I ported to T-Mobile
I bit the bullet and ported to T-Mobile. This is just one of the several reasons for doing so. I am sick of Verizon's high prices and arrogant ways. I was a 12 year customer with them and now I a with T-Mobile. So far, so good.

I thought WIFI calling was available on any WIFI network by simply connecting to the WIFI. Now I see that TMobile is selling a hotspot box for that purpose. So can you only use WIFI calling through this box or ANY wifi connection? I was waiting on IOS 8 and Verizon to offer this so I can use wifi calling in remote areas. I guess Verizon will have to send out a box as well now? This makes it ...

As of today (13 Sept) 3:05 pm, the Verizon Wireless website is still showing full prices on the Iphone's. No drop yet.

until Verizon drops their prices on the 4S? I would rather have a 4S 16gb for $99 than the new Iphone 5 for $199

I like the family shared data plan idea. My family rarely uses more than 1 Gig between the three of us per month. We are almost always connected to WiFi, so why use 3G? If the tiered plans are more cost effective for us non power users, I am all for this.

The 8300 has TWO different and independant signal bars. One signal bar (4 bars) is for 1X service. The other signal bar (4 bars) is for EVDO service. When you leave EVDO service, the display changes to ONLY 1X and 4 bars.

The RIM products do push email VERY well. No lockups, rebooting, delays, ect... The Treo's dont do PUSH without an unstable third party software add on.

If it did, I would be all over it. All I want is a small flip phone that is stable with bluetooth and speakerphone. My 8100 is almost there but it is not stable... :x

What do you mean by speaker independant dialing. It allows you to say digits (all at once without pausing) or a name.Explain to me what you are asking better and I will answer. Here is a screenshot of the voice command part:

It is the same. I have used my old 8000 charger on my 8100 (car charger). The travel charger is the same too.

You may be able to order it now
Call *611 and try to order it. When the rep. says they can't order it, just ask them to try it just for grins. When they go through the process it will work. The system will order it for some regions now. Maybe you will get lucky. I am the guy that received two 8100's this morning. My rep. friend said it will work if you are lucky enough to be in the right region. Good luck.

I took the VX8100 to a known bad RF area.....
and it worked like a champ. One bar but held the signal solid. I like the phone pretty well so far. By the way, the other one is sold.

Yes, you can read a text message without opening the flip. The ringer are very load. Louder than any other phone I have had, and I have had most of Verizon's phones.
