Re: Trackball Cleaning or Replacing = Take Tour Completely Apart

Wait, let me get this straight, you don't even have a 'berry and you're bitching about the trackball getting dirty? I've had a Curve for a little over 8 months now. In my line of work, my phone gets abused (hence the Otterbox covering it). In addition, I like wrenching on my own vehicles which leaves me with greasy hands. Never once have I had to remove my trackball to clean it. Don't get me wrong, it's gotten ...

So I'm finally almost able to get rid of this hunk of garbage PPC-6700. Don't get me wrong, it was nice at first, but the battery doesn't last more than 4 hours anymore (with BT and WiFi OFF), freezes multiple times per day, etc etc. It's time to move on. My only real requirements are speakerphone, bluetooth and email. The PTT is a huge bonus and the camera is nice too. Long story short, does the ic902 have ...

Radio Shack sells the iGo car charger and I believe it's tip A29.

They have no idea what you're talking about because it basically doesn't exsist. External applications that aren't specifically written for that handset cannot access the internal e911 GPS. The internal GPS doesn't have a COM port per-se. You have 2 options. You wait until Sprint ports over the Garmin app, if they ever do. Or, you buy a bluetooth GPS module to throw on your dash.

He's an arrogant know-it-all on the HOFO boards as well. Here is a perfect example; http://www.howardforums.com/showt hread.php?t=680176&page=8&pp=15 I was really hoping he would actually leave the Sprint boards, but alas he hasn't.

RE: Happy customers; Being a RadioShack employee and working in a mall directly next door to a corporate owned Verizon store, I have a strong feeling their customer service will go down. I can't tell you how many upset or just flat out irrate customers we get coming from the VZW store next door. Most of the complaints are the salesmen are unwilling to help them, possibly because they have a phone problem or maybe they are an upgrade customer. ...

Plantronics makes, IMO some of the best headsets on the market. I'm very partial to the MX150.

How can you say it's crap? For $60 you have your phone covered should anything happen to it, like the charging port going bad which we all know has been a big issue with Sanyo's here of late, especially the 5500. Plus it covers any accessories and gives you a replacement battery every year. The battery alone is $70, so you just saved $10 by getting the service plan. I have saved well over $200 ...

It has nothing to do with VZW\Tmobile\Cingular wanting nothing to do with them. It has everything to do with Sprint and Sanyo having an exclusive partnership together. Sprint gave Sanyo a chance to make handsets for them way back when, when no one else would. According to our Sanyo rep, Sanyo is still a very traditional company when it comes to issues of that nature and they have remained loyal to Sprint since. Which is good, because that means ...

The stop-go communication gets a bit annoying. What is more-so annoying is you have to wait a second after the other party stops talking before you can start to talk again. Also, 99% of the people on the other end don't know that the phone is half duplex, attempt to say something which you won't hear and then they get upset when they think you are ignoring them. Back to the original topic, during our last Sprint training, ...

Not to be rude, but you DO know that CDMA\GSM phones exsist, right? They would beable to work on EITHER network.. Who'da thunk it?

Actually, it's quite the opposite. It's basically the carrier that mandates the options and overall feature set on the phone. For example, look at all of Sprints phones as of current, all of them use a standard "pin" charger (with the exception of Nokia). This was a Sprint mandate. Sprint said you build the phone this way or we're not going to sell your product. Yes, some phones are very similar, the Verizon A650 and the Sprint VI660 ...

Unforutnately, until SPCS and VZW start adding actual radio's into their phones, it will never happen. Now, on the other hand, being that VZW and SPCS use the same exact software and hardware to do the PTT (Sorry, the company's name that supplies the technology has escaped me) it is a *VERY* good posibility. Infact, SPCS is already undergoing investigation to do so. HTH
