Re: Since February
Google has never advertised installing apps outside the playstore. Infact they have always advised against it. Secondly, those Droid does commercials where from Verizon and not Google. Even then I dont remember them taunting that particular feature of Android.
95% or more of Android owners wont be affected because most dont know how or even know if they can install 3rd party aps. Google even block people from doing it unless someone purposely goes through the settings menu to unlock ...
Re: memory card, battery
Verizon had every opportunity to get the HTC One on launch but decided against it because they wanted to continue to promote their Droid lineup like the Droid DNA and Droid Incredible 4g. Verizon is so hell bent on controlling every damn thing. In the end it ended up biting them in the ass because the HTC One is HTC's best selling smart phone to date. Thats the only reason why Verizon is trying to get the phone on ...
Re:THATS NOT TRUE!!! You can cancel w/o playing ETF!!!!
That's not completely true..... Yes there is a clause in the TOS that states they may change any terms, conditions, rates, fees, expenses, or charges regarding your Services at any time. But even though they have this clause, they are required to give you at least a 30 day notice of the changes and they are required to give you (usually) at least 30 days from the first bill that reflects the changes for you to cancel service ...

I'm by no means a Verizon expert, I just feel like it'll be easier for Verizon to clamp down on practices like that based on the fact that CDMA phones don't use a SIM card. With AT&T or T-Mobile, it's as easy as swapping SIM cards between phones. Verizon has more control over which phone you have on what line.
Dude.... The LTE phones does use SIM cards....
Re: Unlimited Data
That's what I did to keep my unlimited data plan. I upgraded one of my other lines and transferred the device to my unlimited line. Hopefully this loop hole still works when ever these new plans kick in....
Re: The most important function of a web browser!!!
Have you tried cleaning out the heat sink and fan. My old labtop used to over heat and it was back to normal once I opened it up and cleaned everything out. Or you can spray compressed air in the vent. Alot of dust get trapped in there.

Kind of like the way that Marxist Democrats like Obama champion 'choice' about abortion, but reject giving parents the right to choose school their children attend, and oppose allowing workers a choice about whether or not to join a labor union. People have the right to choose....except when they might make a choice that the left disapproves of....
First off many Democrats support the idea of parents choosing where their children attend schools. Obama himself even support ...

I find it interesting that nobody was up in arms when that whore of a company VZ was eating up its competition in rural america when they bought air touch, Alltel and many others just to name a few. The DOJ is owned and controlled by Verizon and Sprint has heavy influencers in that space as well. Were those mergers any different when it comes to a market by market monopoly? If they block this acquisition the FCC ...

No, it's not automatic.
Before the update, but after the 6th, the feature just didn't work for me.
After the update, when I try there is a message telling me to call customer care.
Either way, I have to consent to the feature to use it, software upgrade or not. The feature was both on the phone and a feature code in the network. Once the feature code expired, you had to add the new $30 feature, upgraded software ...

Well if u can remember back when it was extended, VZW sent a txt out educating all 4G phone users about the extension and if used afterwards that they will be charge the 30.00 fee for the feat. And they keep record of those txt sent to the phone too and exactly what the txt states also to back up their claim too.
I never received such a text.... And Verizon is not going to automatically add something to ...

Its not like their customers didnt have no data services. People still could have connected using VZW's 3g network.

He's as-of-yet failed to comment on whether it was done through a physical person or via any online means though. There *is* no due dilligence when it's ran online. Any company you can order and activate online with *has* the possibility of this problem.
He said back in 2001 which means it was highly unlikely it was done online.

I wouldnt call it apple flash hate. I downloaded it and set it for on demand only. Using the droid 1 it slows the internet down DRASTICLY. Its nice to have, yes, but it is not as good as flash for PC
The Droid 1 has bare minimum specs for Adobe flash. So that has alot to do with your performance issues.

The VZW towers where I live all have back up generators. But then again the device in your home may need to use electricity.

RIM is taking a waxing because their smartphone OS simply isn't powerful enough for 2010. It was a very nice and efficient OS in the days of the Pearl, but it's outclassed in every metric today. I hate writing this, because on Phonescoop's own forums I said back in 2006 that it was Blackberry that was the future.
The problem is that RIM simply sat on their collective behinds and produced round after round of crap software. Then, of ...

How about when the rep offers to block web access for customers to completely eliminate "accidental" web access, the customer says "No" but comes in 3 bills later wanting $50 in credit... Customers need to start taking responsiblity for their actions and decisions.
What??? This wouldn't apply to them. This only applies to people who accidently hit the web botton on their phones and get charged $1.99/mb when they one used 3kb of data.

Re: Froyo runs great on my droid also
I dont know what this fool is talking about. I have none of those problems on my droid 1 running froyo! Flash runs great. Websites still load up faster than my sister's iphone. I rarely have any force closes. Pinch to zoom still works great! Dont blame Android because you foolishly decided to run a task killer which is causing majority of your problems!
Re: Lets leave Flash in the Past...
Leave flash in the past?? Thats easier said than done. Majority of websites still use flash to deliver media content and I doubt that will change anytime soon. Also, most new Android phones with faster processors and video chips help eliminate choppy flash content. Also, it has alot to do with coding. The same goes for HTML5. Also, like Menno said... The mobile versions of most websites lack alot of content offered on the full version of the website. ...

Yup, I know, but what if you accidentally open it, and then start using other apps??? If phones come with so many preloaded sh*t, you can accidentally open apps and get a worse performance on your phone...

Sorry. I didn't proof read my work... What I meant to say was... If you are not using that particular app then it will not affect the speed of the processor.
Re: Preloaded?!!!? Screw you Verizon! ! !
Jayshmay said:
Likely if it comes preinstalled the only way to uninstall would be by rooting.
No.... Google Voice, Google maps, and Pandora came preinstalled on my Droid and I can delete those anytime I want to.. Thats why its called "pre-installed." They are not saying its going to be apart of the OS.
Re: Preloaded?!!!? Screw you Verizon! ! !
WolfCR13 said:
What is annoying here is the excess of preloaded software that lowers processor speeds and decreases device's usage, so the problem here is not the app itsef, the problem is that VZW's phones have ONE MORE preloaded app...
If are not using that particular app then there wont be any affect on professor speeds.
Re: Preloaded?!!!? Screw you Verizon! ! !

This is going too far Verizon! ! ! My choices come down to rooting my next smartphone, or getting a Super AMOLED equiped Samsung Android smartphone from Sprint with WiMax. Verizon is intruding too much in the user exeperience!!!
So ****ing what??? If you dont like the preloaded app then dont use. Or better yet just uninstall it. Its only tkaes 3 clicks to delete an app. :paranoid:

If Verizon isn't set up on the LTE network yet? :?
USe your head... It takes a while for the FCC to approve equipment... It wouldnt make sense for them to send the modem for approval after they launch LTE. Also Im sure they are going to use to modem to test their LTE network even further. Also, they are probably going to test the device to make sure its working properly before the launch date.
Re: you will get Android after they closed your account!
They do suck... We purchased our house with Wamu but of course Chase brought them out. Shortly after that we kept having billing problems with them. We would send out our payment slip and check via the mail. Chase would cash the check but for some reason it would never show up on our account as paid. And its not like we are just mailing them a check. We included the payment slip from the booklet they gave us ...
Re: The problem is..
I dont understand your point.... Yeah all phones loose some type of reception when held in a particular way. But the difference with the iphone 4 is the fact that it looses all reception completely. Also it was dumb for crapple to put the antenna near where most people hold their phone. Most people hold their phone from the center down to the bottom. Who holds their phone near the very tip of the phone? It was a design ...
I saw this comming a mile away!!
I predicted this years ago. First of all Flo is not supported by many devices. You cant expect to do great numbers when only a small fraction of sales supports Flo. Only two carriers offer the flo service. On top of that the service is not offered everywhere. Flo's coverage area is very limiting. The people whos phones support the service cant purchase it because they are not in the coverage area. Lastly, the content is very limiting on ...

What are you talking about? Its not like they are in the process of designing it. Qualcomm has designed it and are shipping it off to phone manufacturers. You can expect one of these chips the end of this year to the beginning of next year.
