Verizon vs. AT&T
My contract has expired with Verizon and I'm looking at new phones. I'd prefer to stay with Verizon for it's coverage and customer service, but there are two things that make me want to switch to AT&T.
Java:
I understand that you can download java applications, such as Google Maps for free on AT&T phones (not just the iPhone and Blackberries, but all handsets that support Java). Does anyone know if Verizon has plans to drop the overpriced and limited availability ...
Verizon Blocking Ringtones?
I just got a replacement Motorola KRZR K1m handset after my old one broke. I had created a ringtone for my old handset that was silent for the first few seconds so my phone would vibrate before ringing the way my old V276 would. I sent this ringtone as an mp3 to mynumber@vzwpix.com and it showed right up as a ringtone on my phone.
With my new handset this won't work. I had to convert it to an .mid, .amr ...
Lotus Notes Sync
Has anyone tried sync'ing this phone with Lotus Notes? I'm looking for a phone (other than a Blackberry or Palm) that can sync calendar and contacts. I have Verizon service and am running Lotus Notes v7.0.2. Thanks.
OEM Faceplate
Does anyone know where I can get an OEM faceplate for the V265/V276? My V276 came with the shiny silver to black fade Verizon faceplate that's gotten very scratched. I'd like to replace it with the matte black one shown in the pictures on this website.
Re: V276 USB cable...
I'm using the same USB cable (and charging stand) from my v60 with my v276 so I'd imagine that the v265 cable would also work. I think most of the V series moto's use the same cable.
Sync with Lotus Notes?
Has anyone tried sync'ing this phone with Lotus Notes? I'm thinking about buying this phone and would like to keep it sync'd with my contacts and calendar. I was able to do this with Outlook and my v60i. I still have the data cable and mobile phone tools software from my v60i. Will these still work with the v276 and Lotus Notes?
Reception of Motorola v60i vs. New Phones
I'm still using my old v60i, which I'm happy with, but the battery is shot so I'm debating whether to upgrade or replace the battery. I don't care about new features like a camera or color screen, but I was recently in a large hotel and noticed that a friend with an LG VX-7000 on Verizon had a perfect digital signal, while I had none. As far as I know, both these phones use the same CDMA technology. Is ...
Stub (Non-Extendable) Antenna
Has anyone tried replacing the standard extendable antenna on this phone with a fixed stub antenna? It seems like this would fix the broken antenna problems so many people complain about with this phone. I understand that the stub antenna from the TDMA and GSM models won't work on this phone, but I've seen aftermarket kits for converting to a stub antenna. I was wondering if anyone had tried this and if so, how their reception ...
Reception of New and Old Phones

PC Sync
I'm considering buying this phone from Verizon. Phone Scoop doesn't show that it has the ability to do a PC Sync, but LG says that it does. Has anyone had any success sync'ing this phone with MS Outlook? How well does it work? Am I better off spending the extra money for a Motorola T730?
