Well the coverage looks like it will expand in Michigan but not far enough North for me. I was hoping for the UP to get some verizon coverage but it looks like the the lower half is going to get it all this time. "The spectrum licenses also include nine new markets for Verizon Wireless and expansion of four existing markets, adding 2.7 million people to the company’s licensed footprint. These markets include: Battle Creek, Jackson, Traverse City, Adrian, ...

Re: RL-7300 Is here!!

Simply because I want the durability, the speaker phone, SMS, and I don't want a camera because of the extra $100. If it was only $30 or $40 more for the camera then it would be interesting but $100 really isn't worth it for a camera that isn't even a 1 megapixel or better camera. Also I am not a new customer. Currently I have the 4900 but it's length on my hip has become annoying ...

In the Chicago area, north and northwest of the city, no store has the phone as of yet but it seems that they all anticipate receiving the phone this week Wednesday or Thursday. So I am betting it will be store available this weekend, 3/6. :)

Here is a link from Sanyo. Not all the links on the webpage relate to the 7300. http://www.sanyo.com/wireless/handse ts/scp-7300.htm In fact when you click on the buy link it takes you to the sprint webpage for the RL2000.

I agree with josh. I don't work in a rugged environment but I cracked my 4900 face the first week I got it, summer 03, and ever since I have been waiting for a more rugged flip phone to come out, without camera, that has the speakerphone. I really like my 4900 but I have come to the conclusion that I really need tri-mode as well to roam effectively, as I often do, and I need a ...

RL2500 GONE????!!!

Calling all phone experts on Sprint. What's up with Sprint and the RL2500? I just noticed today that on Sprints website they no longer show the RL2500. I understand that it was identical to the VM4500 minus the camera but I was considering it for just that reason, same phone lower price. Is there a new phone in the works for Sprint from Sanyo or was this just a rapid phase in phase out? :(

My opinion is that the 4900 works on network but off-network it is pretty useless. I roam in N. Michigan and my brother in laws Verizon works fine, my cingular and At&t worked fine but my 4900 gets the weakest signal of them all. I will probably be getting a new Sanyo 5500 with tri-mode to see if that fixes the problem for me in the future. I love the Sanyo but I just need better ...

Thanks for the info. Well I don't really need Vision but being a tech junkie I would probably get a vision phone just to play with it. Any suggestions on other models? I have been looking at the samsung vga1000 or the new sanyo 5500. My biggest thing is the speaker phone, it is a feature I love to use which is why I am leaning towards the sanyo. :)

Wireless Service Off of Sprint's Network??
Dec 23, 2003, 12:57 AM
in the Sprint forum

Does anyone have any good answers or experience with Sprint off network? Specifically I am referring to going north of Green Bay, WI where Sprints network ends. The reason I ask is that previously I have had service with AT&T and Cingular and their TDMA networks had coverage or roaming coverage in most areas where I travel. With Sprint, Sanyo 4900 latest PRL, I get spotty at best coverage where I previously had near perfect coverage ...
