The Samsung Trance is a qualcomm phone, so the ringtones use the .qcp format - I'm thinking you need software to convert from .mp3 to .qcp. To find conversion software, try doing a search at Softpedia or Cnet Downloads using the keyword "qcp". Once you have ringtones in the correct .qcp format, the phone should theoretically recognize them. The manual for this phone states that it will accept up to a 16GB SD memory card - but then states that only a 2GB card is recommended as the phone "may have difficulty" in recognizing the extra memory.
