Mellowpaul...yes, it is a full duplex speakerphone and it's very loud. You'll find yourself turning it down! You won't be disappointed with this phone.
LG CLOUT TROUBLE!
Trouble brewing with the Clout, folks!! Well at least the two I've had since 8/1/10. A reset issue (powers off then powers back on) is back on the latest one I received from VZ.
Such a shame since it's a great phone. But if it's happened to me with two phones (one from an outside supplier, the other a certified "like-new" from VZ both within two months) it's a pretty good guess there is something wrong in the software ...

Mellowpaul.....My Clout's battery has been lousy from Day One (7/31/10) and yes, I charged the battery before I initially turned it on. I bought my Clout from an authorized outside dealer.
From Day One I noticed the phone resets itself (Turns off then on) several times a day. Thought it was normal like a software or roaming update.
I finally called VZ tech support yesterday. After some diagnostic tests they determined my phone was toast! They said the resets ...

Absolutely you can tether your phone to your laptop. You'll use your USB cable which came with the phone and the Verizon software has to be loaded on your desktop. (free on the site.)
I've used it many times all over the country and I can tell you it works great!

Gary .... I too have waited for this phone a long time. The scoop on the Clout is actually quite simple.
Since VZ plopped the $9.99 data plan on the Clout's predecessor, the LG VX8360, sales came to a screeching halt. My sources tell me there are thousands of them in a warehouse somewhere.
VZ is not going to sell the Clout in their stores until the 8360's are gone; then the Clout will hit mainstream.
Until that time, ...

Well, I'm returning the 8360.
The final conclusion was the speakers. I listen to a lot of podcasts and the 8360 speakers are no match for the 8300 boomers.
When I first saw the 8360 speakers on PhoneScoop (remember the 8360 is the first Verizon phone I ever bought without holding it in my hands) I thought, wow, these babies must be real loud - to say the least I was disappointed.

I should have done two things ..... use spell check (duh) and I forgot to mention the problem with caller ID numbers/text is on the 8350's FRONT display.

Font/Numbers on front display
I had my LG 8350 since April 2007 and I love it.
However, after a "software update" (version 03)done at a VZW store in January 09, the font on my front display (where it shows caller names or number) has changed with this update and it is very difficult to read - where as before the software update it was fine.
