December 11th Update did not enhance Exchange Integration Short-Falls
Dec 13, 2009, 9:55 PM
in the Verizon forum

I received the update on Friday late in the morning. Phone restarted once completed. The Exchange short-comings I complained of are still there, no ability to accept calendar meeting invites, can't sort email by sender or subject, search button within email does a complete phone search just like main page on phone, no way to search thru your exchange email from phone.

Man, is Android really lacking MS Exchange Integration
Dec 9, 2009, 12:08 AM

I got the Droid, and for the most part love it. I think it gives the iPhone a good run for the money. But I can't believe Google has the Android operating system, and Verizon has put this phone on the market, and it lacks good Exchange integration. First, the configuration of the email client is not straight forward, I've read numerous forums where people had a hard time getting it to interface w/ their Exchange servers. Then, you have to setup ...

Why don't you go to Wirefly and see if you can order the Droid today, you'll save yourself $70 over Verizon's store/online price, and if it allows you to process the upgrade today, you'll be locking yourself into the older ETF which is $175. From 11/16/09 onward, your ETF for this phone will be $350. http://www.wirefly.com/specialoffer. aspx?cid=26987_e3088455a2714b7ba87a7fc975a2ab 61 Good Luck.

Re: Consumer

W/ the extra batteries and accessories I think you could fetch about $350, the I would look for a Droid online, try Amazon or a place like Wirefly, you should be able to get the phone for around $500 which would be $150 net.

Re: LG EnV Touch to require web plan
Nov 15, 2009, 10:05 AM

I beliee you have a min of 2 weeks to try out new devices. Just return the Touch to the store for a full refund, and find another device which doesn't require the data plan. Also since I believe the data plan is tied to the date a particular device went into service, a possible loophole around this is to buy a gently used Touch or other similar device which had an orig in-service date prior to 11-8-09. At least this ...

I ask you to please step back from towing the company line, and provide info about the best options available to consumers. I'm interested in insurance options ...

Verizon Droid Data Plan, Tethering and Exchange Email Will Cost You

I stopped by a store today in NJ to check out the phone, was pretty excited with all the buzz, and the device and OS is actually quite nice. While playing w/ the phone browser I typed in Verizon Droid and up came this article. http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/artic le/181590/verizon_droid_tethering_will_cost_y ou.html I have to agree that Verizon is pricing the add-on services for this phone so high, along with the new ETF coming in a week, that they are going to discourage adoption of this and ...

I don't come hear to talk to employees, I come to get news which is not generally available. But nowadays, all you find is employees, more and more of which offer dribble like your post. Isn't also against the rules to use company assets for activities unrelated to company business? Or, is being on this website now sanctioned and encouraged by Mgmt?

Sorry, I was mistaken, re-read the article and yes, it's $99 for every line over 2, but who in their right mind would pay $500 for 5 users? You're talking family plan here, on avg, only one person would be a power user. Verizon better go back to the drawing board on this idea.

Re: USB720 on Sprint Network
Feb 18, 2008, 7:27 PM

I'm not asking verizon for software. this is a USB modem, it just should be a matter of drivers. The modem doesn't have software the way a phone does, so I'm hoping it would work, and I have no problem using Sprint's driver or whatever. The Sprint U720 and the Verizon USB720 are the exact same hardware made by Novatel.

That's the answer I would expect from a Verizon employee on a Verizon website, but this is phonescoop, so go away w/ the corpline BS. It's unfortunate that 98% of the people here are VzW employees. This site used to be great a few years ago, this forum may as well be hosted on Verizon's webservers

I believe you are referring to this, http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/02 /18/update-full-lineup-of-verizon-wireless-un limited-plans/ And where you found this in the Sprint forum it's wrong, it's $9.99 for additional family lines.

I'm looking to get a BT headset for my Samsung i730, and I was thinking about the new Jawbone. Will this work well w/ the i730? I will probably upgrade to a new phone within the next 3-4 mos, so anything I buy now I want to work w/ the next gen of phones like the i760 or 6800 on Verizon.

Could Verizon release the AT&T Tilt Equivalent
Nov 12, 2007, 5:31 PM

Could the delay in releasing the 6800 now be because VzW will look to release the upgraded version w/ the 3Mp camera and larger memory? After all VzW had an exclusive on this phone in April, and Sprint couldn't release their version until June. A lot of time has past since April, and again since the date rumored in September and you have to wonder why the 6800 is still not here.
