Re: You're Late... again
The Storm sucks. Maybe the other carriers saw that.
Re: At the end of the day...
I'm not into anything Apple makes.
Re: ...or cancel now.
Indeed!
Re: At the end of the day...
Yeah. That'll happen when I, a guy, get a date with a lesbian.

Okay, why would Verizon have a higher ETF on smartphones?
These type of phones represent the most risk to the company financially. They subsidize these phones more than others because they want to keep the consumer cost down. But if you choose to break contract before it's over then they reserve the right to bill out the ETF to recoup lost revenue on the equipment and the monthly service you agreed to pay when you got the phone ...
Re: It depends...
Thankfully, I'm in the US!
Re: It depends...
So sign up or upgrade NOW!
Re: high chance...
Or getting a phone dirt cheap at Walmart (The BlackBerry 8520 for $28.88, for example). Play your cards right and you can sell that for 2 bills! (i.e. $200)
Re: It depends...
Yeah. I have a Verizon line and a T-Mobile line. That sucks.
Okay, then....
Does this mean that other companies will do it, too?
Re: What happens to returned smartphones?
Although I highly disagree with it, it makes sense.
Re: The Real Question
Ouch!

So, I've been with T-Mobile for a long, long time, right? I have a Sidekick and a BlackBerry that I just purchased. The Sidekick went out and they blamed it on Microsoft. That's fine. Okay, I dealt with it. So, I keep faith in T-Mobile and purchased this BlackBerry that I saw Tuesday. I figured I might as well leave the Sidekick and get the Cliq. Fail!
T-mobile goes down again. Now, who are you going to blame ...

Not if Rich, himself, had to correct you. :P
Re: Difference between Pearl & Curve???
Same thing, different size.
Re: Pearl OR curve
Minus the size and the keyboard, they're really the same.
Re: No UI customization on a Verizon phone?
That's good. I understand why they do it, but it was getting old.
Re: No UI customization on a Verizon phone?
I just came back to Verizon. When I had them a few years ago, all of the non-smartphone phones had Verizon's own UI on them. It just seems rare that a phone that's not Windows Mobile, Palm or BlackBerry doesn't have that same "crippling".
No UI customization on a Verizon phone?
That's awesome!
Re: Didn't they say with the Storm?
That's real talk! I had the first Storm 9530, and sold it quickly.

Well it's about time someone said it! VZW, Motorola, Android...what do those have to do with the iPhone!
You've got a better network, the inventor of cell phones (or something like that), and a new upcoming OS. Advertise that, don't go after ATT and the iPhone.
Hey don't get me wrong, I can't wait for the Droid. I just think VZW should have advertised it on its own merits. But I know there will be some ATT/iPhone users that will ...
Re: AT&T being last.... :(
Well, if that's the case, I apologize. You're on to something, though. When I had a Tilt, before switching carriers, it was annoying to use the headphones (which weren't included like the other carrier's versions [but that's a whole nother thread]) via the splitter, while charging it.
Re: AT&T being last.... :(
Verizon's the first to cripple their phones.

Why has AT&T been last in so many different things in many different aspects. They are the last to introduce there Touch Pro 2 (Tilt 2) I know the delay was for 6.5 but the least they could have done was throw in a 3.5 jack, the last to introduce a unlimited calling feature (eg. A-List), the last to introduce a android (if its still on its way) come on now AT&T you used to be a leader ...
Now, THIS is a phone!
It's like the 8520 and the Bold 9000 got together and made a baby! I want it!
Re: 'Even More' BS
T-Mobile's EDGE is better than my current luck with Verizon (braces for attacks).
In that case...
.. will the Storm one eventually become free, since it's $49.99 online?
