You can call your cat your dog, but its still your cat
What is T-Mobile thinking? They can't just make stuff up and call it the truth. Lets face it, this is upgraded 3rd generation technology, not 4th generation. Therefore not 4G. Customers are stupid though, and they may gain some subscribers due to this marketing ploy.
Motorola had some left overs to give to AT&T
I'm sure there is a market for these phones, but anyone wanting a high end Android experience on Motorola device may have to look to a different network.
Re: This has to be one of the most moronic things a carrier has done.
It just means Bing is the default browser. You will be able to download a google search app(which will not use Bing)... I don't care for Bing, but is it really that big of a hassle for people to launch the browser to use google now?
Yes
Because we all know that Virgin and Verizon are identical services with the same coverage and data speeds. Why provide choices or options?...Not saying that I would do it...Verizon has always said they do not tout the cheapest service, but they do boast a reliable network.
Re: HEY SAILORS! Bluecoyote live from San Francisco reporting on this!
finally, you and I agree on something.
I didn't know I could get SARs from my phone.
HA
important legislation and a big waste of time.
If they are jamming the frequencies around a prison, thedn what good is a cell phone anyway? ... Shouldn't Congress be working on killing the economy some more and not worry about worthless legislation.
Re: Stupid Question
Spectrum is used for more than just cell phone frequencies. Sprint can use old spectrum that was used for tv and convert that air space for broadband signal.
Re: way too expensive
If you are looking for a 5 dollar a month phone service then I would be investing in a couple empty cans of soup and a piece of string...
idiots!
While I find it funny that iPhone 4 doesn't get reception... you don't sue over that, you take the phone back! These sue happy people have to be stopped. That being said, maybe this will teach Apple a lesson about its extremely litigous ways.
Have fun with that At&t
Alltel customers for the most part have been a huge headache for me, full of complaints and fickle. It may be my particular area though. Thats what you get for taking over a dying companies massive debt.
Re: Not true
I think you reps are lying.
Re: And this is why indirects don't push this phone.
Verizon has seriously upped the spiffs, but, I would imagine that it probably it still comes in as a loss.
Loyal Blackberry users.
I think there is a large market of people who love their blackberry. They just wish the web browsing was up to par, especially if they bring flash 10 to the table. I think this will save RIM from extinction. I hope it works out well.
Re: iDONT WANT IT
Talk+Data comes in handy maybe %2 of the time. I don't really think that this will be a driving factor in making a decision on carriers. Who knows though, Apple maybe making a CDMA phone for the first Verizon LTE phone. If you read the WSJ article then you will see they are just making the phones in Sept, it gives no release date.
iDONT WANT IT
I don't really want one, but I am sure the fact that it is coming to Verizon will attract a lot of new customers and I will sell a ton of these. The only thing At&t has going for it now is the fact that they will have a new one first. People don't like to wait.
Re: Apple doesn't care
Last time I checked Att just recently committed to LTE, and its a little on the late side, considering Verizon has purchased most of the spectrum leaving Att to scrounge for crumbs on the bottom floor. I would rather have slightly slower 3G speeds and a broader coverage map. Tests were also conducted on ideal location with little traffic on the networks. I'm sorry but if the Att 3G is only located in metro areas the that a have ...
Hey Steve Jobs
Stop suing people. Your making your CRY-Phone look bad. I am seriously tired of this. If you keep acting like this I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon turns down a CDMA version. You are like a drama filled little girl.
Congratulations now everyone has to pay.
It is because of these allegations that Verizon is now charging the mandatory 9.99 data packages. People were "accidentally" using data features. I hope you enjoy your 1.99 back, because now to even have the better phones it is gonna cost you at least 9.99 a month.
Sour Grapes
Apple is totally mad that Google is cutting in to there market share. Now Apple is acting like the prom queen that got knocked up in high school. Every one wanted a piece of her until while she was hot, now that she is used up and tired everyone is deciding to move on.
Re: silly boys
WI-FI stands for Wireless Fidelity, not Wireless FREE Internet.
JUST KICK OFF THE DATA HOGS
Kick off the people that are leaching off the system and driving end costs higher.
Re: at least
At least there are still jobs there, and those call centers haven't been outsourced to a different country.
Re: Here's Engadget't comments on this ATT/Verizon fude. . .
That is a hilarious article. The folks at Engadget were not holding back any punches.
Re: laser keyboards
I bet its a pain. Technology is not so much about functionality is as it is about just proving that you can take an idea and make it a reality at this point.

How has the Versa sold so far?
I am pretty sure verizon had a hard time pushing out the Versa until they dropped the price to 49.99 then it looked like an attractive option. When it first came out, it had the keyboard packaged with it, and then they repackaged it and sold the keyboard seperately for extra money. It didn't have much of a chance with the ENVY Touch releasing right after it. It was less expensive, keyboard ...
Re: Your Late... again
Slightly better than average coverage is like saying T-Mo has Slightly less than adequate 3G coverage.
Re: T-Mobile USA Joins.......
Agreed, T-Mo users need to be in a WI-FI spot to use their feature rich phones. The line up is not bad, If I were looking for a cheap plan, I think I would still take Sprint above T-Mobile, at least they have a 3G map.
Re: HA
You still carry a Razor???
I agree
I agree whole heartedly, Dense legislation "cold" be bad.
Congratulations Teamsters
Way to get behind the huge fraud that is liberalism. The only thing that liberals are liberal about is a healthy dose of over regulations and laws. I have several truckers coming in to the store quite a bit and they are great customers who use the phone alot while they are driving. Obama is trying to make it illegal for them to do so even with the use of bluetooth headsets. So, Congratulations Teamsters, you have ...
Re: Pixilized, Baby!!!
Is it just me or is this phone ugly as sin?
Re: Can we just stop please?
Are you trying to put us phone sales people out of the job? I get paid more for the more minutes I can talk people into.
Re: 25mb's & 75mb's AKA. . .
Thats why you should just go ahead and sign up with the Premium Plan it gives you unlimited data, V-cast videos, and VZ Navigator.
Pointless
This is most pointless thing I have ever heard. Chad and his gang have been bought out. I guess Verizon is tossing the loyal Alltel customers a bone since they will be getting all their money in the future. I have also seen BOGO on the tour at an indirect location.
Re: Give me 4G!!!
When they do get LTE fully developed, I am sure they will have a plan with a cap higher than 5 gigs.
Re: All I have to say is. . .
I don't think any little rich girls would want this phone. They are still in love with the touch screen, or smart phones. This is basically a regular flip phone with some nice accessories, but its still a flip phone. You can put a fat girl in a prom dress, but you still don't want to take her to the dance.
Re: This soon!
Now you seem like a jerk.
Re: Too bad this is set for GSM
There are a few Verizon phones with sim cards in them. They only have this for global capabilities. They will continue to run on the CDMA network.
Re: Cell Ban???
I have not heard of any such laws in Missouri of an all cell phone ban.
They did just pass a law that people under 22 could not text while driving. Apparently the officers can look at someone driving and pull them over under the suspicion of texting. If they are over 22 then its "have a nice day". This law seems pretty stupid to me. I believe that texting and driving should be illegal accross ...
