Well I paid $400 for mine on eBay. I then sold my old phone and got $60. So total out of pocket was only $340.00 Its not "that" expensive when considering all of its features. And I have spoken to a couple of people with both the V525 & V600 and they all report that the V525 is a better phone. Well... I can't rate the V600 cause I don't own one, but I absolutely love ...

Wow. I just tried the first link and it openned. Then I tried to download the file and that worked too. I don't know whats up on your end. Regarding the second link, it only houses the update files. Try again from another PC I guess. Or maybe the link was down when you tried it. It works now as of this posting. Laters

Usually when I get this type of error in XP pro the only thing I can do to get the job done is: Restore back to a previous point. or Download the file again because I suspect the file of being corrupt. Hope this helps you. Any Windows OS is a sensitive thing. So depending on how much usage, installing & uninstalling has been done a re-install of XP might be in order to make it work. I don't know how bad ...

Can you reply with the actual error message? Also what OS are you using? I have found my Win2K acted funny but XP Pro worked like a charm!

I've spoken to alot of people that say the Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 2 version that allows you to upload ringtones & images isn't out yet. Well.... that may be true, but thats never stopped me before. Here is how you get it: Firstly you'll need a previous version of Motorola Mobile PhoneTools and an update. I stopped in to the Cingular headquarters office in Santa Monica, CA yesterday. They confirmed a shipping date of 12/22/2003. My assumption is that they will go to the Cingular warehouse, then to the stores. I am setting my expectations on the end of the 1st week on Jan. Anyone want to make bets? :) Matt

I am debating getting a V300, V400, V500 or v525 phone. My only requirement is the use of software to upload images & mp3 ringtones... and I can do without the V500/V525 bluetooth if need be. Does anyone know the software's true compatibility with all 4 phones. Thanks Matt

Hi everybody, I have checked out the compatibility with the Motorola Phone tools software that was recently released and it lists the V300 but not the V400. Does anyone know if the V400 will work with it? My main focus is to upload images and Mp3 ringtones to the phone. I figure because the 2 phones are so similar that it will, but I figured I'd ask the professionals here! Talk to yal soon. Matt
