I just looked at the official release for non-enterprise sales channels. It's 199 after mail-in-rebate and projector is sold seperate. The official consumer release says it launched on December 15th, but I don't have it in my inventory yet. So as always that probably means its available online and will be at store locations sooner or later.

Based on the specs for the Nexus, and the fact that its GSM and currently only being sold unlocked, its hard to feel betrayed. I waited what feels like a long time for a touchscreen phone to come out with a screen bigger than 3.2", this Nexus lists a 3.2" touchscreen, so for me not even a phone I would consider.

Out of the box it comes with unified inbox, and you can annotate your seperate accounts with different colored tabs.

If email is a top priority you better stick with blackberry. With the droid all your email accounts go into a unified inbox, except your gmail which has its own inbox. If you read alot of the posts on here, you will find most users aren't completely satisfied with the email feature on Android 2.0

Re: Discount on Data Plan for Secondary Line?
Nov 23, 2009, 5:42 PM
in the Verizon forum

we get a discount with Verizon and its a nice one, but I haven't noticed if that effects features as all the discounted charges are on the primary line. I work for AT&T and currently the majority of our employer discounts effect rate plans (the primary charge for family talk plans) and data plans including data plans for "dumb" phones. Prior to April of this year we were also discounting text packages but that changed. Also it depends on ...

It depends. Many consumers visit "free" ringtone sites, and agree to their terms and conditions without actually reading the fine print. To register at the site they have to provide their mobile number, so they have essentially already agreed to a subscription (the 9.95 or 19.99(flycell)is listed in the fine print) and receiving the text is in this case at least confirmation of the subscription and also gives the consumer the opportunity to cancel the subscription. This is only ...

you don't have to like subsidies, but realistically any of us have the option to buy our mobile device for the retail price with no commitment. the majority wants subsidized pricing even if they don't know what that is, actually the majority wants everything for free. but either way currently we have multiple options. and if the carrier thats offering the phone for the subsidized price wants to raise the etf to recoup some of their losses, ...

Exactly. Unless MSRP is going to change drastically we should be ok with ETFs and thankful for susidized pricing.

This seems a little ridiculous.Whether or not I agree with 350 dollars. They are making a business decision to prevent equipment scams based on subsidized pricing for handsets that retail at 800 plus dollars on average. Is she one of those customers that everytime they get mad at their carrier they want a free phone or free service and if not "I'm gonna cancel" and "no I'm not paying an ETF, I didn't sign a contract" "oh yeah I ...

I work for ATT and I just want to clarify upgrade fee (at least through corporate) is 18 dollars and yes goes on every line, but normally gets waived by customer service after the fact. And ETF is 175 (corporate) on every line and reduces by 5 dollars every month.

Re: Multitasking question... by Rich Brome (Moderator) Jun 23, 2009, 8:27 AM It sounds like your current understanding is correct. The iPhone does do a decent job of pseudo-multitasking. It's not actual multi-tasking, but most apps do load quickly and pick up right where you left off, which is most of what multi-tasking is supposed to provide. With third-party apps, it's up to the developer to make this work seamlessly, (a poorly-designed app would not pick up where you ...

Oct 20, 2009, 5:42 PM

poor you, you have to have the customer present. for the most part Customer Service is doing what they are told to do. Just as you in your ignorance are doing what you are told to do. Unfortunately it seems that often what we in customer service are told and what you an authorized dealer are told, is completely opposite.

Re: CS reps, why do you make things so hard?

Actually if you say you are a COR rep, we can take the call and VID like we would for an internal employee, because COR reps are considered internal employees and just like internal employees we are supposed to verify your ATTUID and the account information, the customer does not have to be present. Only when dealing with authorized retailers, national retailers etc, does the customer have to be present.

Ok, thank you for elaborating. My Mom and her Brother are also deaf, so yes I agree it could be a great thing. Typically in texting and posting, CAPS and exclamation points are considered yelling or exclaiming that is why I thought you were angry. Also the fact that you posted the same comment on each thread. And yes multiple forms of communication to reach 911 or other emergency contacts is a great thing. I definitely agree.

This sounds like their scan deposit system. Where you scan front and back of check to deposit via your home or business computer. That feature is only available to account holders who have a line of credit or a mortgage loan with USAA or at least that was the requirement last summer. I'm wondering if this feature will work the same way.

I've had mine just over a year and no problems, except the screen is very scratched. Thats my fault though, I'm rough on a phone, I drop em, throw em etc. Other then that mine has worked great. I hope this one comes out for Verizon, I want to compare it and the Omnia II before I upgrade.
