Re: T-Mobile’s Valentine’s “Cupid’s Arrow Hits Mark” Day Sale was a Rip-Off

If it works for you then that's great. The ad wasn't linked to the main website, that I could see. I did find it - after the fact, by googling the specific phrase. I even re-posted the link. As far as the upgrade, I am not %100 certain on this, but you MAY have had to sign up for an additional two years as per website: "New and existing eligible customers can take advantage of this deal receiving their device for free ...

T-Mobile’s Valentine’s “Cupid’s Arrow Hits Mark” Day Sale was a Rip-Off

Wanted a Samsung Galaxy S 2 (T989). It was free after mail in rebate. I didn't find out the particulars of the fine print until after I went in the store regardless of having searched for information on their main webpage. While there I was told that I had to buy at least an unlimited 5GB plan. Afterwards, I found the following online ad - http://www.tmonews.com/2012/02/t-mobiles-vale ntines-cupids-arrow-hits-mark-day-sale-is-tod ay-only/. So let us do the math in contrasting the total two year cost between ...

Samsung Galaxy Indulge - Almost there.
Feb 16, 2011, 10:35 PM
in the Metro forum

Introduced on the 9th, it appears that the Galaxy Indulge is a scaled-down cousin of T-Mobile's Galaxy S 4G. Most would consider it the first real 4G smart phone for MetroPCS. I'll be waiting for phone with more battery life, AMOLED, hotspot feature, and Andriod 2.3. I read up on this nightmode feature for the camera. But nightmode does not appear to be the same as flash. Anyway, almost there as far as features. By the way, most of ...

Re: MetroPCS, Service Plans, FCC, and 4G Video

As mentioned in the LA times article and posted at the Metropcs.com/plans you will notice that the 4G web "check mark" is only on the $60 plan. Metro has unlimited streaming on Youtube on all plans. However, on the $40 and $50 plans Youtube streams at 2G or between 28kb/s and 128 kb/s best-case-scenario. The article mentions a block rather than a data cap pertaining to non-Youtube streaming sites at least with the $40 plan. With the $40 plan, a ...

MetroPCS, Service Plans, FCC, and 4G Video

Ran across another article about Metro vs. FCC - http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/editorial s/la-ed-metropcs-20110201,0,6422631.story The news article being from the LATimes, I am unsure of its robust accuracy. Notwithstanding it brought to my attention some details which I had not read in previous articles on Metro's and Verizon's case with FCC. I assumed that the new 4G service was basically unlimited 4G web. But if you look at http://www.metropcs.com/plans/ then it appears that only the $60 plan has unlimited 4G web. Yet with locked 4G ...

Once again... Is the phone listed at http://helpdesk.houdinisoft.com/approved_hand sets.pdf ? If so find an authorized dealer or store that uses Houdinisoft to provision. If not, then you will have to wait for Houdinisoft to add the phone to the provision list.

Re: Metro PCS Question

Lostinohio, it appears that MetroPCS uses the Sprint network for the "extended home area" (see my recent post). However, the original network is still in place, in addition to the Sprint Network. The change was made in earlier Nov (Nov 3). MetroPCS went public with the change yesterday.

New National Coverage for MetroPCS

Who's network does MetroPCS piggy-back on? The map of "MetroPCS Extended Home Area" looks more similar to Sprints. I compared http://www.metropcs.com/coverage/ with http://coverage.sprintpcs.com/ and http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/pcc.aspx

I don't see the Driod on HoudiniSoft's approved list http://helpdesk.houdinisoft.com/approved_hand sets.pdf ..but then again its over two months old. I am unsure if local store would be able to help.

MetroPCS announces new Samsung SCH & LTE network @ CTIA 2010
Mar 24, 2010, 5:25 PM
in the Metro forum

MetroPCS has announced a new Samsung SCH-r900 at CTIA 2010. It is due the 2nd half of 2010. Corresponding to the introducing of the new Samsung is the launch of a MetroPCS LTE network in LA. No details on the SCH-r900 have emerged but some have suggested that it is perhaps similar to the Finesse SCH-r810. The phone is LTE enabled and CDMA. Its speculated that it will switch as needed between the LTE OFDMA and CDMA networks depending ...

This is not the T-Mobile forum. However after looking more closely at the Even More Plus Plans, I see it is less unreasonable in rates than AT&T plans. My decision continues to lean heavily toward Metro PCS.

I have sought answers from this forum and found little save in arias415's reply. My January 26th post appears to have slipped into a black hole when I see subsequent post not attempting to answering my questions but instead begging the question of having MetroPCS as a carrier to begin with. I have received answers from MetroPCS and would like to share these with the forum as seen below: I have a few questions regarding two MetroPCS Smart Phones. I ...

This response was really not quite what I was looking for in a reply. If I was not cost conscience then I would not have posted. If I was cheap then I would not be looking for a Smart Phone. My goal is with research to get a decent Smart Phone at a reasonably above average price. Yes, with research I expect to get an above average deal, though I am not looking for a miracle. I am ...

SmartPhone Capabilities for MetroPCS?
Jan 23, 2010, 5:13 PM
in the Metro forum

I have a few questions regarding two MetroPCS Smart Phones. I have asked customer service reps in the store and a technical support rep by telephone. However, they appear only moderately knowledgeable because they have not actually used the Smart Phones. I have read posts on other forums on the internet and been able to find limited information. The information I have found really does not answer my questions. The two models that work on MetroPCS for which I ...
