Re: How is this shocking news?
I don't understand how this is news to people now...when you sign a contract, you get a discount...if you want a different phone, you can't just sign another contract
FYI for all you followers out there  http://www.ozcarguide.com/technology/cellph one-pda/3020-htc-evo-4g-price-release

Old ATT Plans
Does anyone know if there is a way to keep an old ATT plan (from before the Cingular merger)? I was dealing with a customer earlier that had an old ATT America plan with free nights @ 7, 900 anytime, free M2M and Free Weekends for $45 for the primary and $20 for the secondary ($65 MRC). Well none of the current ATT offerings come even close, but in order for them to upgrade their handsets, they ...

Helio going under?
Is Helio still going strong? Or are they going to go the way of Amp'd? Last I heard the initial $1/2 billion investment will be used up at the end of the year, earthlink pledged another $100 million but only gave something like $30 million, and they laid off 80% of their sales force...I dont know but it doesn't look good...anyone have any information?
Working for Helio?
Does anyone have any experience working for Helio? I'm looking at a position as an account representative and was wondering if anyone out here could fill me in on it other than whats on the website. Thanks

Business sales w/ verizon
Hello everybody...just a few questions. I'm in the interview process with an agent for Verizon doing business sales called Wireless Zone. I was wondering if any of you could give me some feedback on this company and Verizon (I come from a T-Mobile background, and currently work at a retail that sells tmo cing and spint/nextel). It is a franchise owned by a few guys, so I wouldn't be working for Verizon directly. It's also 100% commission.Has anyone ...
Re: T-Mobile and Coverage
i've used it and its about as accurate as the brocure...the only thing i do like about it is that it gives you the status of the towers so you can see if a tower is down in your area...thats pretty cool
Re: T-Mobile and Coverage
You can see where the towers are on t-mobile's...always have..this cingular map kind of sucks and isnt very interactive.... oh god i hate cell phones
Rasin Bran can save you $75
I guess Kellogs and Sprint got together and made an addition $75 mail-in-rebate off phones (with and MSRP of 299.99 or higher) for new and exsisting customers... so if you're ready to sign up with sprint, go get some frosted flakes...hope this helps someone
Re: CAUTION: RUN... DON'T WALK ...AWAY FROM T-MOBILE
Sorry I'm just reading through this and I want to say that this situation sucks. I dont work for t-mobile (used to back in the day) but in their defense, of all the other companies out there their customer care is usually on point....anyways, I really wanted to comment on the "we're not connected to CC" that the instore rep told you. I get this a lot. I work for an authorized dealer and just because ...
Re: 3g service!
my sources say....tuesday afternoon...around 2:36pm then they're going to 6 month contracts and unlimited calling plans for about $30/month...waiving activation fees (because those are silly)...and free upgrades with no extentions... its true...google it
Re: Promotional Plans
The new plan is going to be something like that altell plan where you can choose 5 phone numbers and they are unlimited free calls...pretty cool :) ...at least thats what my sources tell me. The kid plan is cool... 50 anytime minutes, unlimited M2M and unlimited Weekends for 19.99 with the ability to add minutes using the t-mobile ToGo refill cards. Can be applied to any phone.
Every customer that comes in with that bs story about how they "know for a fact" that they didnt get it wet and demand a new phone needs to take a lesson from this guy...just rip off the manufacturer...I'm all for it, screw those guys. With their stupid stickers that says if the phone got wet...and to think they dont even cover water damage with the warrenty...they should know these things are attracted to water. h**l, if ...
Re: 3G in the US with Tmobile?
as far as i know its just a matter of them purchasing the spectrum then flipping a switch from "off" to "on"...but who knows..that is of course, not including the distribution of new 3g handsets...2008 is probably a good estimate
Re: X-Men 3 Advertising
Telephia drives around certain metro areas, rates wireless carriers (not against eachother, but rather analyizes the networks reliability) then sells their findings back to the carriers so they can see where they might be having problems. Here's an article from the boston globe... http://www.boston.com/business/ar ticles/2006/04/23/the_fewest_dropped_calls/ ..but I guess if a comic book character told me that cingular has the "fewest dropped calls", its almost as credible and the advertising campaign they have right now....almost :D
Re: Survey: Blue or Orange?
ha straight from the employee handbook
CINGULAR REPS, know what really grinds my gears...
Cingular now has the "fewest dropped calls" according to an independent company called Telephia. Two things bother me about this... 1) Telephia is a company that drives around with specialized equipment that basically makes hundreds of calls and evaluates the strenghts and weakness of wireless networkss throughout the main metro areas. This is then sold back to the carriers where they can say "ok we're having some troubled spots here...and here", then they fix them. I guess ...
question for you sprint/nextel reps...
I have a customer who activated a line on the sprint CDMA network last week...well, it turns out they dont have good coverage at their house, BUT they know the Nextel phones work out there. Whats the policy for the 14 day trial period when it deals with switching from CDMA to iDEN? ie, will they have to start a new account, or can it be converted easily? Thanks :)
Re: Thank You Sprint.
Its just one more example of the government intruding into private lives. In all honesty, if they were to evesdrop on me, they would know that I'm either on my way to work, heading to the bar or ordering a pizza...but still, thats my private life...big brother's watching (well listening), read 1984 and you'll understand
ha just seeing how long it would take to get a response...36 min
Cingular's network has the least number of dropped calls because Cingular said so...does anyone know who this "independent, third-party tester"?! Screw cingular, I'm signing up for Voce...at least I know their coverage is good because they said so too http://cingular.mediaroom.com/index.ph p?s=press_releases&item=1442 If anyone can find where the independent person is who did this test, let me know...is it Telaphia??

Re: Rate all the big providers...
1. SprintPCS (CDMA) 2. T-Mobile 3. Verizon 4. Cingular 5. Sprint (iDEN) 6. Alltel 7. Metro PCS I lived in Tampa for most of my life, but for the past 5 years i've been in orlando. Now I've ranked these based on my experiences...Sprint and T-Mobile are probably tied...they both work great here (in orlando). When I lived in Tampa I had T-Mobile (voicestream) and Cingular. Cingular blows...They have the whole "we're the best because we ...
Re: Verizon vs. Sprint vs. T-Mobile
Sprints pretty good...i dont know your exact usage, but the 59.99 1000 minute plan might work. Its on the fair and flexable which is different than traditional overage charges...$5 for 50 extra minutes. Its tiered and adjusts to your usuage. Also, all the plans have nights starting at 7pm and include roaming on or off network nationwide. As for texting and web browsing...if you get a power vision phone like the samsung a900 or a920 ...
Re: tmobile night min
Its still offered 8)
Re: 1st QT 2006 is almost up, what are your expectations for Sprint/nextel?
2.2 net subscribers 1.5 million % churn ps...the best part about working for Tmo was getting the company-wide voicemails at 8am from Catherine Zeta-Jones :D
Re: 1st QT 2006 is almost up, what are your expectations for Tmobile USA?
You mean the Ginger? She has gingervitis...www.gingerkids.org
Re: adios, amigos
Good Luck slick...T-mo's a good company :D
Re: SPRINT RULES I LOVE SPRINT yea BUDDY
I had T-Mobile for about 5 years and they won all sorts of awards and actually had great service...then I bought my a920 and it is one of the best phones I have ever had...I'm right there with ya ArmySF! I don't care how many awards Sprint hasn't won, i love 'em because of this phone :D
Re: ill make sure i turn out the lights before i go....
I used to work for them in Orlando...they treat their employees very well...what store are you looking at? good luck :D
Re: well said
Free phones don't have a $500 retail value...but I like the down under method...or did you say austria? i dont remember...good talk :)
Re: T-Mobile Absolute Worst Company I've ever dealt with
Does MIT offer a cell phone purchasing degree? :D anyways, I honestly think its just a matter of time until you get screwed by a wireless company..."you" being any and every consumer...its just the company that does the less screwing will be better off. I've been screwed by cingular and sprint, but never by t-mobile. Thats not to say that you weren't, and you, by all means, have a right to be upset, but overall, IMHO ...
Not as good as the hotdog stands downtown at 230am! 407 what?!! :)
Re: Sorry Cingular T-Mobile Dominates according to JD Power
Maybe this is why T-Mo has one of the highest churn rates in the industry note: Take into cosideration that the have HALF the amount the user we have. Hmmmm T-Mobile's Churnrate includes their prepaid service, whereas no one else does...they operate them as separate companies
Re: Sorry Cingular T-Mobile Dominates according to JD Power
I think it's interesting that everyone boasts about numbers...total subscribers and whatnot. T-Mobile did almost their numbers in the past 3-5 years...where as Sprint/Nextel and Cingular doubled their numbers by buying other companies....neat
