No, the parents are paying for the plan. They should be able to locate the phones they are paying for.

AT&T is the largest GSM carrier in the states. It makes sense that they would want to keep working with them so they only have to produce one device. The iPad is an unlocked device though and according to the stats page on apple it has all the required bands to run just fine on T-mobile if that is what you want to do. How T-mobile will handle you accessing their network is something completely different though.

What are you talking about. 32 gig iphone costs 699 with no subsidy and 32 gig ipad costs 729 with no subsidy. Do you honestly think that this device costs more then 130 bucks to make more then the iphone? Absolutely no way. Sign a 2 year contract with AT&T and the price drops to 299. Subsidy makes sense.

They are not always bashing T-Mobile. If anything they are always bashing AT&T and showing love to T-Mobile. It's funny how every one complains about other companies, AT&T in specific, having 3g network issues but as soon as any other carrier finally gets a phone worthy of comparison and it comes with network issues it definitely can't be the network.

No I am not wrong. As of the 18th AT&T requires all qwerty phones to either have a 20 dollar data or texting plan per line or a 30 dollar family texting plan on family accounts.

Yes they have. Effective as of yesterday, the 18th, all "Quick Messaging" devices are required to have either a minimum of 20 dollars data per line or the 30 dollar unlimited family texting package.

Can you please link references to these reports? I was under the impression that T-Mobiles 7.2 Mbps HSPA is currently the fastest. Either way though, my point is that the big 2 carriers are not necessarily the best in any aspect of service.

Verizon, and now AT&T, don't see the problem of lack of non 3G phones as a problem though. You have the option to either purchase a "dumb phone" and only pay for the ability to talk if you so choose too. With out going into a long debate on what's wrong with the states today I just find it silly that people claim they have no decision on what they have to pay. The fact is that Verizon ...

I don't understand the issue with the ETF. Don't break your contract and you won't have to pay the price of a phone. Getting a discount on a phone for signing a 2 year contract and then breaking your contract is akin to straight up theft. In my opinion Google is taking the more logical approach when it comes to ETF. This phone costs 529 dollars. We will sell it to you ...

It's not forced, just like the $350.00 ETF wasn't forced. If you don't want the data don't purchase that model phone. It's really not that complicated.

I care as well. I am an AT&T customer for my personal line but pay for a dozen lines for my employees because Verizon gives the same service at a larger discount. If I'm forced to pay an additional ten bucks per line my bill goes up by 120+ dollars and is no longer the better bargain.

ETF is changing? Any more information on that? Also, according to Boy Genius Verizon plans on making mandatory data plans on all 3g devices. I'd assume this would be included in that meeting.

AT&T does this and all hell breaks out. Verizon does this and it's just greedy capitalism that the states are founded on. Not that I disagree with you, because it is just greedy capitalism and all we can really do is complain / switch companies to another, slightly less greedy, company. Just funny.

Are you the owner of the dealer? If so that sucks you can't get it ahead of time. As a cor store employee I absolutely hate dealers as I am constantly dealing with customers that they had mis lead or flat out lied too. You sound like a honest guy though and I'd much rather you get it then some ****ty planet cellular.

@Menno and by factual, AT&T's data coverage is nearly as large as Verizon's within the united states. AT&T provides over 90% of their consumer base with nearly twice as fast connection speeds and the other 10% are only restricted by a third of the speed. Not to mention AT&T is the only true 3G network, being able to have simultaneous voice and data while Verizon can not. When you look at the actual facts there really is no comparison.

Look at that thing, definitely not an apple product. Apple wouldn't ever make anything that ugly. If they do make a CDMA model it will either be exactly like the current iPhone or will be based to look more like the old school nano's ( second gens ) but with a full size screen.

This just hit the shelves tonight. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the phone, but i'm not hating it either. It's a very fast phone, but the odd shape, almost identical to the shape of the propels, is very akward. The extremely quick touch screen is nice though. Software wise / touch screen wise ; I'd rate it much better then the impression. Physical design wise ; It doesn't compete with the ...

It's not about AT&T manafacturing the phones. It's about what "new" ones we get. Verizon just announced how many new phones? A good bit right. I love my iPhone 100% but as a sales consultant it would be nice to have a few more new phones to talk about this Christmas. Other then the the revel and flight which no one knows anything about.
