All this argument proves to show is how Sprint is devaluing the business and why they are losing customers, money, and will eventually go out of business. When your CEO has to go on TV to assure customers that you're "revolutionizing" the industry by giving away the farm at such a cheap price, then you have to know you are in trouble. This last response is why I stopped posting on the internet. Although you just went through to state all of these facts about the technology and having Ashdizzle justify why arguing over network superiority is ridiculous, since both technologies obviously don't work for everyone, you go back and say, "Well, who would win in a boxing match?" Loser...

Blackjack 2 Question

I am having trouble with my Blackjack deleting my emails a few seconds after I read them. I've looked through the settings and have not found an auto delete option. There is an option to warn me when I delete a message but not for the ones that are auto deleting. The device tutorials are usually helpful but they do not mention anything about an auto delete option. Please help! Thanks in advance!

After reading several posts....I doubt Wal-Mart loses more money based on the cost they receive for the same phone a dealer would pay for. There is no doubt in my mind that Wal-Mart approaches AT&T they way they would anybody wanting to sell a product in their stores and that's by negotiating to the lowest price possible. No one here can tell me, other than a Wal-Mart executive who has actually seen a pricesheet, that they pay the same for ...

Here's my problem. I have a Blackjack with my contacts and calendar synced from my computer. My computer crashed and now my new Windows Vista computer will not allow me to sync my calendar and contacts to the computer. What do I do? Also, I need a new phone anyway and would like a Treo 750. Can I sync my data from the Blackjack to a 750? Thanks in advance, Tim

You get billed data for logging on to your im. Once you are logged on, you just get charged per im. You are not getting double billed :roll:

This question doesn't make sense. Would you buy the elite line when you can get the exact same for less? C'mon pal. I see what the other poster was saying in that this argument is too much for any user. If Palm wanted to let you know that this was going to have updated software, OS, or a toothbrush attachment, they would have announced it.

So if they are not eligible in our system, then what can we do? I understand this because I am in the same situation. I have tried to upgrade these customers only to have to send them to a COR store. But for this agent to not refund the money for this customer to just go to the COR store and complete the upgrade there, is really hogwash. I meant the agent should refund it and I would hope AT&T would give credit if the agent doesn't honor the refund.

That's how I feel so I answer the phone no matter how early or late it is. Most of the time it's CS issue but I've gotten lucky a couple of times.

The receipt says it, so it should be honored. I don't put anything past anybody these days so this kind of thing really doesn't surprise me. Personally, I would have refunded it immediately without issue and started to complete the upgrade. What was the reps problem? Definitely not the way to stay in business.

We sell a lot of Moto H550/670s and they have worked really well for us so far. I was skeptical at first since almost every Moto BT headset I have used or sold was junk. Very surprised that the newer ones actually WORK. They start at $59.99 at my store. I also have Southwing BT stereo headsets for $99.99. We sell the Moto s9 too! Pretty tight device!

Yes, AT&T does if a customer pays more than $69.99 a month for their price plan. These customers usually have the upgrade fee waived, too. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong b/c $69.99 sounds wrong. I think it might be $79.99.)

We can't brag about it because everyone else's network has improved call quality as well. Think everyone got kinda scared when Cingular started using this campaign and started making their own improvements. I think this is good for the industry as a whole. I really never hear about anyone dropping anymore. (Except on this site, but not in my store. I am in West Texas.)

Ok, I just finished an upgrade. A customer bought a V3 pink. At the beginning of the process it asks you if you are upgrading to another GSM phone or UMTS, right? Well, this is a V3 pink, not a V3xx. It would not let me continue with the upgrade until I selected UMTS as the technology. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance. Tim

I think the costs come in having RAEs and other dealer agent corporate assistance (credit and activations reps for instance). AT&T is paying those people to help agents. And yes, I miss co-op money too. I have a question though, do corp stores ever call customer service, credit and activations, or AR?

It helps a lot. I figured roaming rates were higher than that. I was thinking more like 5 years ago when more consumers paid roaming charges and were paying like $1.29 a minute. So current roaming agreements are $0.09 a minute? Then you're right if AT&T decided to purchase, not a good move. Keep the roaming agreement. (Hope I read that correctly.)

...the FM transmitter and wish more phones had it. A friend of mine had his Fusic on a recent trip to Ruidoso, I'm with AT&T and was using a Treo 650, and we wanted to hear some tunes on his phone and some on my memory card, so we used it in the car and with a small CD player we had in our cabin. Definitely came through in the clutch.

1. Cingular. The problem comes into play is that there is a roaming deal in effect so why would they want to spend $3.85 b for DCEL. How much does AT&T pay Dobson NOW per minute in roaming charges? If over the next 5 to 10 years Dobson would make than $3.85 b, AT&T would be making a hell of a deal now than to keep sending checks to Dobson over so many years.

I guess it depends on the agent. I know of larger agents who are more willing to pay their reps a higher commission to entice them to gain more sales and be better sales reps. Rewarding them with salary or management positions. Then I know small agents (like who I work for) who do the same thing. Commission structure is based on revenue and dollar amounts. Higher tier activations and features drive our sales.

I see it as paying extra commission to someone for selling the same service. I may be mistaken, but corp does not much in commission to thier reps than they did just 2 or 3 years ago. I knew a rep who said they were getting considerably less in commission for the same amount in activations than the previous year, and this was about a year ago.

I want to chime in here because I've been using my BB Pearl for about a month now and it hasn't dissapointed me. I also use the $29.99 BB plan with unltd msg at $19.99.

I agree. I have been using the pearl for a couple of weeks now and have been impressed. It's a little complicated to use, but no more than the Treo 650 I was using before. I use the media player, take some pics, have three email accounts set up, and use the internet a couple times a day. Battery life has been my only complaint actually but it's not bad enough to say it sucks.

But if you're eligible for an upgrade, you can't renew and purchase the iphone as an existing customer, only new? We kept it and I'm pretty good at selling it. I've had a couple customers question it, too. I even tell my customers that it's pretty deceptive and several still went for it. I guess it's a deceptive approach but not necessarily a bad deal...for some.
