FM radio interference from charger

I've had a P10 for a few weeks, it has taken over from a P9 Lite that I bought last year. Both of these phones wash out my car radio with interference when plugged in to charge in the car. Has anyone else noticed this? I don't understand how these things passed FCC certification.

Interesting. But most of MetroPCS customers are on CDMA/EVDO today, not on LTE. 100% of them will need new phones since the presentation says the CDMA technology will not be integrated into the merged network. ?

Agreed. If they get global roaming enabled before T-Mobile gets a top-end slider with 5-row QWERTY, I'm going to abandon my TouchPro2 and switch back to Verizon. Of course, I would be just as happy if HTC had released a refreshed TouchPro with current CPU/RAM/Display specs and running Android natively. It's a got a great keyboard, just needs more RAM and faster CPU.

Great, talk about planned obsolescence. Can they make it any more obvious? Oh well. Still, it's about time somebody released a QWERTY Android phone with top-end specs. Samsung has been a disappointment (Captivate Glide, 4-row keyboard? really? idiots) and HTC has been a no-show.

Almost good enough

They regressed from the 5-row keyboard on their Epic 4G. And ergonomically speaking, the keys need to be in staggered rows, not the square grid they always use. It really seems like this one was an afterthought, not one that actually had any careful design put into it.

But if you're already a T-Mobile customer, you still have to pay $199. Way to reward customer loyalty...

Well I hope it gets even better than this, because I want a fast smartphone *with a keyboard* that justifies an upgrade from my G1... My (and probably the majority of G1 owners') 2 years is coming up soon, since the G1 was released in 2008. The Vibrant isn't enough to make me stay.

Hm, the MyTouch 3G slide has the same size/rez screen as the G1, so that's not an upgrade. The CPU is only 10% faster than the G1, so that's an imperceptible upgrade. The keyboard layout is inferior to the G1, so that's a loss. Overall it has nothing to entice a G1 owner into switching. If I'm going to lay out money for a new phone, it has to be a significant improvement over what I have now.

like Sprint's Epic 4G. I've been waiting forever for a fast Android phone with a keyboard to replace my G1. The Sprint version has all the right features, but I still need a GSM phone, not a US-only CDMA thing. Getting really tired of waiting. (And still don't want to switch to Verizon or Sprint - they seem to have the better phones right now, but I still need something that works when I travel to Europe too, and I ...

This phone is looking pretty good to me. I'll be waiting for the T-Mobile version. Are there any other high end Android phones coming out in the near future, with QWERTY keyboard?

I was never able to get a connection to Hulu direct from my T-Mobile 3G connection, dunno if it was being blocked by Hulu or T-Mobile, but I now have a relay setup so I can stream Hulu to my G1. You don't need Flash, you just need root access on your phone.

Rich Brome said: Also not true. Both Verizon and Sprint offer GSM roaming service with their world phones, just like the GSM carriers. Well, to the other point, there's what 1, 2 models of world phones to choose from that support both CDMA and GSM? I remember reading the specs for all of these things - CDMA, TDMA, GSM, and thinking CDMA is great, but like so many other cases in life, the best technical solution has lost. Probably because, like Sony, ...

This Italian web site claims the phone supports EMS/MMS, and also GPRS. http://www.pianetacellulare.it/Model li/Samsung/SCHA790.html This is a big deal to me because I'd want a single phone not only for voice calls, but also for data. The site above lists availability in December for 600 Euros - pretty expensive.
