patient, it takes them a day or two. I called customer service a few times when I first ported my number over and they were not very informative about the process. Of course I had messed things up by trying to activate the phone on their web site and suddenly realizing it assigned a native tn rather than asking me if I wanted to port ...
Call Slowing Tool
I love that! So true
Re: Sprint Customer Care please
You know why they're all trying to push that early upgrade right now. So they can get it by Christmas. Most customers tell me the store told them to call and ask for it, with no discussion about whether the current phone is broken. I've had a few requests per day since the 18th. I'm in Advantage and we just write down the info and our sup will request the upgrade date change. It takes about a day and ...
Black Balloons
I saw those and thought "who died?"
Re: I made myself laugh...
Who gets to work at home and take calls? That sounds good.
Re: Crystal Ball needed for new Sprint/ACS metric
There really are those who thrive under the present system of incentives and disincentives, but I suspect they are relatively rare. For everyone else, it's a stamina contest. A struggle between will, self-respect, and economic necessity.
Still waiting to see how this new metric will affect pay.
Re: Troper
Was the outage at the Stumptown call center? Could have been fun... Yesterday we were wishing a tornado would hit the place.
