You SURE you don't work for Sprint? /;|
Cobwebs
Is it just me, or is this the last half of 2010? Why does Phone Scoop's description of Verizon Wireless include the following: "Verizon purchased Alltel in early 2009, and will integrate Alltel gradually during the middle of 2009"?? Shouldn't this read: "Verizon purchased Alltel in early 2009, and is currently updating to an LTE network."?? Does PhoneScoop even pay attention to their site? /;|
Re: The question I have is...
A bold claim. It raises questions... If Sprint has amassed more spectrum than the Big Two... and has "enough to push more data than all US carriers combined"... why are they consistently churning over customers? Why would ATT and Verizon allow their lead to so easily be usurped, when they have MUCH more cash on hand to do something about it? And lastly, why would Sprint not do EVERYTHING in their power to market ...
Re: Consumer Reports
When did they say the antenna issues WERENT a big deal? The video I saw said they flatly don't recommend it without a fix.
Re: No Abrasion- it's glass and metal
"If you honestly want to settle for a lesser phone because you're morally opposed to using a case, then return it."
A lesser phone? You mean, like one that doesn't require a CASE covering it up so you dont drop calls? Hmmm.... 8O
Re: Holding just about any phone in a certain manner will affect sensitivity
The phone drops calls when you hold it on the left bottom side. "Attenuation" is one thing, but if "literally just about every phone under the sun" was doing this, you'd hear about it. You know, like we're now hearing about the iphone 4.
Re: "Bash his thick billionaire hippie skull against the wall of the nearest Verizon store"
I'm not sure what you're basing that on. Consumer Reports seemed to have a different idea about who has the best network. Oh, but then, they also said they couldn't recommend the iphone 4, so they must be full of it, eh?
Re: Yawn...
Well... I'm gonna go out on a limb here. Your name is "i don't". Say- that wouldn't be a reference to the 6 month old Verizon ad for the Droid, would it? Hmmm... I'm sniffin' around and I'm gettin' a whif of bias. In addition- is it just me? Or is Verizon putting out more phones than ever before? Granted, it ain't no smart phone (like the iphone), but could it ...
Re: Consumer Reports
Yeah. I knew they did lousy last year. But after all of these upgrades, I'm wondering how they'll do this year. And I'm also wondering if they're upgrading their customer service. We'll see.
Consumer Reports
I'll wait to see what Consumer Reports says at year's end.
Re: Coverage Concerns
Wow. I am SO sorry. This whole situation would really frustrate ME, too. It's clear you need these devices to work. Rebooting phones isn’t a long term fix- it's a temporary solution. If the phone seems to have issues, most likely it is just that: the phone. Please tell me about your coverage area. Do you have good service there? How many bars show on your phone? May I ask your zip code?
I am so ...
Translation:
The network is aaallll better, now. Trust us. Network quality is what we're known for and that's where we put our money. Honest. And we got the iphone, too. So how about you buy an iphone and spin the wheel!
Re: Wow!
It won't matter to the iphone fanboys. They only have one love. It ain't about the phone... it's about that logo on the front.
Re: This is a load of crap
Not necessarily. If your company lacked vision or a roadmap, wouldn't you watch what the most succesful provider is doing and then implement it yourself?
Frequency be damned.
Re: Menno predicted this
Absolutely AGREED! I mean... what a couple of retards (Verizon and ATT). Giving away $400 phones for $200 and then charging people when they run away with them without paying for them. Those bastards!!! /;|
Re: Man i hate verizon and everything
Unless you sign a contract stating you agree to "any material changes are made that you dont like". :?
Re: Awesome....
$10?? If they're lucky, they'll get something closer to $1 each... Thats the nature of Class Action suits. The attorney's trick is to play upon the plantiff's emotions so they sign on for the emotional payoff as opposed to any significant financial reward. It's a dirty business.
Re: This is a load of crap
This is the ATT Business Plan. Watch what Verizon does, then follow suit.
Re: US Cellular has their customer's backs!
While I am CERTAIN Verizon, ATT, and others offer NOTHING to check minute usage... aside from bills, a customer service number, their websites, #MIN on their phones, and free services to notify... the best part of US Cellular is their FANTASTIC covergage!!! Next time I vacation in Disney World, I guess I won't go over my minutes! But will my phone work? 8O
FREE STUFF
I'm afraid this is an all too familiar pattern in the U.S. This feeling of "entitlement". This kid stole from a company. Pure and simple. It's sort of like a mature looking 17 or 18 year old walking into a bar and loading up on drinks, then leaving without paying. You could make a nice argument that he shouldn't have been allowed in. But he was in... and while there, he consumed product. ...
Re: But what about those geniuses...
Free, yes. But sms blocks halt ALL texts. And yes, they can always check usage online, but will they? Do they now?
But what about those geniuses...
There will always be customers who block texts, and then don't get the "Bill Shock" warning text. Then, they accuse carriers of not properly informing them of their usage. Customers carry a little responsibility, too.
Re: Well...
The Coyote's high. And all the funny little "cigarettes" have an apple with a bite taken out, stamped on them.
He uses the "availability heuristic"- "I've owned one...", as if to say his experience is typical of ALL users. He goes on to spew words like "lag", which is highly subjective.
I ain't sportin' a magic Delorian, so I'll wait and see how things sort out.
Re: Well...
If the article is accurate, not for 2 more years. I suppose they will have to "suffer" with the Android OS phones, instead.
Re: So is this really a benefit to Android, or is this something you're adding for the sake of it.
That must be why nobody wants an Android phone. Oh, wait...
Unable to verify??
Couldn't a tech just show her the LCI tabs on her phone so she could "verify" they've changed color? What does she want- hidden video showing her exposing the phone to moisture??
Re: Now Verizon needs to drop their ads
Why exactly does Verizon need to drop their ads? And you have to admit, that Island of Misfit Toys commercial was freakin' hilarious! :D
Re: All new for 2007! (And no IM support?)
What if there was an apple with a bite taken out of it, on the front of the phone?
Re: Maybe....
Have to agree with the coyote on that. Apple users are blind, deaf and dumb. They will talk themselves into being okay with this. The only thing they care about is that little apple logo with the bite taken out of it.
100 day improvement plan...
What happens after the 100 days are up? :o
Re: iphone for verizon???
NO. People love the Apple Network. The iphone is Perfection in carnate. To put one anywhere else than the Apple Network would be sacreligous. (whew) So, how'd I do? Does that sound like I drank the cool aid? lol
Best Shack?
The problem here is the Block Buster Model. You go to a Block Buster and the kid behind the counter knows nothing about movies... or even the product in the store. The Radio Shack employees (when they choose to help you) are the same. Best Buy, on the other hand, has great employee training and someone is always eager to assist you. So when Radio Shack becomes Best Shack or whatever, it will be interesting ...
Re: You can
Actually, I thought that's what Hogsauce WAS: A Pig in a Bucket.
Re: I got some bad news for you sweetie.
Not only that... it will free you up to "sell your soul" to another carrier. A carrier that NEVER has ANY bad phones. EVER. They carry the Droid, the iphone, only the coolest ones! Plus... they're 100% FREE! Also, when you call in to customer service, they actually PAY YOU! All the minutes are unlimted (The plans are free, too). No tattoos, either... and the coverege is EVERYWHERE.
Re: Will help Sprint in the long run
Look for your local grocer to charge you for milk!! :paranoid:
Re: Free data is not a reward
Remember- These are American Consumers you're talking about. The same folks who lose their minds when they find out they might have to pay something to get a phone. The same folks who swap carriers when they go over their minutes and find out they actually have to pay for the overage. Your ideas are sound, but packaging them to the consumer and making them work in the real world may be harder than you ...
Re: For those claiming the suit has no merit
You said you were a Verizon Wireless employee. May I ask- Have you EVER seen these data charges on ANY of your bills? Just curious.
Re: New Branding?
A Brand's name is huge. It carries enormous weight to the owner's of that brand. This isn't being done for simplicity... it's deliberate. The question is... why? Verizon is the Landline company. Here, the word "wireless" is important as it identifies a specific brand: "Verizon Wireless", as opposed to "Verizon" (the landline carrier). Is Verizon Wireless being somehow absorbed into Verizon Landline?
Re: New Branding?
Does this mean landline is somehow joining with wireless?
Re: I call forced data plans "artificial profit"
Menno- I can't tell you the number of people I talk to every day who ask "how much is unlimited calling?" Something about the word "unlimited" is like spooning chum into shark-infested waters.
