Call your local Cingular Wireless store to check availability. I'm a sales rep in Houston and we just received 3 in our inventory today. It's a great little phone. Excellent camera and zoom!!!

I work for Cingular and I've been told by our Nokia rep that it should be any day now. He said definitely before Sept. 1st

I've been told around Christmas. Cingular will be rolling out a slew of new phones between Thanksgiving and Christmas in anticipation of the acquisition of AT&T and this is one slated for release during the reintroduction of Cingular. I've been told by a Motorola rep for Cingular Wireless and that is what he told us. Also, the RAZR V3 is coming out around the same time.

Instant Messaging Client

in the Nokia 6230 forum

Any word yet if this phone will include an Instant Messaging client, such as AIM, ICQ, or Yahoo!? It should considering most of the new Nokia phones support at least AIM...just not sure. Let me know if anybody has some info! Thanks!

Re: Any carriers in the US offering this phone yet?

I am an employee of Cingular Wireless and it is on our price sheet for this month. I'm assuming later this month or early next month for release on Cingular's network. Price is $200 on a 2 yr, $250 on a 1 yr, or $300 on no commit. I'll definitely be buying this model the minute it comes out! :D

Bluetooth Question
May 3, 2004, 11:02 AM
in the Nokia 6230 forum

Does anybody know if there are any bluetooth problems with this phone? I am debating between this phone and a V600, but with the V600, it does not ring if you have the bluetooth headset connected. Kind of presents a problem if you're used to just putting the headset on only when it rings. :P If anybody knows any possible bluetooth flaws/problems, please let me know.

FYI...I work for Cingular, so I'm not some lame customer that is saying that I have a V600. :P

I'm holding a brand new V600 for Cingular in my hands right now. We just received a shipment of 10 to start. The phone is $299.99 on a 2 yr contract with a $50 rebate. It's finally here!!!!!

Re: NOKIA: The Worst Cell Maker...

The best thing about Nokia's is the user-friendly interface. I don't care how advanced a user is, they do not want to have to go through 50 menus to get where they need to be. To be honest, I'm really not the biggest Nokia fan (due to phones currently lacking great color screens), but Nokia is going to be rolling out an entirely new line of phones that support 16-bit color (65,536 colors) which will definitely change ...

Unlocking phones isn't the best for consumers!
Apr 9, 2004, 6:23 PM
in the Article: Consumers Union To FCC: Unlock Our Phones forum

The only problem with unlocking phones (especially GSM phones) is the use of different frequencies with different companies in different markets. Perfect examples are the phones that are already unlocked overseas that are brought back to the states. The consumer automatically thinks GSM is GSM is GSM (meaning that any GSM phone will work on any network, anywhere). NOT TRUE!!!!!!! This is the problem I encounter all of the time working for Cingular. In our market ...

Check out the new Sony Ericsson phones!!!

May not be launched soon
Feb 23, 2004, 6:52 PM
in the Motorola V600 forum

From what I hear, the V600 may not even be launched with AT&T until Cingular launches it (estimated availability early April). With the buyout still being completed, this has probably delayed the release of the phone.

Cingular does have EDGE
Feb 8, 2004, 2:47 PM
in the Nokia 6820 / 6820i forum

Cingular does have compatibility with EDGE technology as we have been selling the Nokia 6200 EDGE phone for many months now. Since the 6800 is being phased out for Cingular, I anticipate the 6820 becoming available for Cingular by April. The 6820 would be a much greater upgrade from the 6800, rather than the cosmetically identical 6810.

V600 Tentative for Cingular Wireless
Feb 7, 2004, 11:57 AM
in the Motorola V600 forum

I just found out an interesting fact. Cingular Wireless is going to carry this phone tentatively in late March. This should be another indication that AT&T and Cingular are going to merge. The equipment both companies offer and frequencies offered for GSM are very similar. I work for Cingular Wireless and this was an interesting tidbit to discover.

Re: v600 Sprint???

This phone will definitely not be offered by Sprint. Sprint is staying on CDMA for a while and doesn't really have any plans to go to a GSM network to support this phone.

Re: DEC 11: LE Aston Martin V600 Available...

I have been frequenting eBay about this phone for months now. If you ever look at the people who are selling these phones, they usually only accept payment via Western Union money transfer. The reason for this is there is no way to prevent fraud. Once your money is picked up, you have no way of knowing if your phone will come to you. I have spoken to Western Union about this issue and they ...

Carriers?
Dec 8, 2003, 7:09 PM
in the Nokia 6820 / 6820i forum

Does anybody know which carrier is going to have to 6820? I currently work for Cingular in Houston, TX and since we have the 6800, I doubt if we'll carry this phone. I would love to get a hold of this phone...it has every feature anybody could want! Please let me know if anybody can get a hold of information concerning this phone.

Most likely Cingular Wireless will not carry this phone. I work for Cingular in Houston, TX and we are going to be carrying the V400, which is basically the same phone, but lacking bluetooth. The V500/525 will most likely be carried by T-Mobile because most of their phones are world capable phones and because AT&T will be carrying the V600 (a slight upgrade to the V500).
