Early Purchase Info
Please let us know of any early purchase information via telesales or otherwise. Last time we got some very good scoops on picking up the Curve a week prior to its release via telesales.
Re: Verizon Curve is out and I have it REVIEWED!
The vibration on the phone is the strongest ever. Good stuff. They have to fix the MMS though. I know the GPS is locked down for a reason. They only want you to pay for VZ Navigator. There is already a lawsuit in connection with the disabling of the GPS chip in the 8830. I have a feeling a suit for this phone will not be far behind.
Re: Verizon Curve is out and I have it REVIEWED!
That's a legit comment, but the only reason I posted on the blog was to include the pics I took. Please see the review section here for my review without the pics.
Verizon Curve is out and I have it REVIEWED!
I want to put all the news and sightings to bed once and for all. Thanks to many phonescoop.com users, I was able to order and received a Verizon Blackberry Curve on May 3, 2008. Please find a link to my pictures and review of the same.

Thanks for all the great info guys. Without phonescoop this would not be possible.
Re: Wireless Synch through Verizon
wirelesssync is push. There is no 15 min increment to download new messages. They arrive within 30 seconds. You need to set it up to "PUSH"
Re: Does Activesync only work with Outlook or will it work with Outlook Express?
Its intended to work with exchange 2003 via wireless. I believe you need full outlook to sync via usb cable.
Re: Extended battery
It is a great deal for 20 bux. The phone feels twice as heavy with it installed, but it is a necessity if you make a lot of calls and/or receive a lot of data. I lost one bar through Saturday's use. Whereas, my phone died after a full Friday's use at about 7:00 p.m.
My review of the Q
I have been a Verizon Wireless user for over 10 years, I have had every new phone the day they came out (v60, T720, V710, Treo 650, Treo 700 W, and now the Q). Well these are the phones that actually matter.
I have been a Treo user for over 2 years because I loved the out of the box functionality of wireless sync believe it or not. I have never had an issue with wireless sync and ...
Re: Exchange with 700w
Getting rid of wirelesssync from Verizon is horrible advice. This is the only thing that works with exchange. Activesync IS NOT PUSH. You must set intervals for it to communicate with the server. Push means that as soon as there is a change (i.e. new mail, new contact, new appointment) it sends the new info to the phone and vicaversa to the computer from the phone.
Activesync sucks since IT DOES NOT work either via usb to ...
Re: Activ Sync confusion
Wrong Activesync is crap its not realtime. Wirelesssync is real time using PUSH technology. It monitors your inbox, calendar, contacts, etc. The moment there is a change your phone gets the update immediately. If you make a change to the phone then Outlook gets updated ASAP.
Activesync must be user initiated or set on a certain interval.
Re: trouble w/ activesync for outlook exchanger
I had the same issue with Activesync and my 700. I could not Activesync via USB cable or wirelessly to my Exchange Server. We run Exchange 2003. Also, Wirelesssync failed to work properly.
When I called Verizon, they could not support the issue. The tech called Palm with me on conference and Palm refused to provide support. What a joke.
The 700 is going back because it is absolutely worthless without the wireless syncing options. ...
Re: Problems with "push" with Wireless Sync
I returned the phone today after this same issue. It is pathetic they release a phone with this type of flaw. I currently use a Treo 650. Sometimes less is more.
Windows OS is slow as hell and filled with bugs. What else is new.
The only thing better about the 700 is the EVDO. Activesync isn't even push and I couldn't get it to sync with my exchange server. This phone needs a ...
Re: Louder volume
P2Kman does not recognize the v710. Any other solutions? I would love to put some other functions on this phone. The only connectivity I get is mobile tools from motorola. I paid 30 bucks to d/l from motorola. Their site specifically says the software will enable you to u/l and d/l ringers, etc. Of course with the v710 the functionality is disabled.
Re: does anyone have the software for the phone!
Its a motorola cable that I had for my v60.
Re: does anyone have the software for the phone!
Its compressed. The s/w was d/led from motorola's website. Its 30 bucks.
Re: does anyone have the software for the phone!
No, its the usb cable.
Re: does anyone have the software for the phone!
I have phone tools 2.0. I can only sync my contacts and calendar to and from the phone and pc. The media functionality which should allow the download of ringers, mp3s, or screensavers is diabled! I am dissapointed. Please advise with any updates.
Re: I will get you a v710
Not BS. Just trying to help. I know how long everyone has suffered. I rather see someone here get than some freak off the street. Look up 19116 zip on RS web and you will see one available tomorrow. I don't care if anyone believes me or not. Just want to help.
I will get you a v710
My fellow v710 people. I just bought a v710 from RS in philly. I have one on hold at another store. email me if you want me to buy it for you. I love it. Its so cool and of course ive been obsessing for 6 months. I will be glad to hook someone up. At this point I will have to pay full price. Email me if interested. reattorney@gamail.com
Re: Will this run...
1. The phone receiption is horrible.
2. The external caller id takes about five rings to establish a number to display, it never shows the name associated with the number.
3. The internal caller id, does not show the name associated with the number until you answer the call.
4. Most of the web pages intended for this phone do not function period!
5. The phone book is the worst, you have to scroll through all ...
Re: Will this run...
I highly doubt it will run.. The phone's own internal applications do not run. The phone is very buggy.
On its way
I went to the Verizon Wireless retail location today in Bristol, PA. They had a non-working model on display and advised me they could only order the phone for me. They did so. I paid $399.00 for the phone which includes the new every two promotion and I was required to sign up for another 2 year contract.
I called to verify that it was shipped and it was!! They gave me a tracking number (I ...
