not an auto lock. but if you hit menu (the dash below the screen) then * you will manually lock the pad.
i don't believe there is an auto lock. stupid, but as others have said. i haven't accidently dialed anyone yet either.

when my phone is done charging the inside and outside screen both say "completed charging" or something like that.
most chargers start out filling up fast and when the battery is near full they slow down. they will also slow down if the battery is overheating.
try leaving it in overnight and see what it says in the morning. also try draining it dead (that the phone shuts off) and then charging it 24 hours. it's possible that the software charge ...

well. disagree all you want. but lion batteries don't develop a chemical "memory" effect.

the phone uses a lithium ion battery. there is no "memory" effect with these batteries. so there's no reason to let it drain all the way down nor a "best" way to charge it.
feel free to charge it whenever it's handy. i generally plug mine in overnight when i'm at home. if i'm out one night or two i don't worry. if i'm going to be gone more than that i take my charger with me.

it works just fine between my t3 and my v600. bluetooth is always on (when it's enabled). don't know who said it wasn't. any time i try and check email with my t3 it works just fine (and is far better than the client in the phone).
dust on the blue screen?
i've had my phone 3 weeks now and started noticing dust on the outside screen (the blue one that normally shows the clock). it's under the plastic cover and on top of the lcd. a bit of it in there too. not exactly sure where it got in. :(
anyone else notice the same thing?

even better, put in a w (for wait).
when you edit a phone number press the menu key (above the 4-way) and insert a pause, wait or link to another number.
the wait is pretty handy. the phone will dial. then wait, when you are ready for it to dial the rest you hit the upper-right softkey (it will say OK) and it will dial the rest. never saw this on another phone and wish i had.

have you recorded a voice tag for the number yet? you have to record the tag (twice). then to dial you hit the voice button, speak the tag, and there you go. works just fine for me thru the phone or my bluetooth headset (jabra 200).

it's a misprint as the phone doesn't have the edge software in it. unless there's some sort of upgrade coming down the line.

AT&T, Verizion, Cingular, Nextel.
They ALL suck. Every one of them has places where reception stinks. Every one of them isn't offered in some area across the country or the other. They all have some clueless customer support individuals answering the phones and they all will try and get as much money out of you as possible.
Pick a provider you dislike the least, stick with them and be happy!

correct.
the v600 can PLAY video clips you download in the the phone.
the v600 CAN take pictures and view them on the screen, mms them out, email them out, bluetooth them out.
the v600 CAN NOT take video clips. it can send video clips out by bluetooth to other devices though (copy/move)
lame. maybe just a software upgrade away you'd think.

Even better. I can push photos to & from my phone to my Palm. Unfortunately if they aren't screen size for the phone it simply displays "Too Large" and that's that. :-( It's too bad it can't scale it down to fit the screen.
Video clips transfer too. :)
Unfortunately I don't seem to find a way to transfer audio clips. It's too bad. I can record and edit easier on my Palm and then could send it over.

I just wanted to happily say that my Palm T3 works just fine with my V600 and connecting via AT&T GPRS service.
On your V600 select Settings, Connections, Bluetooth, Setup, Find Me (to put it in discoverable mode).
In the Phone Link application (on your Palm) select Motorola then TP280i. It will find your phone, let them handshake, connect, put the same PIN in on both and they will happily bind.
Select AT&T Wireless GPRS as your Network Service on your ...

well. you can always ebay the parts you don't need like the headset. definately the "package" is a better deal from plemix than just the phone itself.
as for the data cable, no, there doesn't appear to be any mac supported software and it doesn't work under virtual pc as many have pointed out. but you have no access at all to a pc? friend? relative? work? if all you want to do is a quick flash all you need ...

actually. i wasn't flaming him. i was pointing out the valid reasons for getting a phone not from AT&T. i had no idea he was an ATTWS employee, but i don't know if that's a blessing or a curse.

back faceplate problem
[probably only the other people who've gotten their phone from plemix will know what i'm talking about..]
do any of you notice a problem with the colored back plates? the silver one the phone came with fits just fine. when i try to put the blue one on it doesn't fit right on the left (looking at the back) side. the problem is the hole where that black thing pokes through isn't large enough. it's larger on the silver plate.

acutally. if you have the mobile phone tools installed i don't think you need the PST drivers. when it asked for them they were older versions than what MPT installed. i overwrote them anyway and had nothing but trouble, neither application would work. i re-installed MTP and everything was happy with those drivers.
sending mms via att?
ok.. i'm having problems sending mms messages.
i set up both mms and mmode via the config page. under web sessions i have both AWS MMS and mMode GPRS, both are locked.
with either one picked, i can't seem to send a mmode message. the web site says to have AWS MMS selected.
under Message Setup I have:
service centre no: +19078319301
email gateway: 000000
use gprs: no
what am i missing?

sorry to hear about your problems. :( try reflashing it? where did you get your 1DR from? i got mine from cjb.net. i flashed with just the triplets file and didn't add in the extra flex file.
removing email providers?
someone had told me the trick of using PST to remove the web session providers. does anyone know what to remove to clear out the list of email providers (messages->email setup). it's full of providers i won't use and i wanted to clean up the list. i can't delete them though and i can't seem to find them in PST.
anyone know?

why not..? i flashed to 1DR and am actually happier with it. it ditched the asian languages (and replaced them with european ones). there are some extra menu items that weren't around before, mostly ones on phone status and versions.
i haven't noticed a single problem with the DR version and i've been using the phone all weekend. with and without a bluetooth headset (jabra 200). i haven't had any white screens of death or lockups.
not saying you should flash ...

well i've had my phone from plemix a few days now and while i'm happy at&t will finally get it in a few weeks i think i got the better deal. look at it this way:
$575USD for unbranded unlocked phone (package cost)
Sell 801 headset (i have my jabra 200 still) on ebay, estimate $100 (i've seen 'em sell for far more).
Sell Samsung x426 on ebay, estimate $75 (again i've seen them sell for more).
Include the software, cable, extra faceplate ...
