Re: What can make verizon better
*I compare Cingular to Verizon here. They have the same signl strength and coverage where I live*
1. Drop BREW, offer Java apps and the ability to upload our own. I don't purchase your BREW apps, and it is a deciding factor between me and switching to Cingular. At least with them I have a choice.
2. Reenable Bluetooth. I get pissed everytime I see a cool phone and want to buy it, then have to do research to see if ...
Specific BT profiles support
I know it's a dead topic, but is the hadsfree profile the only one VZW is supporting? And to you sprint people waiting for this phone: what BT profiles does sprint usually support?
I only ask because someone might be able to flash sprint's firmware onto a VZW phone and enable all of the blocked features (liek someone at HoFo tried to do for the E815 and the Bell firmware).
Re: could smeone tell me when the second have is ?
If they mean calendar then it's July - December. If it's fiscal....uh I forgot what the fiscal year is, but it's similar to calander.
Re: So can you hack the bluetooth on this to enable file transfer like the E815??

Just wondering. I bought the phone today as an experiment. Basically, I'm with Cingular and have mediocre reception "in my apartment", so I bought a Nokia 6230 off ebay and my reception has improved signifcantly. However, sometimes it still cuts in and out, so I decided to give Verizon a try.
Overall its pretty nice. Doesn't seem buggy like some of the reviews say, but i've only had it a day. One thing the salesman told me ...
Re: i know.
The MP3 player doesn't work (that is to say, the forward, play, and back buttons have no use). The new Music on Demand (or MOD) will come out soon and replace the MP3 player.
The phone does have 512MB of memory alone. This memory is segmented to handle other features though (cache, pix message space, picture space, tones space, Get It Now space, etc.), so you don't have exactly 512MB of memory to play with. The phone does have ...
Re: Question regarding Bluetooth and static..
Also, on the A210 adaptor, there is a slider switch located near the power cord input. You can adjust singal strength there to improve sound quality.
Re: Is there any way to unlock the bluetooth capabilities?
No. At least you will be able to use a headset.
Re: REALLY CONFUSED GUYS, I NEED ALOTA HELP!!!
That was one of the most unreadable messages I've ever read. Bluetooth will never be "fixed" on Verizon phones, because BT interferes with their deal with BREW, and therefore it is crippled to prevent transfer of games. Both phones have the same size screen (according to phonescoop), have 1 megapixel cameras, and will have EV-DO.
Personally, I'm still undecided. I'll wait until both phones are out and I will judge them myself. But, by first impressions, I'm going with ...
Re: Verizon or Sprint
Sucks to have sprint I guess.
Re: are the speakers loud?
We don't know.
Re: is 8100 ocming out sometime in june

wanna bet that it's later than June? How much?
How much? Probably about $100 more than what the 8000 is going for now. Anf I still bet on 2nd Qtr. 2005. The main delays for the 8000 and other V-CAST phones was the need for Ev-Do in high competitive market areas.

what the f**K :o :o :o
why will it take so long to release it. that is like terrible foreplay !!!
Many things. Making sure it's compatible withthe network, making sure the miniSD card and the BT are crippled, figuring out whether to charge you for the phone charger, finding a good price between "an arm and a leg" and "eat beans for a month".
The points I made above were jokes, but I would say marketing; ...
Re: Im gonna look like an idiot but..... what's bluetooth?
Yeah, just stay in range. Also, bluetooth may experience interference from other wireless products, such as wireless interent and such.
Re: KUDO'S TO LG!!
No flashlight? Are you serious?!
I would assume you are joking. After I get this phone, I would see no reason to get a new one unless this one broke to a million pieces. It has everything I would ever want: BT, MP3, camera, storage space. This combined with one of thsoe new PSP's, and I'm digital set.
Re: I cant wait for this puppy
I hear ya. My 6000 is about dead, and I'm going to get a jabra bluetooth headset to use with the 8100. If it's solid, I won't see a reason to upgrade unless it gets destroyed. It has everything I would ever want on a phone.
Re: Why so much built in memory!
Not even counting that the 512 will be sectioned off for games, applications, pictures, video, system resources, and of course, MP3's. 512 will go poof quickly. Glad they included the miniSD slot.
Memory space
I was confused about the spec about space. Is it 512MB integrated on the phone, or is it 512 with a miniSD card?
Re: When
It says "2nd Quarter 2005", but I would agree with the assumption that 8000 sales have to be milked first. I would say sometime around May or June, to capitalize on the summer and to advertize that this new phone is a high ender that can be your summer companion.
Re: Big Deal
Yeah, but think about it. IF you could transfer all of your ringtones, pics, and videos with bluetooth/ expansion cards, then that is a huge profit loss on verizon's part. I see what they are doing, and why they are doing it.
I think if thes features aren't fully integrated, they shouldn't advertise them, because it leads to people buying something thinking they have this all in one gadget, only to realize that they have only half of what ...
