Simple. It's called *R.A.S. it is a widespread epidemic that a lot of people suffer from. Well to be honest I don't know if the fact that it only works on 1900 Mhz only would keep you from having reception issues. I think it might. Let me guess this was a T-Mobile phone before it was unlocked right??

First of all what phone are you talking about? Second of all I don't think there IS a phone on att/cingular that only uses 1900 Mhz (reps correct me if I am wrong) unless you are buying a unlocked phone from eBay or something like that...BTW this is my OPINION. Someone with REAL info will correct me if I am wrong. :wink:

Uh well since you have a Nokia 6620 just get the Nokia 3120 as a backup...hope that helps. :?

If you read carefully you would see that the words in ORANGE MEAN that PHONE & PRICE are ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE. If you really want one go on eBay and get it. Be prepared to pay as much as $300 for one though. Why not get a Samsung e317? It is a pretty good phone. :wink:

You should try checking on eBay for one of those. As for using with a Cingular plan the answer is no. Hope that helps.

Okay so if someone has a At&t contract that lasts until march of 2006, Cingular will honor their contract correct? But what about wanting to end your At&t contract? Will you have to pay an ETF? The only reason I am asking is because my sister has an At&t contract and she doesn't want to migrate to Cingular. So I wanted to know if she wanted to leave her At&t contract, can she do so without being charged an ...

I have a question or two... 1) EXACTLY how long can you stay on an At&t contract until you are "forced" to migrate over to a Cingular plan? 2) If you don't want to migrate over to Cingular do you have a right to terminate your contract and not have to pay the ETF? (Of course I know you have to pay whatever air time charges remain) Thanks for any help on this.

Well finally someone has discovered this!! I have been reading this whole thread and I realized like some of these other "bashing threads" that a lot of the people who start these threads don't reply back most of the time. They probably do that just to spark flame wars...and you know what? It works. It's like moths to flames(pun intended). :P

No you can't change the banner on that model. It will say At&t Wireless all the time.

Well I went into a VZW store just to check the phones out and well I am still leaning toward the Lg 4500 and the Lg 6000... I did check out the Nokia and yeah it looks so-so. I guess when I go on Monday to start my service I will make the final decision then. Anyway don't I have 15 days to decide if that is the phone I want anyway? :?

Yeah I have had some problems with reception on the 84 with my VERY SOON TO BE ex carrier Attws. But then again I always thought it was just At&t.... :lol: But anyway I will be getting my new Verizon service on monday. :twisted:. Thanks for the help Sponge. :wink:

Thanks fokrabb for the imput. I was looking at the Nokia (I know they make good quality phones) and for me as long as I can use my phone and it has no problems then I will give the Nokia 3589i a shot. If you say you have used this phone in my area and have had no problems then I will take a chance and get this one. Thank you to all that have helped me. You guys ...

I really don't care if the phone has a camera or not but I just want something with good battery life and great signal strength. I was on the VZW website checking out the latest deals so I can decide what plan & phone I wanted (I am porting from ATTWS) and I noticed the V60s is no longer listed! :x What gives? Is it being replaced? :(

Well I am a current ATTWS customer :roll: and while I do like my service I for one WILL be one of those 10 to 1 folks porting over to Verizon simply because I HATE cingular (sorry phonepimp :P ) and refuse to be one of their customers. So once the merger really goes down I am escaping to the so called "Ememy" of cellular. I guess I have fallen prey to the Verizon hype.... :twisted:

Nevermind about the second question I did a little research and found out that it is not the same as the 3620 it's way better. I still would like to know the answers to the other questions though but in the meantime I will keep looking... :wink:

Hello At&t reps! :D I have some quick questions about certain Nokia phones...any answers will be greatly appreciated. 1) What is the difference between the 3100 & 3120? 2) Is the 6620 the same phone as the 3620? If not what is the difference other than the design? 3) Will At&t get the Nokia 6230? That would be a great phone for them to have! Thanks for checking out my thread. 8)

Well I have read in the Cingular forum that they are discontinuing the V600...is At&t following them by doing the same? I would hope not because I plan on getting one of these phones and I just thought I'd ask. 8O

Okay I have heard that Cingular is phasing out their TDMA service by the end of the year. Now we already know they bought AT&T so my question is will they phase out the TDMA AT&T has when the acquisition is complete? Or will AT&T start phasing it out now?

Wow...That i830 phone really looks sweet. I can't wait until this phone finally comes out! I was kind of unsure about joining Nextel but after seeing that phone let's just say I have a change of heart...I just hope the service doesn't make me regret leaving my carrier...but that phone...man I love that phone....Thanks Nextel! Oh and will someone who REALLY knows tell me the release date so That I can get my money ready?? :D

Yeah I hate T-mobile. I had them when they where Omnipoint (remember them??) They were pretty good back them but for me the downward spiral began once they turned to Voicestream and then T-mobile...I was so glad when my contract was up I threw a party :lol: anyway I hate them for that but as for their service now...I don't know if it got better after I left and to be honest I don't care. :P

Well Cingular is victorious. Ok now it's time to look ahead to what the future will bring. You know one thing this buyout has done? It has caused the end to the At&t Wireless forum here on phonescoop. Yeah this forum that alot of people love....to hate.
