Clearwire's only hope of being around a few more years was this deal, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see if they tried again. Take a look at their stock price from IPO til now. Also note how much money they spent last year on network deployment, its almost a joke... a sick sick joke on their stockholders

Sorry Sprint? Clearwire was likely at Sprints mercy in this decision. Either way Sprint is still building out Wimax like crazy, so I don't see this as a huge loss.
Sounds like Alltel is trying to push stock up again?
Doesn't Alltel do this once or twice a year for the last couple years?

That's true however T-Mobile's site is still insecure and has been criticized for the lack of security way before the whole incident has happend and very little has changed.

W-CDMA is better but is completly unrelated to the CDMA found in Verizon Sprint and Alltel. W-CDMA is the upgrade path for GSM found in Cingular and T-Mobile etc

Phonescoops specs aren't always right, at this current moment it could go to pretty much any CDMA provider.

Oh yeah thats right, Alltel being to small of a carrier to land this phone I doubt any carrier smaller than Alltel will land this phone, it's pretty obvious it's going to Vzw

The phone is CDMA. The full name of the phone is SPH-4400, SPH being for SprintPCS. As long as Sprint aproves it this phone should be out in a while hopefully. I'm sure it'll cost a pretty penny also.
