Jayshmay said: I don't make a lot of $ can't afford to pay a whopping $600+. So it would be an upgrade, on an existing line of service, through Amazon, which is ALWAYS cheaper than greedy slug Vzn. So you can't afford to save $28.00 a month for a phone to buy a full retail? The average price of a smartphone, full retail is $650(ish). Divide that over 24 months and put it in an account that earns interest and you ...

However let's trot out contract law. In order for said contract to be binding, there has to be concessions on both sides - otherwise it qualifies as usury. That being said, yes it says "We may change prices, promotions, etc. at anytime with or without notice" thats fine and dandy UNTIL you read the part about Material Adverse Affect (and I'm speaking for VZW contracts because I'm in them but have sucessfully broken all contracts with the carriers between ...

LOL. Does Hell go with no? You couldn't give me either of those (plus I refuse to have Sprint so they get a double whammy)

Well in the matter of personal opinion you can believe what you want - Kyocera has always been the trash of the market. That being said, Motorola does (on occasion and the Moto Droid is an example) put out quality equipment - That being said that particular phone lasted me nearly 2 years, which is unheard of for me. Its really their software (read: blur) that is crap, not the hardware.

So the Motorola Droid (which didn't have carrier bloatware OR Blur) which debuted 11/06/2009 seems to be AFTER the subpar phones you mentioned. You simply are WRONG - accept it and quit babbling. Thanks.

Considering this will have a $299 price tag for the VZW crapware plus Advanced Blur (or whatever the hell they are calling it) - I now officially pass. I picked up the T-Bolt instead. It may be "old" but its on the market and has 4G. Moto would rather play games with release dates than getting the product to market with the customers. The only phone worth paying the $299 for was the OG Droid because it was vanilla ...

It would seem to me the carriers need to be sued

in the Article: Carriers Continue to Force-Install Junk Apps forum

I think it's time the end user sues the wireless companies for disgusting tactics like this. When you are buying a phone you should not have to buy the craptastic apps (especially if you are buying at full retail) without having the ability to have those apps removed, sans voiding your warranty. Any legal eagles out there want to take this up?

I'm not seeing it's target market..

Where is the target market for this? It seems to be a paypal competitor (which is a good thing), it's just I'm not entirely sure how it's useful. Sending the prepaid card is a nice touch though.

Well lets run down the laundry list shall we? - Disabling the option to allow "side-loading" of applications. All applications must come from the market. Really? There are plenty of places that valid apps come from that are not in the market. - Replacing Google with Yahoo because of "the lack of a calendar widget", which was AT&T's official response which proved to be a lie - Restricting the Atrix from using the higher speed network to keep the iPhone image up ...

in the Article: T-Mobile Responds to Customer Concerns Regarding AT&T forum

This WILL result in less consumer choice, higher prices, lower quality of service, and higher prices. Rural America will be hit the hardest - as if you note in any propaganda that AT&T put's out they are only referencing the top 20 markets. This will also put the fate of Android in some shady hands. T-Mobile has been a balancing force and has proved to be a very viable competitor. Everyone needs to come together and try and stop this. ...

I have. I also am watching the FCC website and soon as they post for public comment, I will be making that news available to my facebook group against this merger, http://www.facebook.com/saveourdroid , and I am pushing for heavy public focus on the FCC themselves, as well as DOJ. This merger destroys choices for rural America where they really only have 3 or 4 carriers right now. This also puts the fate of Android in some precarious hands because ...

No its nitwits like you that want to give everything short of your soul to the Government and other entities in the "name of security". The Airport security and other buildings like that is a JOKE. The only point of a bill like this is to infringe upon the rights of citizens and to further erode them so that the government has the power. Sorry - its the other way around. This type of legislation is absurd and reprehensible. ...

You do realize that the clown with the $18k bill was ILLEGALLY accessing data right? He freely admitted to tethering his devices when his plan did not allow for that type of billing so he consumed obnoxious amounts of data. 5GB is all that is included per month under the feature, and it says this expressly and shows how much you are charged per MB after. Again, onus falls squarely on the subscriber and NOT on Verizon.

Ok - while I applaud the effort and IDEA behind it, we simply are NOT Europe and personal responsibility should matter. If your kid cant handle a cell phone without running up data charges, do the responsible thing and TAKE it from them. More of Big G doing the parenting for them (in this instance). Further this entrenches the entitlement culture in this country to new unprecidented levels. Cell phone companies have a way for the customer to monitor ...
