When things are new to the market, it will always be high. I call that early adopters tax. So if you just wait a month or two instead of trying to be the first kid on the block with the new toy, prices will drop.

Stock Android, removable and expandable memory is what you and the geeks want. I don't know anyone that cares about any of those things that you listed. They don't even know what stock Android is to even care. If a removable battery or expandable memory was so important, the iphone, Lumina 920 etc, wouldn't be selling.

Its funny now that I own a phone with a non removable battery, I never been in a situation where I needed to pull the battery and the phones with removable batteries I've had to.
Even if I should get another phone with a removable battery in the future, I still will not purchase or carry a spare battery...ever!

Do they have a over abundance of cheap plastic which they stocked up on in inventory in which they need to rid themself of? They must have gotten a good deal on plastic. So now they have enough to make the Galay S X in 2019 and after that they will start using quality materials…HTC FTW.

If you look at the phone or watch the interview with the sprint product guy he couldn't place the HDMI port or kickstand at the bottom due to additional equipment and battery relocation.
There will be a kickstand case for those who need and use the kickstand...I never did.

I've been with them for 11 yrs and i'll be selling my reliable Evo for the Evo 3d. At least they came out with a successor on time unlike the Pre...glad I didn't wait 2yrs for a new crap Pre.

I also own an Evo and lets face it the Evo is getting old and the thunderbolt is and improved version. I posted a you tube video of it in action. If I could get that new sense on my Evo i'd be happy...hope Sprint does an encore with the Evo.

Battery life on the D2 looks incredible
This thing is listed a almost ten hour of talk time that got to be the best yet topping even the Iphone caim of 7hrs

All depends on the carrier and whether or not you get service for that particular in the areas that you live, work and frequent the most. I would go with the Evo for the price savings and bigger screen. More screen real estate is more important to me than pixels, just my opinion.
