I'm tired of phone hype. I'll look for them in 2008 when they're really released. With every new phone comes speculation at when it will come out . . . Q1 . . . . Q2. . . . . (of which year?)

Now available on the Cingular website. $199 after rebates. Did see that it was available for free on Amazon after 2 rebates.

I went into a Cingular store yesterday and asked about the phone. The rep showed me a non working demo but couldn't tell me an exact date it would be available. He said to check back in a few weeks. He had actualy won this phone in a contest but hasn't received it yet either. I got to handle the phone though. It seems a little bulky at first but it's not any thicker than most other phones. Cool looking although ...

4th quarter, 1st quarter. whatever! Phone makers promote their products a half a year ahead of time and still can't deliver. I got something else instead that's available "now".

I'm still waiting for their 2003 line of phones to show up in the US. I've been waiting for the T630 or Z600 or Z200 for many months. I finally got the T610 which is outdated, but only because Motorola couldn't deliver on the V600. I'll believe Q2 or whatever when I see it.

I hope this is the case. I've been waiting for the Z600 to be offered my ANY carrier in the US. We are talking about the US right?

Interesting idea. What about a shared plan? My fiance want to come over from Verizon. Could she sign up for a shared plan and I would port my number over to the second phone?

Is it true that all Cingular phones are unlocked?

I read about this in a forum and was wondering if it is true. If so, is it for all phones? Like the SE T600 or the Motorola V400. Does that mean I can use it with ATT or TMobile?

I've been waiting for someone to pick up this phone. I've been wanting that phone for quite a while. I waited because a friend said to check out the v600. A lot of good that did. I working on finding the best price for the SE Z600. I've had the t68i from SE and would still be using it except I submerged it in the mud on an outdoor trip (long story). Would you mind telling where you got it, how ...

Is it true that Cingular phones are unlocked?

I heard this and if so I'd like to get the V400 or SE T616 and use it with T-Mobile or ATT. I don't get Cingular here in AZ. Maybe that will change in the coming year since the merger.

Lousy companies yes, but I wonder how many people in this thread will still bend over for ATT and Motorola and buy a V600, and thank them for it. Why? I really don't get it. If I'm not treated well as a customer, why reward them? Are people in this thread really that desperate to have the newest toy? One that will only be "it" for a short while. Has Motorola's past taught them nothing? I for one have bought ...

I've personally hear a lot of good things about the z600. It's the phone I was originally waiting for. I heard about the v600 but I for one will not wait months for a phone or reward ATT or Motorola at this point. I am waiting for either the SE T630 or Z600 to be offered by T-Mobile. I'm interested in knowing what prices you've seen for the Z600. A friend has the Nokia 3650 (bluetooth, camera and video) but ...

Emailed SE from the main website and they responded with a very vague "We're currently in talks with phone carriers". I guess I shouldn't hold my breath. I don't understand why these things take so long or why they've been out for months in europe and japan but not here.

I agree. Those who will pay that much need to get out more. I'll wait for the V600 or the Z600 from SE. I emailed SE (wrong forum, I know) yesterday and they said they are currently in talks with phone carriers. In Motorola speak, that's "expect it next year". I don't know what that means from SE though. Pretty vague.

Thanks! I checked it out. I'd have to go with T-Mobile for a year but then the phone is only $249 (still a little high for me) It mentions "as low as $164.99" but I didn't see that price mentioned in any of the plans. I'll have to give them a call. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It should work with t-zones right?

That's good to hear. I want a Z600 but I can't justify spending over $300 for one. If they were available in the US they would be offered with plans, intant rebates, etc for much less. I was looking at the British carriers and some even offered it for free with a plan. Here in the US, I guess it just depends on how bad you want one. I don't understand why so many phones are not sold in the ...

Those wanting the Motorola V600 are finding out what computer users using Motorola chips (the G4) have already known: Motorola overhypes and underdelivers their products. It is a running joke among Apple users that they just can't deliver on their promises. Of course, now that Apple went with IBM, who doesn't hype, just delivers, Apple is back on top. Too bad IBM doesn't make phones. Yup, the Apple mini does rock! Taking a good look at the Sony Ericsson Z600. ...

I'm wondering the same thing. What part of the world are you in? I'm in AZ and I don't know any carrier that has either the T630 or the Z600. People are flipping out here for the Motorola V600 (I wouldn't mind one) but I'd spring for the Z600 anyday.

I'm now thinking the same thing. I'm very tired of waiting. Two of my friends have the T616 with T-Mobile and speak highly of it. They can transfer contacts, themes, ringtones to eachother's phones and laptops using Bluetooth. Very cool. I wanted to get either the Motorola V600 or the SE Z600 or T630 but SE has delayed them here in the states. So until either of those three come out, I think I'll get the T616. From what ...

NYC? I seriously had no idea. When I check for unlocked z600's they're hundreds of dollars. I'll look again as that was a little while back. I only noticed that none of the carriers here in Phoenix were carrying them. thanks

I like the z600 myself. I really don't understand what all the hype for the v600 is when the z600 is such a great alternative. If you're using Salling Clicker or Bluetooth it's even better. I hope you got your z600 in the US. I've been waiting for that phone even longer than the v600. So the V80, V180, and V220 come out in summer '04 huh? I'll start looking out for them in early '05.

Would love to experience that except I'm in the US and the phone is not out here yet. Sorry, I'm just anxious to try get that phone. The Euro and Asian markets are far ahead of us here. I don't know why they can't roll out phones at the same time.

I was very interested in this phone. But now I could care less. I would buy the Sony Ericcson z600 but I'm playing the same waiting game with that phone :) My previous experience with SE is that those phones rock. I busted my T68i and decided to go with a Siemens (needed bluetooth and they didn't sell the T68i anymore) and I wish I could have stayed with SE. Especially if you need bluetooth. All other bluetooth users, check ...
