I got the update and it fixed the issue with the camera rebooting! :D
Upgrade your Pantech Duo!
OK, I just updated the OS on my Pantech Duo from Windows Mobile 6.0 to Windows Mobile 6.1 and it introduced some great new features! The "Threaded Text Messaging" made the upgrade 100% worth it! Below is a clip from Pantech's website...
"Among the list of exciting upgrades to the user experience for both business and consumer customers, Pantech duo owners now enjoy a more efficient use of key phone features. Improvements include:

Create your own Ringtones!
Since this phone has bluetooth, you can send ringtones from your computer to your phone without having to pay anything extra. If your computer does not have bluetooth, you can buy a bluetooth dongle (which will give your pc bluetooth capabilities) for pretty cheap (around $8.00). The nice thing about that is you'll then be able to use it with any bluetooth enabled phone you get as well.
As for the file size, the Duo requires the ...
Re: Ringtones?
I just use ActiveSync and then it shows up as a removable drive under your Windows Explorer. From there, it's just a matter of drag and drop!
Want to make your smartphone smarter?
OK, I've had this phone for about a week and I've come to absolutely love it. At first, I really liked it, but after finding a few programs that allow you to FULLY customize it, I now LOVE it!
"SmartToolkit" adds some sweet functions to your device, as well as a beautiful, Windows interface (you can even set it to look like Windows Vista). Basically, this makes it extremely easy for anyone who is used to Windows to navigate ...
Re: Review of 6102i
If you look around on the web enough, you can find free games for your phone. Then, using the Bluetooth adapter and Nokia program, you can install these games on your phone for free also.
Re: reset codes
I used to get this sort of information from www.howardforums.com. You can find a lot of great mod's and codes for just about any phone. I would first check out the Nokia section.
Hope this helps!
Re: Question About the FM Radio
From what I've read... A bluetooth headset is not considered to be one of the compatible headsets. You need to use a wired headset because it utilizes the wire for the antenna. One of the reasons I bought this phone was to get away from the wired headset and use a bluetooth headset. So, needless to say, I don't use the FM radio on my phone.
Re: Getting an MP3 ringtone onto 6103
I have the 6102i and what I did was...
1) Went on Ebay and purchased a Bluetooth USB Adapter like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/BLUETOOTH-USB-Dongle-adap ter-Wireless-Antenna_W0QQitemZ190079491868QQi hZ009QQcategoryZ44999QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
2) From Nokia's website, you can download (for free) their Nokia PC Suite program to transfer contacts, pictures, ringtones, etc... from your computer to your phone and vise versa. (It can be found here: http://www.nokiausa.com/support/pcsuite/main. html )
It's pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it.
Hope this helps!

Re: Speaker Phone Questions
Correct me if I'm wrong... but once you answer the phone or make the call... doesn't the top right button say switch you to the speaker phone?
Re: Auto Answer with Bluetooth Headset
I just tried mine today... First, you have to go into the phone settings and set it up to auto answer. Once you do this, if you have the bluetooth headset on, it will ring for about 2 seconds and then automatically answer. I hope this answers your question.
Re: Nokia 6102i Problems
I ordered it from Cingular.com when I upgraded my plan. The week after I got it, the price dropped to $10 after rebate which Cingular matched.
Re: Record a Ringtone?
Are you trying to make your own ringtone from an MP3 or record your own ringtone from the built-in voice recorder? I've made several of my own ringtones with mp3's (and wallpapers) and then transferred them over to the 6102i phone via Bluetooth. It works great and it's free!

Re: Nokia 6102i Problems
An easier way to adjust the volume is to add the Meeting profile to your "Go To" shortcut menu (bottom left corner of the screen). This way, all you have to do is open the flip and do the following:
Go To >> Meeting >> Select
As for switching to the v557 or RAZR, I just got rid of the v400 (very similar to the v557) and I like the way this Nokia can be a lot more customized (the ...
Re: Delete Default Extras
I'm sure there's a data cable you can purchase on Ebay as well, but I have enough cables connected to my PC and I wanted to try using the Bluetooth.
Having the camera isn't a big deal, especially if you have a way of getting the pics on/off your computer for free!
Re: Delete Default Extras
TBS-885,
I finally received my Bluetooth adapter and tested out the Nokia PC Suite program. To answer your question, you can delete some of the lame games, extra images/clipart and lacluster ringtones, but it won't let you delete certain ones.
So, this would be a good way to free up some space to allow for more of your own pics, ringtones, games, etc...

Re: Clearing the screen
I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a "feature" on the Nokia phone or more of a problem. It seems that no matter what you were doing last on the phone, if you close the phone it will return back to where you were at last. I think it's supposed to do this, because when I close my flip in the middle of a program, the outer display shows, "Running."
One thing you can do before ...
Re: Review of 6102i
Nokia offers a free program to download called "Nokia PC Suite" which can be used to sync files between your PC and phone. I ordered the USB Bluetooth adapter (from Ebay) so I can try it, but I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I'm not sure if this will allow you to remove proloaded ringtones, games, etc... from the phone, but generally speaking these files are usually protected from being deleted.
If you want to ...

Re: Online purchase
I recently puchased mine online. I paid $30 and a couple days later it went down to $10. My wife called 1-800-CINGULAR and they refunded us the complete $30 since it was within the first 30 days. When ordering the phone online it said it would take 3-5 business days for delivery. We ordered it Wednesday night and had it Friday afternoon.
When we were looking at this phone at the store, they said they wouldn't ...
Re: Caller ID
Yes it is... that's one of the nice features with this phone!
Re: PLEASE HELP ASAP=)
Are you able to use Motorola Phone Tools? If so, then I would think you could sync your phone with your computer and then just transfer them to the computer. Then, when you get your new phone, just transfer them back.
Re: is my phone dead or what? any helps, please!
Or you can just do what everybody else does... upgrade it yourself and save time and money.
Re: Increasing the # of rings before VM picks up?
If you do it yourself, you can go beyond 30 seconds. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I have mine set to 60 seconds.
Re: Newbie needs software info.
Excuse me..."dope"... That is not HP's software, it's Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools, the EXACT same thing that is being distributed here and all over the web. I've downloaded it and installed it on my NON-HP computer and had no problem installing or running it.
Re: Newbie needs software info.
Man, it's a shame to see such a huge company like HP providing "stolen copywrited (and therefore illegal)" software on their website for free download!

Re: V400 NO MORE?
Relax buddy... I was just making a statement. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
However, I'm glad your school geography class paid off for you... I would have never known Chicago and Philadelphia weren't the same city! Thanks for the info!
Re: V400 NO MORE?
That's funny, a co-worker just ordered one from Cingular yesterday in the Chicago area.
Re: What is better?
They're both REALLY close to the same thing. Here's a comparison of the two:

Re: phone
All the cameras are "ok" at best. You're buying a cell phone, not a digital camera so you really can't expect too much (at this time at least).
Re: Classic and Attention Alert
I actually haven't tried this.
Hey Brettflan - Have you tried this yet?
Re: phone
What phone is better than the v400 in what ways??? What are you looking for? A lot of people love the v400 (especially after a little modding is done). Some people want blue tooth and went with the v600. I think you need to give some more details here.
Re: Download factory settings
Oh yeah... if it asks you for a Security Code, try entering in 000000 (six zeros).
Re: Download factory settings
You can try doing a Master Reset or a Master Clear. I've never tried it, but here's how to do a Master Reset:
Menu > Settings > Initial Setup > Master Reset
Let us know if this works!
Re: Need MPT update?
Check out the "v400 For Beginners" link here:

Re: Need MPT update?
There are like 5 threads on the main page discussing where you can download MPT and the update. For starters, check out this thread:
https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/ p_forum.php?fm=m&ff=417&fi=131014
But, the update won't give you the Multimedia folders, you should already have them. Do you have a Motorola cable, one of the cheap ones from Ebay or do you have the crappy FutureDial one that they sell at Radio Shack and Best Buy???
Re: V66 drivers
If you're looking for MPT, this has been covered. Check out this link:
