Or they'll realize how much money they are losing after a while and change that.
Sad
There are a lot of S60 apps that most likely won't be redeveloped. It's going to be a shame to lose them all.
Re: Diamond In the Rough.
Note to self: when stuffing someone in my automobile trunk, whom I forgot to check for a cell phone. When he yells from the trunk asking for our current zip code, I lie. Good to know.
Re: Horrible Idea
Maybe? Deaf people can utilize a TTY operator, and in most cases, I cannot see how waiting for an operator in a 911 center to respond to a text is faster or certainly more secure. What if there is an issue where text has been unprovisioned on your account, and you have no idea? There are certainly flaws to this system.
Re: boost mobile already has 50.00 unlt talk, txt, web, walkie talkie
Sweet, you'll get a really good deal on that service you can't use in half as many places as Page Plus. Smart shopper :D
Re: Great Idea
This made me lol, as did the thread above it. I made this post while driving over 75 mph from my phone, of course.
Re: Wow
Conjunction junction, what's your function? Notice the "and"? That's a conjunction. And what that means is that this sentence could also be interpreted as both:
Sprint announces the Samsung Acclaim.
Sprint announces other Green initiatives.
If you look at that second statement, it 100% supports what I said. How did I even slightly incinuate that Sprint made that phone?
Fanboys. Love em.
Re: Opera Mini vs. Opera Mobile
Correct, prefetching is a little different I believe. And yes, Mobile does cost unless you snag the Beta. Mini is java based and has no Flash support as far as I know. Not sure if Mobile does or not, I usually just pop up Skyfire for Flash sites. But Opera Mobile does seem to run a lot better, it's hard to explain. Grab the Beta and see for yourself. Opera Mobile also has ...
Re: What if...
There is a Federal Penitentary (sp?) near here, and there are homes within 100 yards of it. This plan is very flawed.
Re: Why...no need
iPhone's Safari browser doesn't support Flash, does Android? If not, then there is your answer.
Re: Opera Mini vs. Opera Mobile
If you have decent connection speed (WiFi or 3G), Mobile outperforms Mini quite well. Opera Mobile also has the Opera Turbo feature, which seems like prefetching to me.
Re: WTF?!
Simple. Opera Mini is java based. They are most likely talking about Opera Mobile which is programmed to perform off the Operating System platform. Any phone that is compatible with Java can run Opera Mini, but I don't think it renders in real time. Another server renders the page before sending it to your phone.
Re: NO PORT PLEASE HELP
You have to pay for technical support through RIM...
Android...
just keeps looking better and better. I am going to have to find an ATT phone that can run it perfectly...
Wow
While other networks are working to improve their network, Sprint is working to save the world. How noble...
Re: Again...stop playing catch up
How is this any form of emulation? The applications were merely coded in a fashion that would run on the iPhone. Code is easy to alter to support other operating systems. These applications are there own entity. They people who own an iPhone and think it gives them some proprietary "status" over everyone else need to get real...
Re: Which most likely...
An app won't matter. It's whether or not the device can read the format in which the volume is stored. For example, the difference between SD and SDHC. Completely different formatting. It's almost a hardware issue.
Re: already out
Very nice. Too bad T-Mobile coverage blows in my area. I would be all over this.
Re: hey
Not only that, do these phones seem like junk to anyone else but me? They look like the gas station cell phones through weird providers, as far as quality of construction. I dunno, just my 2 cents.
Re: Put your feet in Google's shoes for a minute
Since when is Apple obligated to accept any app? They don't need to provide a reason, they simply need to indicate they aren't interested. Jesus, next farmers will be going into markets with federal agents and the market owner will be forced to carry their fruit!
And to address your issues with high usage. The service was never designed to be unlimited. To allow unlimited service would be to open the floodgates for high users, like ...
Re: for fun you can do this at home
There is no fair or unfair. It's all perspective. One man's patriot is another man's tyrant. And your mastery (actual lack thereof) of the English language makes my colon bleed.
Which most likely...
won't be compatible was any of our current devices.
Re: Hmmm....
Human beings are so corruptable...
Re: Now they introduce it...
Nope, late August. And you realize tethering will require a higher data plan, most likely, right?
Hmmm....
I wonder if this has something to do with Apple rejecting the Google Voice app...?
Re: for fun you can do this at home
No one forces a gun to your head and makes you utilize any service. If you don't like the terms, then don't use the service. Period.
Re: So nice had to post twice???
Looks 'ok'. Is it not a touch screen?
Re: ....what?
I agree, in fact we posted almost simultaneously, weirdly enough.
So what is the difference...
between this and the Samsung Eternity?
Re: How do they plan on enforcing this?
Dark tinted glass give probable cause. The Patriot Act gives probable cause, as long as the officer is willing to swear that he felt that their could be a threat to national security in the vehicle... Probable cause is a dying breed.
How about...
seatbelt laws? I am all for this cell phone ban as it endangers others. However, I am completely against seatbelt laws. I could completely require any of my passengers to wear one, but when I am alone, how is it the government's right to dictate what I do when it doesn't cause a dangerous situation for anyone other than myself? And recent research on seatbelt injuries even gives a little more reason for arguement on ...
Re: Why doesn't anybody see the problem with this issue?
It specifically said that states who chose not to abide would simply lose funding for highways. So no one is holding a gun to anyone's heads, it's just that states who do not want to have to rethink their budget to include allowances for their state highways would benefit from cooperating. It's intended to encourage, not force.
Re: Ban wearing clothes while driving next??
Actually accidents "are" accidents. Your mastery, or lack thereof, of the English language suggests English as a second language? Perhaps go back to your home land and thin their population instead...?
Re: Don't Ban
I'm strangely comforable with what she just said...
Re: How would they know you were texting prior to the accident?
Umm, the same way they know you just put your seatbelt on before they pulled you over for not wearing a seatbelt. It's going to be their eyes against your word. And how obvious is it that you are driving under the speed limit, slightly recklessly, and paying little attention to the road?
Re: Why should I not be suprised?
This device should, at a bare minimum, support all devices with a QWERTY keyboard. Complete poor form on AT&T's part. Good examples of phones that are not supported: AT&T Tilt, HTC Fuze, Pantech Duo, Samsung BJ and BJII, Blackberry Anything, and Pantech Slate.
Re: I bet its expensive.
In addition to all of the other costs of the iPhone, assumed and unassumed, I think what he is saying is that iPhone customer are the least logical to target.
Re: I bet its expensive.
Hong Kong ftw. This will be knocked off in no time, at a fraction of the cost :)
Re: What is ATT thinking?
Results 1 - 10 of about 6,432,000 for Loch Ness Monster. (0.34 seconds)
Your point? /;|
Re: What is ATT thinking?
No joke. Because everything on the internet is true, right? Right?! lol
