I'll post this in the right place now. I am so tired of Verizon. If my company, friends and wife weren't on the network, I'd be gone. We always wait 6 -8 months longer to get phones that are crippled (Is that why it takes longer?). It is driving me crazy. I see other phones with ATT that I like and am actually considering making a switch. Who cares if it will cost me in my monthly minutes. At least ...

I have KRZR with no problems. I have not used LG's VX8600. There are some differences between the RAZR and KRZR in the menus etc.

Wondering if anyone is using this phone and having any problems with battery life. I don't believe that we have EVDO here. If the phone is always searching for it, that may be a problem for me.

Does Verizon require a data plan in order to get the Treo or other phones of this sort. I don't need the web or data access while on the road. Thanks.

I know a place you can probably get one if still interested. It'll cost $300+ unless you are up for a contract renewal. Let me know.

Re: Outside LCD options

in the Audiovox CDM-9900 forum

I'm using a leather cse to protect the phone and the outside buttons are really hard to press. I end up adjusting the ringer volume. I have inverted the outside display which helps with reading the time/date. Alas, I have accepted the limits. The speaker on th LG4500 blows this one away in terms of volume. The screen on the CDM9900 blows away the LG though.

My mistake on the first entry. The LG4500 does use a backlight, but when it is off the contrast is still high so that the clock shows up. Is there any way to adjust the font size for anything on this phone?

Is it possible to download other clock options etc for the outside display? I know that I can change to image but just want highly visible time and date. Why does this LCD require a backlight unlike the LG4500?

in the Audiovox CDM-9900 forum

While I'm questioning boundaries, is there any way to have two phones on the same line? Using the SID or something like that? Or will the system only allow one? My assumption is that the network recognizes an identifier that is specific to each phone much like a MAC address for a PC network card.

Re: How to remove the VZW banner from 9900!

in the Audiovox CDM-9900 forum

I've seen the instructions for the sequence. What I'm looking for is a way to revert it back to the original banner. Is there a post for that? The inside banner bothers me not. When trying to view the outside LCD for caller ID the alternating Verizon Wireless there with the phone number is annoying. Which do the instructions take care of? The inside banner or the outside banner?

Holding the bottom button on the side will put the phone into and out of Driving Mode. Holding the middle button will put the mode into and out of silent mode.

The tech at Verizon told me that they could order a replacement for warranty or repair from somewhere? This may be the hold back that others have refered to for phone problems.

BAM! After a painful search, I have found CDM9900's! It turns out that many of the techs for Verizon have car audio installation histories (due to their need for installing VSM kits). One of these guys refer me to the local car audio dealers. Some of the local car audio places are also dealers for Verizon. They must not move alot of phones. Dealers apparently are required to keep or purchase an inventory ...

I agree with all that HONEY37 said. I think that the LG is a great phone. The voice dial is over the top and the speaker is convenient. I happen to be selling a new LG 4500 if interested. You can see my other posts. I am simply ready to move on. I have not had a good opinion of Moto menus and ease of use.

My itch has been scratched because I got my wife a new phone. She is using the Nokia 6015i because she prefers candy bar phones. I set the phone up and actually dig the phone. I am actually considering getting it until I move into a PDA-phone or phone with a TFT screen. I like the fact that I don't have to open it. I wanted a flip because they were so cool, and ...

I measure the standard battery at ~7-8mm while the extended battery is ~1.2mm. I actually like the feel of the phone better with the extended battery. It feels more solid. I have used both batteries and have not perceived any differences in the vibration for the two batteries. Before this phone I had a Nokia 6360 and did notice the difference between the two phones with respect to vibration. You may notice that as you ...

As chris78 says you do have alot more features. You can now select whether you want to dial home, mobile, office etc. using voice command. Very sweet indeed, but the process for selecting it is a tiny bit longer than I would prefer.
