Yep, don't compete to give your customers at least competitive rates and features, as was already mentioned, but instead increase fees. That sounds wonderful.

So here's the thing. VZW's actually not even trying to compete here. First, their biggest competitor, AT&T is offering up to $25/month off, vs. VZW's $20/month off. Then, unlike EVERY other carrier, the discounts on the monthly access fees don't apply to customers who bring in their own device or pay full price for their phone upfront, So even if I pay full retail, and don't get a subsidy, Verizon still won't give me ...

I'm sorry, but Sprint has just announced garbage. This is what they announced a Press Event for? C'mon! lol. A form factor that not too many people will care about, from a manufacturer name Kyocera? LOL!!!! It's not even 4G, when they've ha 4G phones since last year. VZW announces the Motorola Bionic, THunderbolt, Xoom, and Iphone 4. AT&T announces the Motorola Atrix, but this is what Sprint tries to hype up? They ...

I understand that it is a whole new os, but not including copy n paste and multitasking, which are basic, important features that your competitors have, was a decision that they made, and a very stupid one in my opinion. But yeah, I agree, I think that they will sell a lot of these.

I have used the service on both Verizon Wireless and AT&T, and it's a very good service. However, MediaFlo USA/Qualcomm should have expected this to be a failure. It's only available for a few phones, none new that I know of. It only offers a small amount of channels. It costs too much on top of an unlimited data plan. And last, but not least, after all of this time, the coverage area for ...

Re: FACTS!

You are correct, I was just stating the factors that are more important imo. And those factors are churn/customer loyalty, customer base, new activations, and revenue. And even if by a small margin, VZW usually always wins in those categories, and that says a lot. However, the awards by JD Powers and Consumer Digest, among others actually means a lot, because it shows you some of the reasons why a carrier performs better than another, and ...

And as far as ATT, I have denied or anything about what you are talking about. I am actually also an ATT customer, and the point of my original post wasn't even ...

Eraser, Here are some more facts for you....even with those things you claim above.....Verizon still has and had more total "post-paid" customers than ATT. Verizon has and had more 3G coverage than ATT, Verizon has and had lower churn, higher customer loyalty than ATT, and Verizon has consistently ranked higher than ATT in Voice quality and customer service....even before Verizon purchased Alltel. See, we all have some facts to post. But, after it's all said and done, ...

Yes, the Pre has some very good features, I've had an Iphone, and the blackberry Storm, and many other smartphones and dumbphones, but I am not limited to just 8GB on any of them. Even LAST YEAR'S Iphone 3G had a 16GB, and the one to be released in 2 months will have a 32GB, and most of the advanced dumbphones and smartphones can accept at least 16GB memory cards. The Pre is touted for being ...

Does the Iphone have a memory slot, no, but it has double the memory of the Pre, at 16GB, and the one that will be released in a few months has a 32GB option as well. I hope that answers your question.

"AT&T is getting the majority of data hungry, smartphone users from verizon." That's a nice little imagination that you have there. If this were the case, ATT would at least have as many post paid customers as Verizon before the Alltel acquisition. However, facts show, that even after ATT became Cingular, and then ATT again, and up til this point, Verizon still had more post-paid customers than ATT. Now these are facts that are well known in ...

Nice try Peter, While you always have people port from carriers to get certain phones, you won't see thousands leaving better service and customer care from Verizon just to get the Palm Pre from Sprint. Sprint is number 1 in the industry for LOSING customers. I doubt the Pre is going to make them actually drain customers from the number 1 carrier in America. Most people realize that this "best value", which really means cheapest price, is ...

I didn't find the correct choice in what you listed above, so I guess I'd say, d) none of the above. For me, I have more music and videos than the Pre can handle at one time, and the Pre, unlike most modern feature phones, has no expandable memory, so I'd have to remove some stuff when it gets to 8Gb limit, rather than having the convenience of just getting a larger memory card, or just swapping cards. Yes ...

LOL, you've gotta be kidding me. This is a media-centric phone, and we've had feature phones with memory expansion capability for many years now. The original Iphone came out 2 years ago with just 8GB, and they moved to a 8 and 16GB offering last year, and 16 and 32GB this year. And the Pre comes out this year with only 8GB? Both of you are the idiots. You said that based on jd power and consumer report that TMOBILE has better "nationwide coverage than ATT and Sprint". Better call quality and coverage are 2 different things. JD Powers has a call quality category. Show me a link that says anything about Tmobile having better "nationwide coverage". You 2 should probably remove your foot from your mouths.

Naw, ATT is not shaking in their boots. They will just do what they usually do...wait for Verizon to do it, and then copy them. 3G, Mobile TV, GPS Services, mobile to mobile messaging, unlimited messaging, backup assistant/mobile backup, ringback/answertones, unlimited calling, and the list goes on and on. So, they are not scared, they will just offer the same thing.

I think all of you who claim that this phone is a flop should wait until you see official sales figures. Also, remember this point, the issues with the Storm are mostly software related. The issues with the original iphone and iphone 3G were software related and rf related. The Storm's main problems are lag and freezing, both of which are obviously software related issues that can be fixed. Other than that, it's really a ...
